“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30
Warm…and yes, I do mean WARM greetings sweet friends! Here in our Appalachian Foothills, it has already jumped up to the mid 80’s! But, no complaints here…I am enjoying time in my garden. The month of May always seems to be a busy time with all the holidays, graduations, bridal showers, etc! But the occasion that I find the most special is Mother’s Day! I hope all of you feel loved and celebrated as the holiday fast approaches…and I hope you enjoy the sweet bouquets I have put together for the occasion!

My Mother loved flowers…growing and receiving them. Her table often had roses from her small garden space. She definitely had a green thumb, just like her mother!
Today is the first Friday of the month which means Floral Friday. I am joining my three very talented blogging friends for flower inspiration just in time for Mother’s Day!
For the bouquets, I mixed it up with a contemporary tea pot and traditional julep cups resting on a vintage silver tray. The butterfly tea pot is full of English roses, double orange tulips, and spray roses.
My beautiful Mother was so loved, it wasn’t unusual for a floral delivery to arrive from someone whose life she touched. I often picked up a fragrant bouquet for her…just because. I remember so many times, one single rose would be sitting on her kitchen table. My love of flowers comes honest!
One julep cup holds a bouquet of spray roses, so simple and inexpensive. I recently shared that I had a collection of miniature jeweled boxes, and many of you asked me to share them. I placed two on the silver tray…this pretty butterfly…
…and a sweet teapot adorned with flowers and a butterfly!
My heart’s desire was to be a mother. After several years of marriage and countless tests, the doctor said we would never be able to have children. But we never stopped praying! Two months shy of our thirteenth anniversary, I gave birth to our precious baby boy…my heart’s desire!
You always hear that there is nothing that compares to being a grandmother…and I can now say that there has never been a more true statement! Our Ella Mae will celebrate her second birthday on May 12. Warning: be prepared for photos!
On the right side, apricot drift roses cut from the garden fill this julep cup with the sweetest fragrance!
As most of you know, I spend three days a week with my little princess, and we have the best conversations. Wednesday morning, she informed me that her Da (Butch) was taking her to the duck park. I texted Butch to alert him that she was expecting a trip to see the ducks and to ride the choo-choo train. He was well aware of their plans, they had discussed it on Sunday! We couldn’t believe that she remembered. Guess where we are going this afternoon?!
Mother’s Day can be hard when you no longer have your mom. But I feel her presence as I make her recipes, use all the beautiful things she made, and relive all of the precious memories. She was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman, strength and dignity were her clothing…her children rise up and call her blessed. Her life was filled with grace, wisdom, and beauty!

Pam, what a most beautiful tribute to your mom. I can see the strength and faith in you that you so inherited from you mom. I so remember the days when I had my Sweetie in her early years…enjoy these times with yours as they go by so quickly…Your teapots are so stunning and you have created a beautiful display as you always do…..I so love the gorgeous colors in the flowers and the teapots. Truly beautiful!…I so look forward to being a part of Floral Fridays with you beautiful ladies! Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Thank you Shirley❤️
Swoon Pam…I’m all aflutter over your beautiful butterfly bouquet of English roses and double orange tulips! Your butterfly jeweled boxes make such a gorgeous vignette on silver tray to serve up flowers! I can practically smell your apricot drift roses cut from your garden, what a treat and gorgeous start to my day. I love the memories you shared of your sweet mom and becoming a mother. Some of my fondest memories of my grandparents were going with them to feed the ducks at the park. We’re warming up with a high today of 86 today and the humidity is starting to creep up. I’m hoping we’ll have some cooler spring temps next week. Enjoy your time with sweet Ella Mae. It’s always a pleasure to join you for Floral Friday.♥
Thank you so much Mary❤️

So incredibly beautiful Pam! The pink and orange blooms are fabulous with the dark butterfly pieces and your mint julep cups, just a stunning arrangement! This post is indeed a special tribute to your Mother and all the qualities she blessed you with ❤️
Thanks so much, Jenna!❤️
Any type of orange or coral colored rose just grabs my eye. So very pretty and you’ve arranged them in a stunning way! I have a new-to-me yard and was delighted to see Iris pop up! The deep purple flowers are such a great surprise. I’m learning to manage the roses that were here. I hope to have some as pretty as yours soon.
Thank you Leslie Anne! Happy Friday!
Dear Pam: What a beautiful post and loving tribute to your dear mother. Those of us who had dear mothers who instilled in us all things good and the love of beauty are so blessed. After 32 years in public education, I well know that sadly not every child has such blessings. I always think of that when Mother’s Day comes around.
Your flowers take my breath away. Oh how I love them all, but those double orange tulips make my heart pound. You created lovely, lovely arrangements in your beautiful teapot and julep cups. I do believe I see Ella Mae’s name written on the beautiful little teapot with a butterfly, flowers, and gold handle.
Thank you Pam, for the time you spend creating post after post, which only shares all things good and beautiful!
Happy Mother’s Day to you !

This is a beautiful post, Pam. And the comments about Shirshee are so touching. I will always be grateful that she “adopted” me, and my family. The impact that she made on all of our lives is so far reaching, and especially on Tara. The wonderful mother that Tara is has much to do with Shirshee’s influence. And sweet, Ella Mae; what a joy!
Thank you so much, Patti. She loved you all so much and she would be so proud of Tara!
A lovely tribute to your mom, dear Pam. A beautiful post altogether.

I love your beautiful arrangements in tribute to your mother. My mother loves flowers as well and her flower garden was always a joy. She is now 90 years old and no longer able to garden but sitting on her patio, listening to the bird song and admiring the roses is still her favorite past time.
Thank you Carolyn. How wonderful that you still have your precious Mother!
