“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen…
…For by it the people of old received their commendation…
…By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”

I’m always interested in your area, so thanks for the photos. Ours is surrounded by dairy farms, mostly , and timber. Your first photo of the church with the peeling paint makes me want to volunteer at a working bee to paint it.
It also reminds me of this joke, an oldie and there are variations around:

Cath, what a cute joke! Have a wonderful week!

What does cute mean in Appalachian? Does it mean “don’t you be so cute with me, I’ll whoop your bottom when I catch you?”
Pam @ Everyday Living says
In the South, cute could mean those or it can be funny or sweet or many other things?. I meant funny???
Runningonempty says
Dang, and I thought you were going to come over here to catch me.
While your hemisphere is enjoying Spring/Summer, we are preparing for a vacation in the cold. As we say here, we need our heads read! We will take Ace to the snow one day. She’s never been.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
We don’t often see snow in the Deep South, but occasionally we have 4 to 6 inches!
Runningonempty says
That’s quite a lot! We are heading up to our nation’s Capital and beyond. Do you get to yours much?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
We have been several times, but not in the last few years! We have traveled quite a bit in Europe and all across the USA! Washington DC is a beautiful city!

Such a lovely start to my day! I always enjoy your churches and this one is no exception. It would have so many lovely stories to tell. Your historic district must be something special, old homes always capture my heart. Pam, your entire area must truly be beautiful, from the rivers to the fields and everything wonderful in between. I so enjoy all the beauty you share.
Have a most beautiful day and week! We are beginning to see spring here in the hills.

Always Sundays are relaxing and charming. The style of American house fascinates me, they are beautiful …
I’m working on everything I’ve seen in Ireland. It is not easy to tell everything without it being an endless story, so I advise a lot of patience.
