“Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their fathers.”
Proverbs 17:6
Hello dear friends! Last Saturday, May 12th we celebrated our precious granddaughter’s second birthday. I have often said that grands are the reward for getting older. Her sweet Mommy and Daddy planned a very special party for her. Just to warn you, there are a few photos of our Ella Mae. Be sure to scroll to the bottom to find the winner of Frank Stitt’s Southern Table cookbook. I must explain the title before we dive in. When it is someone’s birthday, Ella Mae says “happy to you”. She doesn’t find it necessary to include “birthday”! Now for our girl’s Happy 2 You!
Ella Mae received the cutest little tea pot for Christmas that talks and makes a sound like you are pouring tea. She loves to play with it and pours tea for everyone that visits. That is how her Mommy decided on the theme!
I bought her this dress a couple of months ago, the girl loves clothes!
She also loves jewelry, so I gave her the pearl necklace for her birthday. She is modeling for us!
Mommy did a beautiful job making the table so girly and sweet…
…and she made this gorgeous tea pot cake! It tasted as good as it looks!
Ella Mae was patiently waiting for the party to begin!
Pizza was a must for this sweetheart. After all, it is the perfect finger food. There were three pizza choices and Caesar salad for the adults!
Now it is time to sing Happy Birthday and eat cake…our girl loves cake! Mommy constructed the handle and spout instead of using fondant. Isn’t it cute?
Ok, enough eating…let’s open presents!
She got so many fun things to play with and a lot of pretty clothes!
When Ella Mae tells Da to jump, he says “how high?”
I so appreciate each visit and comment that you leave. Now for the winner of the Frank Stitt Southern Table cookbook…drum roll…congrats to Alice.
Be sure to join my talented blogging friends and me for Floral Friday tomorrow.

How the children grow … !! I almost think it was yesterday when her mom got pregnant …
Already two years, what greater! Ella Mae is a beautiful girl …
Do you realize the time it takes for us to communicate? It’s amazing how time passes. Having met you and your husband through these cybernetic paths is something that fills me with joy. Always in your posts you have filled my life with light and that is very important for me.
I wish you all a lot of happiness, many years of life to be able to see how the grandchildren grow that these are the true Grace of God.
With love
Dolores

Pam, how beautiful she is and I love her dress and necklace. Her Mom did a wonderful job with the teapot and table. Her hair has grown a lot lately. She is just beautiful. Happy Birthday sweet Ella Mae!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Dianne, we are hoping that her hair will start growing more!
Runningonempty says
Pam, my daughter’s hair was the same. I did as the “old wives” said, kept cutting it. I had it bobbed for years. On my last blog post you can see how thick and great it is now.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Your daughter’s hair is thick and beautiful!

Must be something in those old wives tales, except I am one now, lollol.

So am I?

We should write a book of “unwanted suggestions but I’ll say them anyway”.
Sure to be a best seller “ or you’re not getting any dessert until you buy it.”

I have been patiently waiting for pictures, and I love them all. Such a beautiful and precious little girl. As grandparents, we know just how precious they are. We had two sons, so when the grandgirls came, we were blown away by the sweetness of little girls. Your daughter-in-love shares your love of beauty in all things. She did a wonderful job with the table and that lovely cake. I am going back and enjoy the pictures again. Love, Betty

My daughter gave me a frame when her oldest (now 12!) was born that says, “Great moms get promoted to be great grandmoms” which I still have & love!
So I understand what joy, thrill, love & adoration when we get time to spend with our grands. I want to bottle the hugs and kisses from them, I want to imprint in my mind the way they run to me when they spot me in the distance and remember their breathless voices saying, “I love you so much, Amah”!
I know you are having the time of your life with your beautiful little Ella Mae! Her birthday cake is simply adorable! I cannot believe she is 2!!! Time marches on! ?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
What precious thoughts Amah, I am enjoying every minute with her! xoxo

Patti Fralix says
Pam, Ella Mae’s party is so feminine, for a precious little girl! Alison did a great job on the cake and everything; so sweet. And the necklace you gave Ella Mae looks just like one I got for Virginia for her preschool graduation that was tonight, with the only difference being Virginia’s has yellow stones between the pearls, and it looks like Ella Mae’s has pink stones. I had bought Virginia a pearl necklace for Christmas, which she loved, and it broke. I probably went to at least 20 stores before I found this one! It is hard to believe that Ella Mae is 2 already!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Patti. It was so much fun and Ella Mae loved every minute of her party. I saw the pictures of Virginia’s graduation, so sweet and precious. Your girls are all just beautiful and Mary Grace is a young lady. We have to make sure our girls have pearls! Hugs~

What a lovely party for such a beautiful little girl! Ella Mae is so precious in these pictures, and all the decorations and teapot cake are just perfect. Pam, I would never get any work done with Ella Mae around…I would be too busy kissing on her all the time! You and Butch are so blessed.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You are so sweet, Roxanne. The three days that she stays with me, all we do is play. At this stage of life, I know everything else will keep. Housekeeping will wait, I didn’t think so when Seth was little. There are some advantages to getting older, we become a little wiser! Wishing you a lovely weekend!
