“And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands;”
Hebrews 1:10
Happy Tuesday sweet friends! I am getting prepared to celebrate our nation’s birthday tomorrow and I sure hope you have your plans finalized!
As we find time, we are accomplishing some inside projects that have been on the to-do-list forever. Last Friday as I was cleaning out before starting on our current project, I discovered something that brought back a few memories. Late 70’s or early 80’s our master bedroom was painted in the now very popular blush color. I used a Waverly floral fabric as the primary fabric and mixed it with plaids, stripes, and a mini print. The room was very pretty with balloon curtains, bedding, and a canopy bed. Yes, The Renaissance Man slept underneath a canopy with floral fabric and never once complained. Let’s just say it was my Mario Buatta room. For some unknown reason, I kept one of the sheets and discarded all the bedding, pillows, and curtains. I was about to throw it away when I suddenly had an idea, I can repurpose the sheet as a tablecloth. With God’s creation as a backdrop, I love setting a table in the garden!
The vintage and slightly faded sheet makes a floral splash!
What I love most about this tabletop is that I had everything on hand.
Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage salad plates rest on toile patterned Churchill dinner plates. Both were purchased at Tuesday Morning several years ago.
Hydrangeas that I cut from my front yard were placed in a matching Churchill pitcher and bowl for an easy centerpiece!
The mophead hydrangeas have very deep colors varying from blue to purple.
The limelights are almost in full bloom!
Sterling napkin rings hold Cynthia Rowley napkins that I found at TJ Maxx in early spring.
Godinger stemware that I use for everyday completes the place setting.
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
Thank you for taking time to read and comment, it always makes my day.

Every time I think your garden could not look more beautiful, new photos show it to look even more exquisite! I have hydrangea envy!! Years and years ago, my prim and proper mother floored me when she said “a married lady should decorate her bedroom so the man feels he is an important visitor”. My parents’ bedroom was always very feminine, and I never once heard Daddy complain!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Roxanne, thank you so much. I love the story you shared about your prim and proper mother. I think she had the right idea!

Your gardens have so many wonderful layers, textures, and colors. The sheet makes such a lovely underpinning for your beautiful tablescape. There is something so pretty about pink and green together. Enjoy your holiday, sweet friend!!!

The hydrangea are amazing. What’s the name of these?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Hi Mildred. I have always called them mop heads. Someone gave them to me over eleven years ago and their blooms are always deep blues and purples because of the soil.
