“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
Nice view of the Colorado River and Lady Bird Lake from my room in Austin. The bridge is Congress Avenue where about 1.5 million bats will take flight from underneath just before dark!
We always enjoy our sunflowers although we didn’t plant as many this year as usual.
An alfresco setting awaiting guests at Bottega!
Mae loves to pick flowers and smell them too. She won’t get much fragrance from vinca!
Linguine with Gulf shrimp, garlic, cherry tomatoes, and basil at Bottega Cafe!
I thought my ability to hold still for a pic had diminished or my camera was going crazy but then realized this looks the same way to the eye!
It is actually a sculpture called Forever Bicycles! And this too is in Austin near the running trail by the river.
An appetizer waiting for a passing Monarch Butterfly. They like milkweed!
” Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God…
…And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:16-17

Mae would love my Winter violets right now, very fragrant and filling in vacant spots everywhere in the front garden.

Is it really cold where you live, Cath?

I know bats are beneficial, but 1.5 million give me the heebie jeebies!! Tell Ella Mae I love her shoes! Much to be thankful for and pray about this week…my sweet 93 y.o. mother-in-law has finally decided she is moving from FL to live about 10 minutes from us. And my darling sister is having surgery this week to fix the problem that ruined her big birthday party.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You have a lot going on. Praying all goes well with you MIL and your sister.
Sue says
Always enjoy your posts, Pam, so uplifting, your flowers are beautiful and flourishing, Mae seems to love flowers like her grandmother. Have a blessed day.

Beautiful as always, Pam. I agree with Roxanne about the bats. I am not fond of them, even though I know they are so beneficial. We have had one get in the house from time-to-time.
Ella Mae is so precious, she is going to be a gardener ~ I just know it. All the photos are wonderful and I can certainly taste the pasta dish, I just may try to create that. And, another glorious sunset ~ always a favorite of mine.
Have a wonderful day and week. Many blessings to you and your dear family.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I am not thrilled with bats either. The pasta dish was perfect, I think you could make it. I had them leave off the Calabrian chili.

I hope you were able to enjoy Austin before the summer heat hit.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Hi Linda. The hubby was in Austin on business last week and I chose not to tag along because of the 100+ temps.
Kari says
I always love your beautiful garden and it’s bounty of flowers. So pretty. As far as the bats….I don’t care for them but I know they are beneficial to nature so I let them be. We once had a bat enter our home through the fireplace when we lived in the mountains of New Mexico….another story for another time. Just suffice it to say we all donned hats and brooms and finally managed to get him out of the house. LOL
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Kari, I am not fond of bats either. They frighten me when they swoop! Have a wonderful week!

Everything is tranquil and gorgeous as always. I had one tall sunflower grow and bloom this year and next year want to figure out what I did wrong. Perhaps a new location will bring me more like yours!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Try changing locations for sure!

It is so funny that you mention bats! My sister in law just went to a place in Texas Hill country where you can view them leaving their cave like dwelling at sunset. She showed us a video of a million or more. She is looking forward to going back at sunrise to watch them nose dive back into their ground dwelling!
Your pictures are fabulous! Ella Mae is looking fabulous next to those beautiful Vincas!

Thank you Nancy, Happy Monday!
