“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
Greetings lovely friends! It has been a busy week so far, but a productive one. Many of you have asked about an update on the dining room. As you know, we painted our red walls and I am loving the new color. I haven’t had any time to select a new table and chairs or fabric for window treatments. We also painted two bedrooms this summer and there are more changes happening. I will keep you posted. Now let’s go out to the garden where there are also changes, but they are the natural ones that happen. You will notice that I am way behind on weeding, but I hope to catch up this weekend.
You can certainly tell it is late August in our garden…
…however, with ample rain everything is green…
…hydrangeas are taking on soft shades of pink!
The branches are heavy with the weight of the large blooms!
The sunshine ligustrums are vivid against the fading colors!
Purple fountain grass has put on its tall plumes!
The zinnias, beyond the bronze statue, have been broken from recent high winds. We are trying to salvage the remainder of them with stakes.
This has become a favorite spot over the last few weeks. You can see more of our picnic spot here, in case you missed it. The ginkgo will have beautiful gold leaves by early November!
It is time to cut and start drying the hydrangeas.
The garden changes seem to come too quickly!
Late afternoon on a cloudy and rainy day, the crepe myrtles seem to frame the garden statue!
You don’t want to miss The Gardens Galore Party on Monday. You can link up anything that has to do with gardening. If you are not a blogger, but you have an interest in gardening you will definitely be inspired!
Thank you for your sweet visits and the comments that you leave. You all are wonderful blessings!

Well it is all looking very inviting on a hot day. Looking forward to seeing your dining room when it is finished.
Thank you so much Cath❤️
Beautiful every day! Ours is beginning to change too. I’m happy with the way we are ending the summer here. It has been hot but we’ve recently had rain and it sure has helped the health of all the plants.
Stacey, rain has been helpful this summer. We haven’t had to water very often. Have a wonderful day!
August is a tough month for Southern gardens, but yours still looks amazing to me Pam! Beautiful!
Jenna
Jenna, August is normally so dry, but rain has been plentiful this summer!
I know, for the first time my yard looks half way decent 🙂
Rain certainly provides nourishment.
How beautiful! The garden is changing here a little too. I am looking forward to doing some more planting this fall.
Thank you Penny. Have a beautiful Thursday!
Even the changes in your garden are beautiful. We had two big hail storms the end of May that devastated my garden but God has been so kind as He has re grown everything. The purple clematis on the arbor was stripped, but it has regrouped and in August when everything here usually stops blooming, it is now in full bloom.
I know the clematis makes you happy. Have a /beautiful day, Alice!
I always enjoy a visit to your beautiful gardens! The changing colors of the hydrangeas is gorgeous! I’m behind on my weeding, too. We have been getting some rain showers, and that always seems to make the weeds grow. I can’t wait to see your new dining room. I know it will be beautiful! Happy Thursday, sweet friend!!!
Thank you my friend. Things aren’t moving as fast as I had hoped!
Hi, I’m from Katherine’s Linkup Party, and I’m so glad I’m on your site. Your garden is beyond gorgeous! Shortly after I moved into this home, I adopted two eight week old puppies who were into everything! My yard had been a dumping ground for nails and screws for years and to keep my little ones from swallowing harmful things, I’ve had four inches of my yard removed. Now I’m not sure how to start over with landscaping, and I’m frustrated. You’ve certainly inspired me, however. I, too, am a woman of faith. Wishing you all God’s blessings, Brenda
Pam, your garden is so gorgeous, any time of year. I do love the color the hydrangeas take on – we will see that color on ours around mid September. I especially enjoyed the photo of your ginkgo, a most special tree to me. I hope you will capture a photo of her when she is dressed in gold.
So anxious to see your dining room, I know it will be wonderful. Have a beautiful weekend, my friend.
Thank you Sandra. Blessings for a beauty-filled day!
It is amazing how God sort of eases us from one season to the next, isn’t it? We start to see signs around us that a change is coming. It reminds me of life and how that is the same way it works. He is so faithful to often give us time to accept the idea of change before it happens, though sometimes change is thrust upon us without warning. Either way, His grace is sufficient. Thank you for always reminding me of that. Have a wonderful day!
Cheryl, His grace is sufficient my friend. Wishing you a joy-filled day!
Pam, you have done an amazing job planning your garden so you have beauty every season. It is just beautiful. It was a most beautiful day here yesterday. Fall is in the air. I am more than excited to see your new dining room. I can imagine that a lot of planning has gone into this as your DR was so beautiful. Postscript: Look at Ribbon in my Journal
Goodness, Pam! Your garden is gorgeous. My garden and I are busy trying to beat the heat. Love the sunshine ligustrums. Have a fun filled week.
Pam, what ever the season; your garden is still a delight! My garden is starting to wind down as well. Although, recent rains has helped it to look more alive and it’s quite green. I have lots of pops of yellow and my Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangeas are so pretty! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Jann, your garden always looks amazing!
Oh my!Just stunning…Made me smile!Hugs!
Thank you Maristella!
Amen to the scripture Pam!
Change is delightfully immersive in the garden! Not necessarily in life though…but I’m glad His Word is unchanging.
Blessings,
Jennifer
Amen, His Word never changes!
I have the same kind of things happening in my gardens. I had to support my Annabelle hydrangeas because they got too heavy after some rain. I always enjoy seeing your gardens- such a lovely place to be!
Thank you so much Liz, Happy Gardening!
This post was a party for the eyes. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful spot in God’s creation.
Thank you Libby!
Oh, this was glorious, Pam. Of course, it was beautiful, as your gardens always are, but with the wonderful changes with the season, even more magical.
Thank you Jeanie!
Thank you dear Jeanie, changes are coming for sure!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing! I found you via Dishing it and Digging it, and I’m so glad I did!
Pam, Your garden is beautiful in its August glory! Don’t you love the burnished color of those big hydrangea blooms?! We planted three sunshine ligustrums to add to a border behind my Potting Shed this spring. I probably wouldn’t have noticed them at the garden center if I hadn’t seen yours in your garden. ♥
Thank you Mary. The garden got a good dose of rain yesterday afternoon and it was needed!
Your garden is absolutely gorgeous and dreamy! Thanks for sharing it!
Thank you Heidi. I visited your blog, I love the way you incorporated the old rusty bed spring, but I couldn’t find a way to comment.
The “sunset” of your gardens are as beautiful as the “sunrise”
Thank you Shirley!
Pam, your garden always leavs me feeling awe struck. It is so lush and gorgeous! I’d find myself never wanting to leave. August here has been a tough one for my garden. We need some refreshing rain! Thanks for sharing with us. It is truly a treat for me!
Sarah, I love a garden party! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
