“fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
Hello sweet friends. As Florence makes landfall today, my heart is very heavy for all those who live in harm’s way. My thoughts are with you and I am praying for your safety. I do know and can rest in this: God is and will remain in control…even in a potentially tragic time like this.
As we enter into the fall season, the garden is starting to fade…bringing out a whole new look. Today we will take a stroll around to see how much it has changed! You can see all of my gardening posts here. I want to remind you that Monday, September 17 will be our last Gardens Galore Link Party for 2018. I welcome all garden posts, or garden related posts, and if you have your porches or patios decorated for fall you are welcome to link those. It has been so hot here, I haven’t even bought pumpkins or mums. Grab a glass of iced tea and join me in my fading garden!

The sunshine ligustrums are still bright and haven’t faded at all, but…
…the vanilla strawberry hydrangeas have faded…
The adagio maiden grasses have stopped growing, but still have their beautiful plumes.
Our unknown vine at the back of the fence has slowed down. Butch had to keep it cut to prevent it from climbing on the roof of his workshop!
The apricot drift roses have put on a new flush of colorful blooms, not as prolific as their first.
I love an early morning fog over the garden, it seems almost magical!
…and textures are hinting of fall’s soon coming arrival!
Zinnias are still blooming, and I love this glamour shot!
Be sure to come back on Monday at 7 AM central to link up your garden, garden related, or autumn porches.
I am so thankful for each of you following our everyday living. Hugs xoxo

Love seeing the transition of your garden…definite reminder that fall is coming. I marvel at the planning of your garden so you have such beauty every season. My porches are cleared anticipating higher winds than usual because of the storm. Praying for everyone in the path of this storm. As you so eloquently reminded us, God is our Protector.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Dianne. Prayers for all, stay safe sweet friend!

Seeing the storm drop to Cat 2 as it nears the coast makes me think God definitely had a hand in that. It is mind boggling to think it is the size of SC and NC combined. Praying for friends and family all over the state. My throngs of hummingbirds suddenly disappeared yesterday as if they know something is coming. I always feel sad when they leave for good each Fall. Pam, your garden shots in the fog are just so beautiful.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Roxanne, my prayers continue for all of you who will get so much wind and rain. The storm is so large, but a cat 2 is so much better than what they had thought. Hugs ❤️

Pam, your garden is still gorgeous even as summer is fading. I was thinking some of those bronze colored hydrangea blossoms would be so pretty in a fall arrangement. The photograph of the morning fog is so pretty. I’m with you I’m sending my thoughts and prayers to those in the path of this terrible storm. Enjoy your day, sweet friend!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Shannon, wishing you a beautiful Thursday!❤️

Oh, I love your garden, fading or not. It must be so rewarding and joyous to live in this wonderland of beauty you’ve created. Except for the front yard, my courtyard and tiny backyard are solid mud. When the rain stops, I’m going to plant zoysia grass and build a wooden playground for my dogs. No one goes back there except them, and they need something fun to do. Brenda

Tis sad to see gardens go but reassuring to know they’ll return.

Yes, autumn brings a certain melancholy!

Pam, your garden is beautiful at every stage. I so love your photos of the garden in the fog – something about fog I love. I enjoyed my stroll with you.
The news this morning is so much better about the storm. Prayers for the safety of everyone involved.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Sandra. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Your photography as usual is outstanding. I love the ones with the fog in the distance. They seemed other worldly. Do you deadhead the hydrangeas and cut back the grasses? It would be hard for me to give up working in your garden come winter or not as I love getting my hands in the dirt, and it has its own beauty through all seasons.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Alice. Butch cuts the grasses down to the ground each year, and I will deadhead the hydrangeas in November. It was 97 yesterday and we are in need of rain. I hate to mention rain with our fellow Southerners experiencing catastrophic flooding. Blessings and hugs

This whole post is beautiful and shows perfectly the garden transition. But I think my favorite photo is the one with the fog– it truly is magical. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens with us fairly rookie gardeners. 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Angie, I am still learning! Happy gardening!

Isn’t it amazing how each season has a beauty all its own? Even in the transition from summer to fall, God’s glory can be seen in the changing colors. So happy to visit with you today, sweet friend. I have very limited internet access right now, so wanted to hop over here and say hi while I had a few minutes to do so! God bless you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I always enjoy your visits, Cheryl! Blessings and hugs!

Bendiciones
Dolores
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Gracias querida Dolores. El huracán ha causado grandes inundaciones y ha habido pérdidas de vidas. La situación no es buena Te deseo un maravilloso fin de semana. Abrazos, Pam

Oh, wow, I’m really seeing some noticeable changes in your garden, Pam, but still beautiful. Mine still seems stuck in summer, still going pretty strong. I’m having to continually cut my annuals away from toppling over the edging so as not to kill the grass, which is still very green. The only thing disappointing me right now is the fact that our tree removal has yet to be completed due to intermittent rains which keep the ground too saturated for the heavy equipment (even with pads beneath). Florence is expected to bring rain all next week, so we wait. I missed the last garden party, but hope to join the next one. I take the photos, and there they sit, in their folder, just waiting to be seen. 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Rita, we are in need of rain. Over the past three weeks, we have had little rain. Your garden seems to be thriving, and mine is drooping. I am glad you can join the last Gardens Galore Party for the year.

I get so sad when it all starts to fade. Still a dazzler but a quiet dazzler. I hope you don’t get too much rain with the storm — I know you’re out of it but I have a feeling the rain will sweep the south,
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jeanie. We actually need rain, but not days of it. It is a scary time for our southern neighbors.
