“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Psalms 73:26
Hello sweet friends and welcome to Floral Friday! Can you believe that tomorrow is the first day of autumn? I am excited to welcome my favorite season! Although it doesn’t feel that way outside, I want to go by what the calendar says, not the thermometer! I am joining my talented blogging friends to kick off the fall season with an apple themed Floral Friday. I remember as a child bobbing for apples in a large galvanized tub…picking up apples that fell from our sweet neighbor’s yard that were a little tart but tasty…and best of all, my beautiful mother’s fried apple pies and straight-from-the-oven apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. After all, apples and autumn just go together!

Our little side area, away from the garden, has become a favorite spot for alfresco dining. I love its rustic feel with a picnic table and split rail fence, just a little bit of country living that we enjoy!
With our common theme of apples, I chose to use them in several different ways. They surround my floral arrangement of mums, alstroemeria, beautyberry, dried seed pods, and blush nandina placed in an ironstone pitcher.
For more apple and floral inspiration, you will find the links for Lidy, Mary, and Shirley at the bottom of this post.
The tapestry’s autumnal colors made it a great choice for a tablecloth.
A small basket is filled with apples…
…my home-made rustic apple spice cake is presented on a wooden cake stand…
…and a red delicious apple that is halved becomes a statement when placed under a cloche.
Johnson Brothers vintage “Harvest Time” is a recent find and it was perfect for our apple theme. You can see how I used it here.
Hot apple cider is a fall favorite!
It was a beautiful sunny day on Wednesday when I set the table, but I was having to use my best imagination to pretend it was fall when it was in the 90’s!! September has been our hottest month of the summer.
It is supposed to cool down next week, just in time as we leave for the Rocky Mountains!
I had this idea as I was clearing the table to place the floral arrangement on the split rail fence. I love the rustic elegance!

Swoon Pam…I love all your rustic and elegant details from your beautiful tapestry, pitcher of blooms, delicious cake and JB Harvest Time! Your picnic setting in the shade with your fence backdrop looks so inviting. We had our 8th hottest summer in 80 years and no ‘fall-like’ temperatures in the foreseeable future. I hope your trip to the Rocky Mountains provides you with a taste of fall and reprieve from the heat. Thank you for another beautiful Floral Friday. ♥
Thank you Mary. Hopefully fall is soon-coming with cooler temps! Have a beautiful weekend!?
Lovely as usual, Pam! Apples signal fall is coming to me too!
Thank you Carole!
So, so pretty, Pam. Your arrangement is lovely and I do love the tapestry you used as your tablecloth. I would certainly enjoy a slice of your apple cake to go with my coffee this morning.
We are to have a cool down next week also – looking forward to begin putting the garden to bed.
Have a wonderful trip!
Thank you sweet Sandra. My garden looks tired and weary. Have a beautiful Friday dear friend???

Love the whole set up!
Thank you Penny???
The protagonists are the apples this time, and, by the way, the arrangements they have made with them are beautiful.
The tapestry caught my attention because of how beautiful it is and because it fits perfectly with the whole.
You’ve made an autumnal set … (although time does not know … shihhhhh) wonderful.
Dolores
Dolores, gracias mi amigo! No puedo esperar a temperaturas más frescas, cambio de hojas y el clima de suéter! ¡Te deseo un hermoso fin de semana! Abrazos, Pam
Yes Pam, your arrangement is true rustic beauty. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful time in the Rockys.
Thank you so much Sandy. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Your arrangement is simply gorgeous Pam! I love the combination of elements you used, the seed pods just make it! It is impossible not to crave apple something after seeing your alfresco fall table, simply stunning! As a child one of my favorite things was visiting a roadside stand for fresh apples and cider, you have brought back wonderful memories of that…You’ve inspired me to run to TJ’s this morning to get flowers for a fall arrangement!
Jenna
Thank you dear Jenna, I love apples and autumn. Hopefully we will get more fall-like weather soon. ?????

Thank you Kari, I would love to sit at the table and enjoy sweet conversation with you!
Beautiful arrangement, Pam, and even more so by your placement in that’s area of your garden. I love that your worked in the serviceberry and nandina. Those dishes! Falling hard for it all.
Extremely hot here too, but supposedly some rain tonight is bringing cooler, fall temps. I hope! Enjoy your weekend.
Ugh, please overlook the typos of handheld shenanigans.
Thank you Rita, have a beautiful weekend!
Pam, what a beautiful arrangement! I have to tell you, that scripture is one of my personal favorites! I love it so much, and there have been times in my life where I can say it saved me. 🙂 Your apple post is a delight, not just beautiful, but you have showcased everything apple, I can almost taste the apple cake from here and smell that cut apple. Wishing you a glorious weekend, precious friend, xoxo Lidy

Opening your post to see this tapestry and centerpiece was jaw dropping beautiful. The plates, cake and rustic background makes for a perfect fall setting even though the temps say something else. Enjoy your trip. As Lidy said, I too love the scripture.
Thank you sweet friend. Enjoy the first day of autumn ???
Pam, I love your setting for your Floral Friday fall table. Your arrangement is stunning in that pitcher surrounded by apples. Your choice of flowers and dried pods look so good on the tapestry cloth.

Pam, I love your combination of elegant rustic details! I also like the seed pods and use them in a lot of my own arrangements. I hope y’all have a lovely trip to the Rockies–I’ve never seen them except in pictures. The brilliant yellow of the aspen trees always look so beautiful! My prayers for a safe trip and big hugs!
Thank you Bobbi. Have a wonderful first week of autumn!
Your tapestry was a lovely choice for a tablecloth. Perfect colors, perfect design, perfect texture. It wonderfully set off your new china.
Thank you so much, Sandra!
Beautiful photos! Now I have a hankering for a crunchy apple! Very welcoming.
Thank you so much. Happy Autumn!
You convinced me that it is Fall at your house even though like you we are still having summer at our house. Such beauty where ever the eye decides to land.
Thank you dearest Libby!
What a stunning arrangement and charming setting for dining alfresco. It has been hotter than blazes here, and I haven’t been able to dine outside since April, if you can believe it. Fall appears to have finally arrived, so I hope to change that a bit. I have been replacing containers of spent vegetable plants on the open portion of my deck with pots of mums, and even though it’s still too warm, at least it looks like fall. You did a beautiful job with your arrangement, and I love your Johnson Brothers dinnerware. I am a huge fan of theirs and would like to have it all!
Thank you so much Pattie. It has rained at my house all week, but I know fall weather will eventually come!
Such a beautiful arrangement and table setting! I just love the colors of fall and your use of apples!
Thank you for visiting Loni!
Very pretty. Looks like the location of a fall wedding shower… very elegant.
Thank you Carrie!
I love the apple theme! They certainly do signify fall to me. We are finally getting wonderful fall weather. The split rail fence is a beauty! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Thank you Karen!
