“All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.”
Proverbs 16:2
Monday morning greetings sweet friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We arrived home last night from three days at SanDestin, one of the prettiest beaches anywhere. However, the weather was just like it has been at home, cloudy and gray. It was the first time that I had ever been to the beach during the winter months. We were there for a beautiful wedding of our long-time friends’ daughter. We were surprised how crowded it was, maybe due to President’s Day Weekend. On our drive home we saw lots of trees and flowers blooming…it is much too early. Speaking of flowers, it is the third Monday of the month which means it is Monday Morning Blooms with my flower loving friends. I am so glad that you are here for roses and halos, please come in out of the rain!
We are always challenged with a common theme and today it is incorporating citrus! I love that we all seem to have a different approach to our common theme.
You will find the links at the bottom of my post for my talented friends Mary, Lidy, and Shirley!
Roses were most plentiful last week because of Valentine’s Day. It was so easy to add Halo oranges to the pink “sweet unique” and white “Eskimo” roses. Both are hybrid tea roses, with the Eskimo being often used for bridal bouquets!
So what is a halo orange? It is a mandarin that is also known as a cutie! It is easy to peel, very sweet, and seedless. Their small size was perfect to add to the arrangement. This past Christmas I used halos for the first time to make my beloved Mom’s fabulous ambrosia…it was delicious! Ella Mae loves the halos and I don’t have to worry about seeds.
Another variety of orange that I love is the Cara Cara that is pictured above . Wikipedia says it is a medium sized navel that is seedless, sweet and low in acid and characterized by little to no pith and easy, clean separation from the rind. The flavor is more complex than most navel varieties and has been described as evoking notes of cherry, rose petal, and blackberry. You can see the beautiful pinkish red flesh in my photo, it is an excellent tasting orange and I highly recommend.
The floral arrangement was placed in my American Atelier “Baroque” soup tureen. A plastic container was placed within the tureen along with wet floral foam. The halo oranges were added first using floral picks. After adding the oranges, greenery was used as the base to hide the foam. Roses filled in all of the space along with seeded eucalyptus. It was very simple…I will one day try my hand at showing you a tutorial.
There is no need to bake orange rolls when you can buy Millie Ray’s baked close by in Birmingham, Alabama. The company had its beginnings when Millie Ray baked her first batch for her garden club in Homewood…the rest is history. They are so delicious that restaurants even serve them!
My everyday china, “fruit rapture” by Mikasa ties into the citrus theme with lemons on the pattern.
Oranges and lemons fill a pair of hurricane vases and lemon napkin rings are used with lemon-colored napkins!

Beautiful Pam! I love your roses paired with your Halos! The pop of orange is so bright and cheery and paired with your pink and white roses. Your tureen makes the perfect vessel for your flower arrangement served up on your tree slice charger. Cara Cara oranges are a favorite of mine and I always pick some up when they’re in season. I’d love to pull up at chair at your table and help myself to a delicious orange roll and enjoy your pretty table. I’m so sorry your weekend was a wash out at the beach. Crazy weather…I’m afraid all our plants that are budding due to our warm February weather will ultimately be frost nipped. Thank you a chance to get out of the rain and flower therapy this morning. I always look forward to starting my week with my flower loving friends. ♥
Mary, I would love for you to join me for coffee and orange rolls this morning.❤️
Stunning Pam!! I just love the color combination of the flower arrangement!…the pink and orange reminds me so of a favorite dress I wore in high school (I think I just dated myself). Halos..cuties…I have to keep them in my house whenever they are available as we love them…being a former Florida girl, I love citrus of any kind. I love the hurricanes filled with the beautiful colors of the oranges and lemons…such a most simply beautiful presentation to adorn your beautiful table. We used to go to a restaurant where their specialty was homemade orange rolls…so I am so very fond of them!…so the next time I am in the Birmingham area, we need to definitely make Millie Ray’s a stop!!…Happy MMB day Pam…such a treat to be a part of this with you, Lidy and Mary today!!! Have a most beautiful day!
Thank you sweet Shirley! I wish you were here to share an orange roll this morning❤️
All of you ladies are thrilling me with the citrus flower arrangements. Orange is not a favorite color but these are beautiful mixed with so many different colors which proves that everything God made is beautiful. I haven’t tried the Cara orange but will now because they are less acidic and if Miss Ella Mae loves Halos will indulge also.
Thank you dear Alice. Have a wonderful day!
So pretty Pam…and Halos are always a favorite and I make orange rolls all the time as I can not get enough of them. I would definitely make Millie Ray’s a stop-over next time we are in the Birmingham area. Your urn and flowers are so pretty on any gray day and I look forward to each Monday and thee “girls” contributions to “flowers”. I would love to sit with a cuppa at your beautiful dining table, bubbling over with oranges.
Monday morning blessings to you dear friend.
Thank you so much. Would you share your orange roll recipe with me Kari?
Simply perfect, Pam. Your table is stunning and I would be so happy to be there enjoying a cup of tea with you and one of those orange rolls. All while admiring your beautiful centerpiece. I thank you for a lovely start to my day. Have a beautiful week, dear friend.
Thank you Sandra. Wishing you a lovely week my fri d!
What a lovely pop of color on this gray, rainy Monday! The arrangement is exquisite in your soup tureen. We can’t get enough of those Cuties either. This is crazy weather for sure, and March can be a doozie. Don’t forget to look for the Super Moon… tonight at dusk in the East and tomorrow morning at sunrise in the West, then sunset again.
Thanks so much Roxanne. We are supposed to get 8-10 inches of rain this week. Our river is very high, and trees are budding too early. We will be watching for the Super Moon. Have a wonderful day!
Roses and Halos look nice together and the other elements join to make a delightful presentation. We all need a pick me up on these gray days and you did just that very creatively. Those orange rolls are calling my name this morning. I would love to indulge in a roll with my coffee today.
Thank you Bonnie. The rolls are really heavenly! Have a wonderful day❤️
Well, I’m a sucker for blue and yellow so you’d know I’d love the lemon arrangement. But those Halos really got my heart beating a little faster! I might have to add some of those to my shopping list today! These are incredibly pretty!
Thank you dear Jeanie. Have a wonderful day!
Pam, this is so pretty! The color combination of white and pink roses paired with the bright oranges is beautiful! The white soup tureen makes a perfect container. This arrangement makes me smile and think of spring. We are having a brief moment of sunshine this morning, but it is 25 degrees, and a winter storm is on its way. I hope you do a tutorial on this arrangement. I would love to see it. Enjoy your Monday, sweet friend!!!
Thanks so much sweet friend! This weather has been so crazy this winter. Enjoy your brief bit of sunshine!
Pam, this is gorgeous! The color combination of the white and pink roses paired with the oranges is so pretty, bright, and happy! It just makes me smile this morning. The white soup tureen is the perfect container. I would love to see the tutorial. Happy Monday, sweet friend!!!
Shannon, I received two comments from you. One said anonymous, but had your email.
Your bouquet is beautiful. I love Halo’s and Cara Cara!
Thank you Penny, have a wonderful week!
Such a beautiful color combination Pam! I love the roses with the little Cuties. Our little people adore those, and I am always sure to have them here at FrenchGardenHouse when they come by for a visit. Your table is so pretty, it’s always such a blessing to be part of Monday Morning Blooms with you, sweet friend. One day I hope we can gather around each other’s table with our MMB friends. I’ve never seen the Cara cara’s {believe it or not!} I’ll have to go search them out. Maybe only because we have an orange tree and I never shop for oranges. They look and sound delicious! What a happy beginning of our week, thank you! xoxo Lidy
Thank you my friend! It would be so wonderful if we could all get together sometime. I have only met our sweet Shirley in person and she is a doll! Wishing you a wonderful week! xoxo
Beautiful arrangement Pam! Love the colors; they’re so cheerful! Cara Cara oranges & halos are a favorite at our house and well. Your table looks so inviting with your pretty dishes and those orange rolls look delicious. The hurricane vases complement the theme wonderfully. We’re headed into another week of rain too & am really sorry you didn’t get a break from it at the beach. Happy Monday! Clara ??

Thank you Cheryl! Many blessings to you my friend!
Pam, honestly, the centerpiece you’ve prepared is spectacular. I confess that I have never seen roses with oranges and the result is very beautiful.
I do not know the name of the halos, I would say they are tangerines … And I also want to highlight the beauty of the tureen, it is a fantastic piece. Thank you for showing such beauty because that is also a sign of affection.
Dolores
Amor y abrazo, Pam
