“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
Jeremiah 17:10
Happy Thursday! Is it raining in your neck of the woods? It seems that we are in the monsoon season. Rain, rain, and more rain! We are currently under a flood watch through Friday. I can’t remember a January and February that had this much rain. On the bright side, it gives plenty of opportunity to stay indoors and catch up on a favorite hobby…reading! For the past couple of years I have been reading book after book of historical fiction…I finish one, and begin another. I decided this year to keep a list of all the books that I read. If only I had done that since my passion for reading began in the fifth grade. I could talk about books forever, but that isn’t what today’s post is about. With my Monday Morning Blooms sitting on the dining room table, I decided to set a tablescape. As I was putting the post together, it occurred to me that I had used fruit and flowers on several previous tablescapes. It is so easy to incorporate the two, they just seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly!
With the floral arrangement in place, it was so simple to add six place settings!
“Fruit rapture” by Mikasa was my obvious choice. Green placemats add texture to the bare wood of the table!
Hurricane vases were filled with oranges and lemons for Monday Morning Blooms’ citrus theme. I have often used them to hold different fruits for tablescapes.
The swirled glasses pair beautifully with the dishes. I found them at Tuesday Morning many years ago.
It is so easy to incorporate fruit and flowers for a centerpiece. A bowl of fruit makes a lovely centerpiece all by itself.
The lemon napkin rings were on sale for fifty percent off at Sur La Table a couple of years ago!
Below are a couple of examples of how I used fruit and flowers that are very simple!
A blooming pineapple is an easy way to incorporate the use of fruit as a vase for flowers. Melons also make great vases for flowers!
By simply coring the pineapple and scooping out the flesh, you can place your flowers in a small jelly jar or directly into the pineapple.
Fruit n’ flowers were used as a centerpiece runner! This is the simplest way to create a centerpiece using both flowers and fruit. Using small glass jars and filling them with garden flowers, I then added fern fronds and sprigs of baby’s breath to fill in. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, and oranges were placed in the runner, halving some to add a pop of color and interest.
The possibilities are endless for fruit and flower centerpieces! Be fearless, and give it a try! Thank you for each visit and the comments that you leave. I hope you will come back tomorrow as Butch and I share a personal story! Wishing you all a joy-filled day!

Pam, I love this post. It is so colorful and beautiful, and it is needed to brighten our spirits with all of this rain! And I have never thought of using a fresh scooped out pineapple as a centerpiece; such a great idea!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear friend. The rain is relentless, but it will make us appreciate when the sun cams out again❤️

What happy place settings on such a dreary week! I’m hard pressed to pick a favorite, but I do really love the fruit and flower centerpiece. Sunflowers and zinnias just speak of summer. The weather is crazy…so far this week in Upstate S.C. we reached 67, then sleet, now thunder and lightning all night. But our two lovey-dovey ducks have re-appeared on top of the duck box, so that means Spring is coming!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good morning Roxanne. Our weather patterns have been crazy. I think we will appreciate sun and spring! Have a wonderful day!

Good morning, Pam. Such a lovely and cheerful table. Love everything about it and especially those napkin rings. We have had quite a bit of rain as well. We had flood warnings yesterday. However, your cheerful posts help us all hold on until spring arrives in all her glory.
Happy day to you, sweet friend!

Thank you Sandra. I look forward to sunny days my friend!

Your beautiful posts really do brighten our days and this is an extraordinarily beautiful one. Sharing your talent is a gift to us. It sounds like all of us are experiencing unusual weather. I have never heard such thunder as I did last night. According to my garden, Spring is on its way. I just hope my plants can survive the cold and ice. Thank you beautiful friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Dianne. We had so much thunder and lightning yesterday that it frightened Ella Mae. I am concerned about frost and freezing temps ruining a colorful spring.

Oh Pam, once again, beautiful and happy. I’m getting ready to pull together a table for a Cork Poppers gathering and I hope I can channel your wonderful sense of style, color and design. (I’ll probably end up with a vase or a bulb garden but I’ll WANT it to be Pam-worthy!)
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I will be looking forward to your table for Cork Poppers. Thank you Jeanie!

Oh, I needed this on another gray day. The fog is so thick I can barely see the houses behind us! At least the sleet has stopped.

Hopefully, the sun will once again appear!

Such a happy table. I’ve only done fruit and flowers once in an arrangement. You do it well. I enjoyed the other posts with fruit and flowers also.
You have had a lot of rain. Dreary and gloomy but not much rain here. Sun is out today. Very thankful.
It is supposed to be in the 80’s Friday and Saturday. Everything has buds. Things are all mixed up.

I remember you painting the pineapple one. I can’t wait to see the Monday Morning Blooms! Yes, the rain is getting to me, we need some sunshine. The Coosa River is going to flood if the rain doesn’t let up.

So beautiful and oh so cheery on this gloomy, rainy day Pam! I’m lovin’ your new color on your dining room walls as a backdrop for your beautiful tables ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
We have had a day of sunshine and wind, which is perfect drying conditions. The rain is supposed to be back on Wednesday and rain several days.

Your tables are always so pretty, I especially like this one and have done a lot of pinning. I have the same placemats and similar dishes. Living in Florida, the lemons and oranges would be perfect for this time of the year as it is harvest time for citrus.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Karen and for pinning! I love all citrus!

Pam, I really love it when a mix of colors are used in a tablescape. This one, with the winter fruit and pastels in the flowers and plates works so well together.
