“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9
Our hearts go out to so many who have suffered loss and devastation during recent flooding. This incredible photo is a wonderful reminder that God is Sovereign and that because of the Cross, we can have victory regardless of earthly circumstances ! Photo courtesy of Zack Zimmerman.
Even the aggravating dandelion that invades our lawns has it’s own beauty!
Flooding has not been a welcome sight, but this pic and the unusual reflections are only possible because of all the water!
Ella Mae has a new swimsuit and insisted on wearing it even though we are some weeks away from putting it to use!
Baked Alaska… Almond cake with Swiss meringue, raspberry curd, and cardamom ice cream. Thanks to Highlands Bar and Grill for making our Anniversary very special !
You may wonder if this cedar was caught in the act of falling but we assure you it is still standing; at least at the time of this writing !
We are getting teased a lot with spring like showings but with some temps predicted to be near 20 degrees over the next few days these scenes may be short lived!
This old gobbler is likely thinking about “hens” already so he may be shocked by the cold weather.
The blue sky has been rare in February and is certainly a welcome sight !
We were blessed with several dry days but rain has since returned. Hopefully we will not see the amounts we have seen in recent weeks.
”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”.

The picture of the crosses in the water is a quite sobering reminder of what people are going through. Ella Mae has the right idea to think ahead. Our weather guy reminded everyone that in the last 9 years, it has snowed 6 times here in S.C.!! All the animals are on the move. I walked out of my garage into a herd of deer…that was a first! Have a safe, dry, and warm week.
Roxanne Bernard says
…snowed here in March, I should say! Everybody starts getting itchy fingers to plant annuals and hang ferns!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
The largest snow we ever had was in March!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Roxanne. Be careful in that herd of deer, that is crazy! Wishing you a blessed Sunday!

God is everywhere, you sharing proves it over and over again.

Pam, the pictures of all the flooding are so sad. Prayers for all those who have been involved. Love the photo of the old gobbler, he is really close to your house. Those old cedar trees seem to stand even though they are bent, I believe there is a lesson in that for us. Precious Ella Mae becomes more lovely with every photo. I know she can hardly wait to be splashing in the water, wearing her new suit.
Wishing you and your family a lovely day and blue skies, dear friend.❤
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Sandra. The turkeys love the rain. They usually are in groups of 15 or more. But this gobbler is a loner! Happy Sunday!

Your little bathing beauty is adorable in her new suit! I am praying that the cold blast this weeks won’t kill all the happy blooming foliage…Wowza on the dessert, how fabulous and special! Stay dry today Pam!

Thank you Jenna. I fear the beautiful blooming trees will suffer! Happy Sunday

I love this post. The crosses that are baptized in the water, the renewing of the earth that shows the blooming trees and the green grass, Miss Ella Mae all set for Summet, even the dandelion because they are the first blooming things the hungry bees get to feast on after a long Winter. Country roads that remind me of our John Denver that left us to soon. It snowed here all day yesterday and I woke up to a zero temp but just looked outside and the sun is shining. Praise the Lord!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Amen, Alice! We are expecting low 20’s this week which will damage all of the blooming trees and flowers! Yes, we miss John Denver! Happy Sunday dear friend!
Linda Tietjen says
There is nothing like a “country road” to bring you back home if you were lucky enough to be raised in the country! Do love that John Denver song…warms the heart and soul! I so look forward to your simple and southern Sundays!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Linda. We do live in the country and still love John Denver’s music. Have a wonderful week!

Pam, The crosses in the water is a powerful picture as is the reflective water picture which is both gorgeous & tragic for those impacted. There are a 1,000 families along the TN river with homes totally underwater, only some rooftops are showing. There are so many people suffering around the country but God will provide as He promised & the crosses are a reminder of His awesome power & love. Our prayers are with those affected by the weather. Ella Mae looks ready for the pool! You captured her excitement perfectly in the photo! Her sweet smile & eyes are just so expressive. The nature pictures capture the beauty in “everyday life”, the horses, turkey, blue skies with a few clouds, blooming trees, the leaning cedar and the dandelion just begging for EM to pick, make a wish & blow! Sometimes we’re so busy we forget to be thankful for the “simple” things we take for granted. Thank you for reminding us! The desserts look delightful! We’re preparing for the extreme cold this week in TN as well. We’re filling the bird feeders & covering the faucets back up. Wishing you a relaxing Sunday. Clara ❤️

Thank you sweet Clara! Your observations always bring a smile. This afternoon tragic tornadoes hit our state with 22 reported deaths when I turned off the news. I am sure it will climb higher. The pictures are horrific. The weather will be cold here with damage to budding trees. Stay warm and we are praying for all those who have been impacted!

Thank you Jeanie and now the tragic tornadoes that hit our state this afternoon.

The news is reporting terrible tornados in Alabama. Praying for Jesus to keep all of you safe and to life them into the heavens away from His children.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, Thank you for the prayers for those who have been impacted by the horrible tornadoes this afternoon. The last report was 22 who had been killed in Lee County Alabama. This is about 120 miles south of us. I am sure there will be more deaths. Such a tragedy!

The rain has been prevalent in so many areas! But the flooding in your area is so very sad. The crosses in the water is unbelievable!
Ella Mae has the right attitude… if you can’t beat the rain join it! (She can wear her new suit and dance in the rain!) Lol! She is just so precious!
How is your daughter in law feeling by the way?
Hugs to you and happy Week to you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Nancy, and to the flooding our state was hit by tragic tornadoes yesterday with the loss of lives. DIL is feeling good, about three weeks until we welcome another baby girl. We are excited!

The crosses are a beautiful reminder of God’s love and provision. The country roads sure remind me of my childhood. I am so sorry to hear the terrible news of Lee County and read there were forty sent to hospitals besides the death toll of 22. I am praying for everyone affected. Ella Mae is very precious in her new swimsuit. I praise God for you Pam. You fill us with God’s word which is a balm to our souls even in the darkest moments.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Dianne, the devastation is heartbreaking. Thank you for praying for my fellow Alabamians.
Thank you for being a sweet blogging friend❤️

My heart goes out to all those affected by the floods, and oh, my, those awful tornadoes yesterday! It is heartwrenching to think of all of the ones who have lost their loved ones and property. I was thinking how they were all safe and alive in the morning, then how their lives had changed by the end of the day. We just never know what a day will bring forth, as the Word of God tells us, and we have to lean on God’s help in every moment. I heard on the news where one man said he just prayed and prayed to God as he was enduring the tornado. It was so pitiful. God bless and help all who are suffering. Surely He is a Friend that will never leave regardless what happens. I love little Emma’s new swimsuit, and I am sure she will have many hours of fun when the weather warms. She is so precious! So wonderful to visit with you, sweet friend. 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cheryl, we never know what a day might bring. Every time I see more reports of the devastation, I can only cry. Only God can give peace in the midst of such devastation! Thank you sweet friend!
Cheryl says
Sorry! I called Ella Mae “Emma!” Oh, my! I apologize. 🙂
