“”For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:12
Happy Monday sweet friends! I hope you each had a beautiful and pleasant weekend. Can you believe it is the first day of April, is time moving faster or am I just getting older?! It is also the first Monday of the month which means it is Monday Morning Blooms with my friends Shirley, Lidy, and Mary. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and pull up a chair for some lovely spring flower therapy!
Spring is bursting out all over! My Lady Banks roses are not quite at their peak, but still beautiful and I just had to show them to you. As I write this, the weather man is predicting a freeze warning for this morning. If that happens, it will be bad news for the roses and my snowballs blooms!
Our common theme for today is the use of a watering can. I used a vintage galvanized one and filled it with colorful spring blooms!
You will find the links for my talented friends at the bottom of this post.
When I first placed the flowers under the arbor, the tulips were slightly opened. Within five minutes they were completely opened, I don’t know if it was the temperature or the wind but I could almost see them opening like a fast motion time lapse!
The flowers are loosely arranged in the watering can. A loose arrangement is easy and perfect for a mix of flowers. Along with the tulips are coral bell azaleas, heirloom daffodils, Carolina jessamine, phlox, and hydrangeas. This colorful mix of flowers might be found growing in any Southern garden or yard.
Mockingbirds build in my arbor every year and they were unhappy that I had invaded their space! I decided to give them a break and moved the flowers to the shaded picnic area. I also feared for the top of my head!
I am smitten with the coral bell azaleas and the phlox!
You might remember that last summer we established the picnic spot beside a wooded area. It quickly became a favorite place for Ella Mae and me to play!
If one watering can of flowers is good, then two might be even better!
The redbud trees have been absolutely gorgeous this year. We have quite a few that are spread over our thirty one acres and I sweetly asked My Renaissance Man to cut some small branches. Forsythia is an early bloomer, but I still was able to find a little to mix with the redbud.
The twining Carolina jessamine vine is native to the Southeastern United States and is covered with fragrant yellow flowers!
I almost forgot to mention my new table topper. I fell for its cabbage roses and its vintage appearance. You might see it often on my tablescapes in the garden!

It’s a happy Monday as it is Monday Morning Blooms day!!…I so love that you shared your beautiful watering cans filled with the most beautiful flowers that in most part were gathered from your garden. Unfortunately lately, my garden resides at Trader Joe’s…I had to chuckle at the comment about the Mockingbirds!..I swoon over the arbor of Lady Banks roses….an arbor/gate is definitely in my plans for the new house. My Monday Morning Blooms friends truly inspire me as I plan the gardens…Again, it is always a treat to be in your gardens with you and I look forward to the height of Spring when your property bursts with beautiful flowers…Have a most beautiful day Pam!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Shirley! Those mockingbirds are aggressive, they will swoop down at you! Shirley, your gardens will be amazing! I can’t wait.
Mary says
Pam, You’re a girl after my own heart, “if one is good, two is better!” I’m green with envy over your garden blooms. We must be about 3 weeks behind you weather-wise. Our azaleas are just budding but the beautiful Redbuds are blooming. . .alas, there are none nearby for me to cut! I love seeing your colorful mix of ‘Southern garden blooms’ in your watering cans. The tulips are even more beautiful open! Thank you for the beautiful start to my week. I always look forward my Mondays and some flower therapy and my MMB friends. ♥
P.S. I have to get hopping on my Easter table, I’m way behind!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Mary. I am also behind, it has been so busy around here. The redbuds have truly been glorious this year!

Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Kim, wishing you a wonderful week!

You had me giggling about the Mocking Birds. Everything is such a delight when spring awakes the sleeping blooms. Your garden is proof of that. Your watering can filled with spring was exceptional! Loved it all!
We tried to cover our bougenvilla but the desert wind knocked it off. The frost got it all and We had to cut it all back… but new growth is happening as I type. I hope the cold frost stays far away from your roses and snow balls. Prayers!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Nancy. It got down to freezing last night, but it stayed so windy that there was no frost. Have a wonderful week my friend!
Bonnie Morgan says
So delightful, Pam! I love zinc watering cans and the loose arrangement is right down my alley! I love mixed flower arrangements and you have made this southerner feel right at home!
Your tablecloth is beautiful and perfect for your table under the arbor.
I do hope the cold will not harm your snowballs or Lady Banks.
Have a wonderful day. This is a very busy week!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Bonnie. Hopefully the cold snap didn’t create too much harm.
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says

Thank you Jeanie for all of your lovely visits!
Liz@ Home and Gardening With Liz says
What a beautifu spring mix of flowers! They look perfect so casually arranged on the table with that tablecloth. Gosh I hope you didn’t get that freeze. That would be so disappointing. It’s hard for me to imagine having plants as far along as you have. Lots to look forward to though!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Liz. It got down to freezing last night, but it stayed windy which prevented frost. Hopefully the beautiful trees and shrubs didn’t get nipped.

Pam, the arbor of your Lady Banks roses always makes a stunning setting. Your arrangements are breathtaking, and those tulips are so pretty! I am swooning over that gorgeous tablecloth. It will definitely be beautiful used in your garden tablescapes. On another note, I know all about those nasty late freezes. We were outside last night covering everything with blooms. I think I used every sheet and towel in the house-lol. I hope you have a most happy and blessed day, sweet friend!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Shannon, thank you for your sweet comments. I hope all of your beautiful blooms were spared. It got really cold here, but it stayed windy which prevented frost. Have a lovely week sweet friend!
Linda Tietjen says
Spring has sprung here on coastal NC as well! Enjoyed your beautiful colors in your tablecloth and arrangements! We have the yellow blooming Carolina Jessamine vines and I wonder if anyone else thinks they smell like “baby powder”?? Love visiting your blog especially your Sunday encouraging words and Scripture!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Linda for your thoughtful comments. Hum, I haven’t thought of “baby powder”, perhaps it does!

When I opened the first page, it was breathtaking. I know no other way to describe it. The floral cloth is beautiful and your arrangement goes with it perfect. I believe you were fortunate that the tulips opened up as they match this tablecloth. Your Lady Bank roses have always been a favorite of mine. One of my favorite posts ever. Thank you for bringing joy to our days.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You are so kind, Dianne. Thank you for your sweet comments. Have a lovely afternoon!

Thank you Chloe. It has been a beautiful spring!

Pam, Your watering cans are amazing! They’re bursting with gorgeous Spring colors & blooms. Love your beautiful new tablecloth. This year has been exceptional with the flowering trees & bushes loaded down with buds & blooms. We can only hope they won’t get frost bitten by a cold snap in the next couple of weeks. ? Your Lady Banks are outstanding. Mocking birds do defend their territory pretty aggressively but can you blame them as the setting is so inviting & gorgeous! They picked a lovely spot to nest. The watering cans on the picnic table picture would make a lovely card; all that would be needed is a short note. Have a wonderful week! Clara ❤️???
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Dearest Clara, that is a wonderful idea for a card! This spring has been remarkably beautiful. We didn’t get a frost last night because it was very windy. Let’s hope we don’t get a late cold snap. The mockingbirds even will swoop down at you if you are near their nest. Have a lovely afternoon.
the Painted Apron says
Oh Pam, your blooming watering can is perfection! I love the mixed personalities of the blooms you chose and the way the tulips are dancing! It looks amazing in your garden perched on the blooming tablecloth! I feel a painting coming on! Gorgeous!!

Pam, you made my week! What a lovely visit, I can’t describe how my heart has been filled with God’s wonder. Your Banks rose is stunning, such a sweet color isn’t it? Looks like spring has arrived over there. Your setting is so lovely, I wish I was joining you there. Instead, I am always blessed to be part of our Monday Morning Blooms friendship days. xo Lidy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Lidy. I wish you were here to see all of the trees in bloom. I love being a part of MMB with you precious friends❤️
Alice Genzlinger says
Love the Monday morning Flower Club. Just as soon as our blooming trees begin to bud the limbs are in danger of me and the shears. I want to force a few to bring them into the house to enjoy. I’m at least an entire month behind you there in NC so I’m dreaming of playing outside when the temperatures get above freezing.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Alice. Fortunately, it didn’t frost here last night!
Rita C. says

LOVE ! BEAUTIFUL !
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Cindy and wishing you a beautiful week!
Roxanne Bernard says
The watering cans are glorious! So interesting the tulips opened so quickly…they must have been thirsty! We have geese, ducks, and tufted titmice on their nests, but I don’t think I’ve ever had mockingbirds. April 1 is the magic date for me to hang all my hummingbird feeders, so even though it’s turning cold tonight, I just hung them out. My best friend and I have a contest every year to see who gets the first customers!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Roxanne. Mocking birds can be quite a nuisance. If you are near their nest, they will swoop down at you. Butch had cleaned and moved my little garden table and placed it under the arbor the afternoon before I was setting up. I had to scrub it down before I could set up my cloths because they had pooped all over it. They are a little aggressive. Hopefully, the hummingbirds will come soon. I haven’t seen one yet!
Rachelle says
I love the beauty of your garden, and the vintage watering can reminds me of sweet memories of my dad and how he loved his garden!

Pam, this has to be the most beautiful thing I’ll see all Spring! Love the watering cans and the way the loosely arranged flowers mimic, but don’t duplicate, the flowers in that gorgeous tablecloth. That rose-covered arbor just makes me happy!

I always enjoy a visit to your beautiful gardens….and so envious of all your pretty blooms. It is true we have constant blooms here in SW Florida but they are the same flowers…. giant hibiscus, bougainvillea, gardenia and plumaria….I like the spring forsythia and tulips and roses and of course my favorite the lilacs. You know the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.LOL The point is God created some very beautiful flowers for all parts of the world and your beautiful tablecloth and watering cans showcase the ones in your neck of the woods. I remember the picnic table and love how it abuts to the trees. Perfect plan B to protect the mocking birds …..and your head. Blessings sweet friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Kari. I always love reading your comments. Happy Friday!

Linda says
Swoon! Oh my goodness Pam this may be one of my all time favorite bouquets ever! There is just something about the variety and colors of flowers you chose that knock my socks off! The galvanized watering can is the perfect vessel and the beautiful tablecloth is a stunning backdrop. And the setting under the gorgeous yellow roses on the trellis just takes everything over the top!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Linda. I am so happy you like it! Have a wonderful week!
