“The earth is the Lord ‘s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.”
Psalms 24:1
Happy Tuesday sweet friends and I am so thrilled you are here. I am excited to share my first garden tablescape of the year. It is in celebration of the apricot drift roses that are in full bloom and more beautiful than ever before! You are invited to join me for simple pleasures in the garden!
Several of you have said that you aren’t familiar with drift roses. These repeat-blooming, compact roses are perfect for any size garden and they are easy to grow. They come in nine different colors and they have a heavenly fragrance. Ours are the apricot color and they were planted in 2015 when our garden was established.
Late Saturday afternoon as the fragrance of the roses was wafting in the breeze, I set a small table with tea and macarons to just enjoy a few simple pleasures!
Earl Grey tea is one of my favorites and I never turn down a macaron, especially lavender flavored!
Tea time is a chance to slow down, pull back and enjoy our surroundings.
-Letitia Baldrige
A green depression glass compote is filled with pistachio, lavender, and raspberry flavored macarons.
The petite tea pitcher holding the apricot roses was found in an antique mall for two dollars… it was missing its lid. It makes a perfect vase!
One of my simple pleasures are books, especially books on gardening and flowers!
Won’t you come into the garden? I would like my roses to see you.
-Richard Brinsley Sheridan
There is simply the rose; it is perfect in every moment of its existence.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
That man is rich whose pleasures are the cheapest.
-Henry David Thoreau
Thank you for your visit as I celebrated a few of life’s simple pleasures…sweet smelling roses, a cup of tea in a pretty china cup, and beautifully photographed flower and gardening books! I would love to hear from you, what are your simple pleasures?

Swoon Pam…how gorgeous! Flowers, books and tea in the garden are indeed some of life’s simple pleasures! Your garden is a couple of weeks ahead of ours. We have Popcorn Drift Roses, a cousin to your Apricot Drift variety. They are covered in buds. Enjoy your garden time & blooms! ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Mary, I can’t wait to see your popcorn drift roses. Wishing you a lovely week❤️
Liz says
Your table is lovely. Those drift roses are amazing and look so pretty on your table! Macaroons and tea sound perfect!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Liz! Have a beautiful week!
Kari says
Ohhhh Pam, you are definitely a gal after my own heart…I LOVE tea time and your drift roses setting in your garden is a perfect place for tea and crumpets, or in your case macarons. We all should stop and smell the roses literally and your life’s simple pleasures are a perfect way to do just that. The quotes you chose are fitting as well as beautiful. I have not tried to plant drift roses here in SW Florida….although I do have the red knock out roses in large pots and they bloom, but not profusely….which I am sure is due to the tropical climate we have. What a wonderful early/late afternoon tea time in your garden. Hugs and Blessings Always
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Kari. I know you are a tea drinker and how lovely it would be to have girl talk over a cuppa?
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Oh, Pam – glorious, glorious! I can smell the roses and they are heavenly. The quote by Sheridan has always been a favorite of mine. It is exactly what a gardener would say. Your table is lovely, perfect to enjoy the fabulous beauty of your garden. I especially love the little plate your lavender macaron is sitting on. I have a set of 4, teacups and saucers that were my mom’s. Such treasures we love.
As always, such a lovely post. I always feel like I am there with you. Have a beautiful week and enjoy these wonderful days.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sandra, we could talk for hours over tea and gardening! It would be bliss!
Carole @ From My Carolina Home says

That apricot color is delectable! I’d love an outfit in that exact shade. Sitting in your garden, smelling the roses and enjoying Earl Grey…life is grand. You always choose the most wonderful verses and quotations. Spring apparently is over here in SC, and we’ve moved directly to summer with temps in the high 80s!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Roxanne. It was 86 here yesterday but a nice breeze and low humidity, EM and I played outside! ?

Pam, I have Rose envy! Gorgeous table and the backdrop is spectacular! I spent some time at a garden center yesterday picking up some plants/flowers that I can temporarily plant now to transplant to the new house in the Fall. That is how anxious I am! I shall live vicariously through your gorgeous gardens of abundant flowers!

So lovely Pam! Love your garden tea table filled with goodies. It would be such a pleasant time to peruse your books and have conversation.
I had a lovely afternoon doing that on Easter Sunday with my daughter. It was such a pleasure that we don’t often have just sitting and talking and sharing without having to hurry.

Hi Pam, there is a Brighton charm that says Life blooms in color. That is what came to mind as I looked at your beautiful table setting and garden. We are having some May gray here near the beach. It is too cool to sit outside on our deck. So I got some fresh lilacs and roses to enjoy inside. Soon it will be warm enough to sit outside and enjoy tea and a good book. Thanks for your posts and sharing your talents and faith.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you so much Ramona! Fresh lilacs must smell remarkable in your home. Hopefully it will warm up nicely this week and feel more like spring!
