Our friend Bonnie @ Living With Thanksgiving shared this country church she discovered when forced to detour off the interstate. It is amazing what we can find when taking to the roads less traveled!
A summer view of the Cataloochee ski area from Gooseberry Knob.
Thanks to Appalachian Digital Media for sharing such an incredible photo!
While hiking in North Carolina we found what we were told were flame azaleas. We read they occur in a variety of colors.
Another grand porch with quite a view from The Swag’s Chestnut Lodge!
This mountain bunny was not bothered at all by our invasion of its space.
A Buckeye tree has a prominent spot atop Hemphill Bald along the east side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!
A light and refreshing appetizer!
Some pathways are simply very inviting and you feel a need to see where they lead!
Another color variation of the native azaleas in the southern Appalachians.
New growth and unusual light on this Blue Spruce looks like snow at first glance.
A rustic and welcome resting spot along the trail!
We remember the time when everyone was planting mimosas. It is not necessary now as they are thriving well on their own. The blooms definitely announce the arrival of summer. Nannie Kennedy always called them formosas.

Amazing beauty this morning, dear Pam. Love seeing the native azaleas – we have them in our mountains also. Mostly, we have a pale pink and the yellow you showed. Also, enjoyed the sweet church Bonnie discovered. I always prefer to travel the back roads. Wishing you and your beautiful family a lovely and peaceful Sunday.

Such beautiful photos of God’s great Creation. I love your theme of the road less traveled. Enjoyed Bonnie’s photo. That is why my camera is my companion always. We never know what beauty lies just around the corner. Remember your quote: “If we don’t see the beauty, we are just not paying attention.”

Thank you dear Dianne and reminding me of my quote! Have a wonderful week!

Great Sunday post as always. Thanks for the shout out today. I thought of you immediately as we came upon this church in Chilton county last week. The church was elegant and striking in its rural setting. Thank you for sharing the beauty of God’s creation every Sunday.
We have delivered our grands back to north Alabama and are traveling home today. Just bought some Chilton count peaches, tomatoes, okra and peas from Clanton.
Have a great Sunday.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I need some Chilton Co. Peaches. I know you enjoyed the grands!

A good collection of images of a truly beautiful and different nature, at least for me.
I stand out for being spectacular the image of the blue spruce, I have never seen anything like it, it is beautiful.
But all are spectacular and beautiful. Nature always gives us beautiful things, they are the gifts of God who loves us.
The bunny is very adorable.
A beautiful Sunday, thank you.
