A full moon rising over the mountains some fifty years after the first man stepped onto the surface! It’s been a big weekend for the “moon”!
If you are old enough, do you remember where you were when you saw the moon landing on TV 50 years ago yesterday?

Your gardens are fabulous! I plan on working in mine today and tomorrow. Weeding and dividing needs to take place!
Such a lovely Sunday morning with you, your gardens, and your precious pink sweetheart!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I am glad you finally got to see the moon landing😊 have a wonderful Sunday my friend!
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Oh, Pam, glorious photos this morning. Your wonderful post is always such a treat waiting for me in my email on Sunday morning.
I am happy Ella Mae loves pink as it is truly her color – it lights up her beautiful face. And, oh the fig preserves. I remember helping stir them when I was a little girl and later in VA. we had our own fig trees, so of course I made them. I will not show Mike your photo, he so loves them. Too cold in WV for fig trees.
I do remember where we were for the Moon Landing. Mike and I were with his best friend at his parents home. Ah – memories.
Your garden is a masterpiece and a gift for all of us that you so kindly share. Wishing you and your beautiful family a happy day and week ahead. Stay cool.❤
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much dear Sandra for your encouraging comments. Blessings always~

Pam, A wonderful compilation of pics! Your garden is magazine worthy! I love the glads! A beautiful color & I am with EM as pink is a favorite color of mine. The sunrise & moon pics are fabulous. My mom, grandma, & I watched the moon walk on TV with awe. I have enjoyed the 50th anniversary moon coverage as I can better relate now that I am much older. My mom always loved the moon & we would go outside to admire it on clear nights. She would always mention how good God was to us as we admired His gifts to us whether it was the moon, flowers, birds, etc. I echo the same sentiment God is so good to us! Have a blessed day! Clara🌕❣️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Clara. I so enjoyed your memories you shared about your mom, she and my mom were very much alike. God is so good, His good gifts are everywhere!

Those glads, that sunset, those figs, fabulous! You’re making the fig delicacies? Oh, I’ll bet your home will be heaven! And sweet Ella Mae. How fun to actually see your Sundays on a Sunday!
The moon. What a time 50 year ago. It’s still beautiful today.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jeanie, where has fifty years gone, seems impossible!
Heritage Hall says
Your Sunday photo treat is breathtaking … each and every one. No question, pink is Ella Mae’s
“signature color..” Is she as contemplative as she seems? There is a mature soul shining through that little one. I was glued to a TV screen at the landing, but cannot recall where… may
have been out of the country about that time… That restoration project would be engrossing to
do and to watch. Your scripture verses and gardens give joy and a heart filled with gratitude this
day… Bless you and Butch and Family. Cooler air on the way .
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you so much Mary. I was glued to the TV that night fifty years ago, sigh…where has time gone? Blessings always~

Lovely. I was home, watching on TV. I still have our town’s original newspapers from that day 50 years ago! Have a relaxing Sunday.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Rita, that is great to still have the newspapers. Have a wonderful week!
Alice Genzlinger says
Will never forget the moon landing. I felt like any second Alford Hitchcock was going to come on the tv screen to tell us it was all a movie. Walter Cronkite brought it to life in his calm voice.we have been so blessed to live during a time when we had instant coverage of all the new and latest news making breaking discoveries.
Your garden is just beautiful and Miss Ella Mae is a real beauty in it.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Alice. It was so historic, I will never forget it. How is your hand?
Alice Genzlinger says
Thank you so much for asking. Starting Physical Therapy Thursday. They are adjusting the pain pills thank goodness as addiction is not something I want. Am able to move all the fingers on that hand without pain and the thumb moves freely also. Thank you for your prayers as this has brought on anxiety that’s new and hard to deal with.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good news about your movement. I hope the physical therapy goes well. I will continue to pray❤️
Deborah says
Seeing those figs brought back some wonderful memories of when I was a little girl. My elderly next door neighbor had a fig tree in her back yard and she would let my friend and me eat all the figs we wanted. They were so delicious!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Deborah, I love figs and enjoy making the preserves. We had them on home-made biscuits yesterday morning!

Always the images they show us are very good and today they are very special. Ella Mae, is a very beautiful girl, has a sweetness on her face that creates a sense of serenity, I love …
The flowers, the figs … that tasty!, The landscapes and the garden itself make a set of benefits for this Sunday day.
Where was I the day that man came to the moon?
At that time I was single but was Antonio’s girlfriend. I lived in Ceuta (North Africa) with my parents because my father was a military man and he was stationed there. But I was in Madrid spending the holidays at my aunt and uncle’s house and being with Antonio during the summer. That day was memorable for humanity. Today we do not explain how with so few advances could make such a heroic feat. Three heroes that we will never forget: Amstrong, Aldrin, and Collins.

Abrazos, Pam

You are surrounded by beauty that I so appreciate your sharing. The moon landing was such a thrill and I watched with a group of friends in our apartment complex. We were young then.

Your garden is so beautiful. It is a gorgeous place for Ella Mae to enjoy. Has it been hot there? Your moon photo is also wonderful. I was in high school but since it was a a Saturday I was able to watch it on our little old black and white TV.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you so much Carol. I remember it well also. We did have a color TV, but everything looks black and white anyway! Have a wonderful week!

I was only 2, so I don’t remember that day, but how amazing to think that the very same moon in your photo is the one they walked on all those years ago AND the one our Lord created all those thousands of years ago. It reminds me of His faithfulness and steadfastness. He is ever the same and so worthy of our trust. I so enjoyed visiting with you today, sweet friend. Many blessings to you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Beautiful thoughts Cheryl. Blessings always my friend!

I remember where I was and who I was with 50 years ago for the moon landing. Very special. We listened to parts of the book, The Right Stuff yesterday.
Huntsville had a huge celebration projecting the landing on the side of a building downtown for a huge crowd along with other festivities.
This was another great Simple Sunday post. Love the moon shots.

Dear Pam,
Your yard and the views from early morning through moonrise are lovely!!! Yes, I remember my father gathering us around the television to watch the first lunar landing and Neil Armstrong stepping onto the moon’s surface. Watching his first steps on the moon never get old… 🙂
Thank you for sharing and your granddaughter is sweet. Pink is my favorite color, too. <3
