“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.””
John 13:34-35
When Katy gets some “lake time” we can always count on her capturing a beautiful sunrise (and sunsets too)!
Do you recall the incredible pic of the 3 white crosses standing in water after the flood earlier this year? Hard to imagine water covering this landscape but folks around Weiss Lake remember all too well!
The last of the water seems to be about to drip off his chin!
Our garden beautyberry is doing well and we have discovered several wild ones nearby. Anyone ever made jelly from these berries?
Hard to pass up a swallowtail!
It is impossible for us not to be charmed by Princess EM!
Be sure to join us tomorrow for Monday Morning Blooms. This is a little preview!
Shrimp tacos while “sitting by the dock of the bay”, sort of !
There is a lot of history to be discovered along the back roads!
Our Rudbeckia, sometimes called black-eyed-susan, has bloomed for many weeks but is showing signs of waning as we hit September!
The berries on privet will soon be a dark purple/blue color. We did not notice the visitor in this pic until we pulled it up for the blog!

Love the gorgeous sunset. Beautiful colors and reflection on the water. Such a lovely spot. I adore sunsets and sunrises. Katie is a great photographer.
EM just gets prettier and you capture her personality I think. I’ve not met her but your pictures are always so sweet.
I look forward to MM blooms. I spy dahlias!
Have a lovely Sunday.

Good morning, Pam. I am up looking out at the most beautiful ocean. It is a gorgeous day in St. Maarten, only marred by news of another shooting in our country, and Hurricane Dorian headed to the coast of the U.S. The beauty in your post takes my mind off of these for the moment. This post is simple in its beauty, which to me, is the best kind of beauty. EM is beautiful, as usual. I also went to your Decorating tab, and saw a photo of Chatham’s bedroom, which you decorated so many years ago. It is still beautiful to me, even after all of these years. And I reread the section on Butch’s accident, still heartbreaking and yet filled with God’s blessings, all in one. Have a wonderful day, my friend, and much love to you and all of the family.
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Glorious photos this morning, Pam. Oh, the sunrise and sunset, God does paint the sky beautifully for us to enjoy.
Precious Ella Mae grows more lovely with every photo. She looks all dressed up in the photo today, just so sweet.
Pam, I have your opening scripture in my kitchen, where I read it many times throughout the day. I so often think, “Why is it we can’t follow His words?”
I so thank you for this lovely post, and all you do to bring goodness and beauty to our world. Looking forward to Monday Blooms. Wishing you and your family a beautiful day. Many Blessings to all.

There is so much to adore in your Sunday posts and I was ready to adore them all till shrimp tacos knocked everything else out of my mind and that’s all I can think of now! Lovely as always — have a splendid Labor Day.

Oh beautiful sunset! How I love thee, let me count the ways! Ever since I moved to my condo with sunset views 365 days a year, for the rest of my life (💕💕💕) I have noticed that no sunsets are ever the same, like snowflakes. I believe it is God’s way of showing His creatorship, and infinite beauty!
Your granddaughter is growing, like those beautiful flowers in your garden! She is very pretty!
I have been busy with life, and have missed your encouraging words and pages!
Love you, my friend!

I love the beautyberry bush, It’s not very good eaten right off the bush but makes good jelly. Speaking of beauty, Miss Ella Mae is a beauty and she really knows how to pose. Thank you for your always appropriate Scripture verses for us. Have a blessed Sunday. Our daughter is with us today from Olympia Wa and we are on seventh heaven!

Lovely late summer photos. Princess EM is such a beauty, as are all the nature photos. I always look forward to seeing these each week, Pam & Buth. Happy September.

Love these pictures Pam. Your sweet EM is beautiful with her gorgeous eyes & smile. The sunset pic is wonderful. I’ve not heard of beauty berry but they are indeed pretty. Our flowers are beginning to wane as well probably in part because I’m tired of watering them! Lol Our new project is to soon plant sweet olive trees to hopefully form a barrier fence along with more azaleas. Would love privet hedge but I think the area is too shady but may give it a chance as it’s plentiful on the property. Wishing you and your family a Happy Labor Day! Clara ❤️

Thank you Clara. I am tired of watering also and ready for autumn. Happy Labor Day!

Princess EM seems attired and ready for Sunday worship…what a sweetheart. God pours out indescribable beauty upon us, as witnessed by Katy’s awesome photos. That final shot of great
serenity reminds us to join in prayer for those in the path of the latest storm and to hold up the
wounded and heartbroken in Texas. Oh lord, order our days in Your peace. Bless you Pam and
Butch for your Sabbath gift of beauty and wisdom to grateful hearts….

Thank you Mary, my heart is heavy for those in the path of Dorian and the tragedy in Texas.

Today Sunday begins with a beautiful image that Katy knows how to do very well and ends with another fantastic one: the beginning and the end of a bright day like Sundays.
It also illuminates our day the image of Ella Mae, who is a very beautiful girl and every day is more, it is not a compliment, it is a reality.
We always dedicate ourselves on the day of the Lord to the wonders that we have in this world and that many times we do not know how to appreciate, perhaps because they seem normal and we let them go without further ado. Perhaps it is that I am already many years old and when we are older we look more at the small / big things that God put us on earth.
Muy hermoso todo, un gran abrazo
Dolores

Dolores, gracias por sus dulces visitas. Siempre me haces el día cuando nos visitas. Ella Mae está creciendo demasiado rápido, pero disfruto mantenerla a ella y a Emma tres días a la semana. Bendiciendo a mi querido amigo! Enviando amor y abrazos.
