“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.””
Mark 12:30-31
Just before sunrise with some slightly cooler air and low humidity. A very nice morning to be out early!
The season’s last hay cutting…with Lookout Mountain as a back drop!
It’s pumpkin time… a little early to have them last through the fall season but we just had to have a few. We planted pumpkins this year in a remote spot away from the house and the vines became an instant hit with the local deer population. (At least we are blaming the deer)!
Another “lavender perfection” dahlia on the way!
This look gets her about anything she wants and we believe she has figured that out!
The apricot drift roses fade during the hot summer days but make a beautiful second showing as the days grow shorter!
Very little attention is needed since the drift roses drop their old blooms and never need dead heading!
We love the colors the sunshine ligustrum brings to the landscape this time of year!
The sun sets on summer. Another season passes quickly!

Dear friend, today I stopped on the road (I’m cooking) to see my mail. You just uploaded your Sunday post …
All!! I like … from the initial words of Mark: 13-31 to the last image.
So that the comment is not too long:
I highlight the dahlia that wants to get out of its cocoon … what a beauty!
Ella Mae’s serenity and beauty … I love it.
The margarita pizza … hummmmm …
The sunset. How beautiful is nature!
Your Sunday post is wonderful.

Dear Pam, glorious photos this morning. Love your pumpkins. It has been so hot I haven’t purchased any as of yet. I did bring myself to put a fall wreath on the front door. Your roses are so pretty and photos of your cotton fields always make me happy. Now to precious Ella Mae. She truly is a beautiful little girl – those eyes certainly make you melt. I know she and Emma are joys in your life.
Wishing you and your lovely family a beautiful day. Happy autumn to all.💛
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Sandra. We purchased a few pumpkins yesterday, the heat will get to them for certain. My granddaughters are special joys, and I am thankful that I get to spend time with them. Happy Sunday 🧡

A beautiful compilation of photos Pam. Love them all. Your dahlias are gorgeous. Ella Mae looks so cute & precious! Have you ever grown camellias? Would love your observations if you have as we’re going to try them when we can get the clay soil to loosen up! We’re still baking but the heat has now been turned down slightly. We still haven’t had a significant rain. If it rains when I’m home, I’m going to dance in it & start shoveling clay dirt! Lol Hope you have a relaxing day. Clara♥️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you so much Clara. I do have one camellia that rarely bloomed until a couple of years ago and it took off. I would like to plant another one, they are definitely one of our lovely Southern blooms. I hope you get to dance soon, and I might join you!

Your Sunday photos are always a beautiful gift Pam, and lift my spirits for the week! Ella Mae looks particularly grown up today…and the dahlias are so pretty…love the hay bales and cotton…It looks like we are in for one more week of 90 degree weather, ugh! I did buy pumpkins this weekend, they are already outside at the market and TJs so I figured why not enjoy them now! Have a lovely Sunday,
Jenna
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jenna. We went ahead and bought pumpkins and mums on Saturday. I was afraid they would all get gone, hopefully they can withstand the heat!
Cheryl Smith says
Aw, I don’t think anything should ever be denied her when she gives you that look! LOL! It is certainly hard to tell them no, isn’t it? I think they do figure it out early and use it to their advantage, too! Well, autumn is here, sweet friend! Happy Fall to you!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You are a sweetheart dear Cheryl! Happy Autumn my friend!

Happy Sunday, Pam and Butch! That particular verse from Mark always begins our Anglican Church service. It is astonishing to watch how Princess Ella Mae has grown this summer! Beautiful photos to wind up the summer. I know I’m getting older because it sure did fly by. We have been enjoying early morning temps in the 50s the last few days, but it is headed back up to the mid 90s again. I haven’t bought any pumpkins yet because this heat might make pumpkin pie!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Roxanne, we will probably be making pumpkin pie in the garden. What a beautiful verse to begin your service. Happy first week of Autumn!

Happy Fall friend. Your pumpkins are beautiful and we must have a few. Ella Mae is such a beauty. Yes, we grandparents have the privilege of providing these little things they like. Love the hay bales, cotton and dahlias. May we all be committed to love God and our neighbor in the way he commands.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Amen, and thank you sweet friend. Happy first week of autumn!

Miss Elle Mae looks like she is asking, just what is it that you don’t understand! She is so cute.
It was 42 when I got up this morning and I’m dreading Colorado’s cold weather. We had a very short Summer and have had the fireplace going several mornings. The last picture of the sunset on the water is lovely.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Wow, 42 is quite cool and how nice to have a warm fire. I always love your visits Alice! Happy first week of autumn!

Happy and blessed Autumn ~ That pre-sunrise photo of the garden exudes subtle beauty and
hues… come look at me…. or is that the Princess EM photo? She is so poised and feminine. I
can understand why you cannot resist giving in. My drift roses have remained apricot color and
I so enjoy them, thanks to your inspiration. The Scripture verses say it all… the golden path to
follow to find Divine assurance and fulfillment in life. Blessings to you and Butch, dear one.
