“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.””
Matthew 9:37-38
Happy Monday dear readers! It is the third Monday of the month which means it is Monday Morning Blooms with my sweet blogging friends! I would enjoy the pleasure of your company at my abundant harvest table!
“Reflect upon your present blessings – of which every man has many – not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.”
-Charles Dickens
Our common theme today is “harvest.” We all know the laws of the harvest; you must plant a seed in order to reap!
You will find the links for my talented friends at the bottom of this post. Be sure to take note of our fabulous Christmas giveaway. You will not want to miss our December 2nd Monday Morning Blooms for a chance to win a beautiful fresh centerpiece. We will also be most excited to welcome back Shirley!
We live in the country where farms surround us…we look forward each year to observing the results of the local farmers hard work and enjoy seeing the crops being harvested.
If you are a regular reader you know that our son owns his own digital media business. He captured this amazing photo of cotton harvest…
…and this one of soybean harvest. There are numerous fields of cotton, corn, and soybeans in our Appalachian Foothills!
My harvest table would be perfect for Thanksgiving with the table runner of natural elements. Anyone can make this by simply gathering autumn fruits, vegetables, and flowers. I used almost the entire length of the table for my harvest runner, but you could make it any length. First, I placed all the fruit and vegetables on the table. Next, I added the four floral arrangements in julep cups, and then filled with dried hydrangeas, ginkgo leaves, eucalyptus, and feathers.
Vintage Johnson Brothers “Harvest Time” was the perfect pattern choice for the table…I love its scalloped edging!
Wicker chargers add texture and stemware from Tuesday Morning (many years ago) blends with the the Harvest Time pattern!
“You reap what you sow: Life is like a boomerang. Our thoughts, deeds, and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy.”
-Grant M. Bright
Gala and Granny Smith apples, red pears and grapes, pomegranates, acorn and butternut squash, tiger striped pumpkins, antler sheds, seed pods, beautyberries…combine with elements foraged from my yard and garden to create the harvest table runner!
The tablecloth has a beautiful pattern of fruits piled high in an Italian urn on each corner and the center of the cloth.
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
-William Arthur Ward

Pam, Your table is truly an abundance and harvest of beauty! The flowers, fruit and foliage make a spectacular organic runner for your harvest table or Thanksgiving and I love the addition of the antlers and feathers for contrast and texture. You know I have a special place in my heart with Harvest Time by Johnson Brothers as it was my grandmother’s pattern. I only have a few pieces of hers as most were chipped or broken. Love seeing your son’s photos of the cotton field and soybean harvest! As always it’s treat to join you for some flower therapy on Mondays. ♥

So gorgeous Pam! I love the way you styled your runner, and that you were able to use so many things from your garden and yard, the dried hydrangeas, berries, flowers and leaves. The pomegrantes, red pears, grapes and pumpkins all happily mingle with eucalyptus, antlers and feathers. A table of bounty for sure! Will this be your table for your family Thanksgiving? The plates are perfect! The cotton harvest photo is incredible!! Love that!

Thank you Jenna. Yes, I will do a scaled down harvest runner much like this one. I don’t like an arrangement to interfere with conversation and this low profile runner is perfect and also easy. Since I do all the food, easy tablescape is a win!
Alice Genzlinger says
Your table reflects a generous harvest. Dr. Charles Stanley says it perfectly, “you reap what you sow, more than you sow, later than you sow”. Amen? The pictures taken by your son show the bounty God provides in a beautiful light.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Great quote from Dr. Stanley and very true. Thank you Alice!

Pam, I had forgotten it was time for MMB. What a nice surprise!
Your table is stunning! Your runner is so lush and beautiful! Gorgeous fall flowers and I loved the gingko leaves around the edges. Combing fruit, flowers, and vegetables with elements from your fall garden was perfect.
The quotes and scriptures were convicting and beautiful to ponder. You tell a delightful story with your pictures and seeing your dramatic tablecloth with fruit and flowers was the crowning touch.I almost forgot how lovely your dishes and glassware compliment your lovely centerpiece.

Golly, I think this melange and gorgeous table setting is my favorite for this year. I often raid the late flower beds(won’t this year, everything was buried in snow and ice and is ugly black and beaten down). Your table is simply divine. Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving!

Thank you for your gracious comments. Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my, Pam, this table is truly a gift with all the beauty and colors and textures. So simple that I feel anyone can do this at home, yet the most exceptional designer look. Who wouldn’t want to sit at your table and gather there to give thanks for all our blessings? Those colors are perfect. I love that you used the gingko leaves, our large gingko still has green leaves in California, but I love when the yellow ones come raining down in December. My little people call it gingko snow. : ) It is always a blessing to join you on our special Monday Morning Blooms days. xoxo Lidy

Thank you my sweet friend. I like “ginkgo snow!”

Exquisite !!! The gifts that God’s earth returns to us in time for Thanksgiving observance. Your
beautiful runner is a tribute to what has been sown…Seth has given us a rare glimpse of the privilege it is to view harvesting from the heavens. Thank you for the component list comprising
the runner…the produce departments and fading gardens will be “sold out” while we busily recreate this tour de force by Pam. Perfect! Your giftedness is such a blessing to us, dear one.
