Local stone seems to be used on a lot of structures in an area of north central Alabama not too far from us!
We are blessed to be able to step outside our door and be greeted by a bald eagle fly over. And it was Christmas!

Such lovely photos from your visits and your gardens. And Emma is loving your doll. How precious!
Aren’t lighthouses not only beautiful but fascinating as well. I just love them!
And those Bald Eagles… Wow!
Happy Sunday Pam!

Thank you Nancy. I thought the light houses were fitting for our gray winter days. Happy Sunday dear friend!

“Let prayer steer the new year”. If only we would start each day and year with prayer we wouldn’t be in the fix we are in today. Miss Ella Mae gets prettier every time you grace us with a photo of her. It’s going to be a sad day when she no longer spends part of the week with you and Butch. We will miss her too!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Alice. Yes, if only our nation would turn to God and repent. Alice, I so dread when Ella Mae starts kindergarten. Happy Sunday!
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Just beautiful, Pam. When I was a little girl, I dreamed of living in a light house. I thought it would be marvelous and I sure would have loved living in any which are in your photos. There is just something about them.
Ella Mae is certainly enjoying your doll, so sweet. And, your beautiful sky at the end is truly singing.
Pam, I do hope you were not in the path of any of the terrible storms. Wishing you and your family a beautiful and peaceful Sunday.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Sandra. With the gray days of winter, I thought the light houses were fitting. Thankfully, we had no damage even though there was damage in our county. I am saddened for the loss of lives in our state. Thank you for checking on us my friend.

Ohh I love the light houses, they always seem to tell a story! I am so grateful this morning that the storms yesterday moved through quickly but am praying for all those who had damage and injury, scary stuff…your photos and words are helping uplift my spirits this glorious Sunday. Have a great week Pam and Butch!

Oh you were at the Cape, Pam! Weve been here 5 years and I’m loving it … even in the gray solitude of winter.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Our weather has been gray, stormy, and dreary. I pulled the lighthouses from my travel photos because I thought they were quite fitting. Thank you Linda, cape living must be blissful!
Clara says
Pam, First of all so glad the bad weather didn’t affect you. Thought of you when Alabama was in the storm’s path. The warm weather is enjoyable but when it’s 70 you know storms are coming. We were awakened by tornado warnings Saturday morning but thankfully they diminished along their destructive path. We’re praying for those who have been affected. The lighthouses are beautiful and a wonderful Sunday treat! Being able to see eagles outside your door is quite a blessing. They are so majestic! EM is such a beautiful girl and the doll is so dressed up and cute. I think she made a great choice! After all it’s more fun to play with PJ’s toys! Love your turtle and the singing sky is spectacular. God is so good to us! We’re so blessed! Have a great day! Clara ❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Clara, I thought of you yesterday morning. I am so glad you were not impacted. I dug into my travel photos to pull out the light houses, 8 thought they were fitting for the gray and dreary days of winter. Yes, God is so good. Have a wonderful week.

I was thinking of you last night as I heard about storms and tornadoes going through Tennessee. I hope you, Butch and your property, as well as those you know and love, were all right. Quite the weather night. Lovely images as always!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jeanie for thinking of us. Living in the South, tornadoes are possible any time of the year. Everything is ok here at our house. Have a wonderful week, hope you feel better!

So grateful you came through the storms unscathed. Our situation similar to yours. Praises that it is now calm and life goes on even more aware of blessings. EM is so demure and I love her compliment that you both share the same taste in dolls. Something about lighthouses that tweaks the imagination…Once you set your foot on that Cape soil, you never forget the experience. Like your crawling garden buddy, it has taken me all of Fall and part of Winter to work through one side of anything to the other, but the decks are now cleared for the year to come. The singing skies and bald eagles are a Sabbath plus to the scriptures. Bless you and Butch for this weekly reminder of the wonder of it all. Shalom.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, so thankful we didn’t receive damage. Prayers for the families of those three people who died in the horrific tornadoes in Alabama.
Ella Mae plays very carefully with the doll, I told her the doll was old and her clothes were somewhat fragile. She listened and said, “PJ what is fragile?” Sweet times with my girls. I also love lighthouses and I thought they were fitting for our gray winter days. I just pulled them out of my travel archives.
Thank you for your faithful visits, Mary. Have a wonderful week!

“Let prayer steer the new year”….Amen to that. Pam, I have the same doll! Mine is a bride doll, but she has the same face and sits in my guest room. She is looking pretty good for 60+ years old. Glad you all are okay after the storms. We were under a very scary tornado warning last night. Go Tigers! (or Geaux Tigers, depending on which team you root for!).
Pam @ Everyday Living says
That is amazing about the dolls being the same. Mine is between 58-60 years old. Roxanne, I should cheer for LSU, since they are in the SEC. But I am pulling for the Clemson Tigers. Hope you all win!

Butch’s words…”it’s such a beautiful day I think I’ll go outside and just smile.” I know our great Creator wants us all to share such appreciation for His creation. Really love the lighthouses. They seem to have stories to tell. Ella Mae grows more beautiful with every passing day. She looks beautiful with the doll. Well, I have an idea when she goes to K. Just pick her up after school for a few hours in the afternoon on the days she was staying with you because this is going to be quite the change. My boy Davis began driving and is carrying himself to his rowing class just this year. Maddie is nine and I get her four afternoons this year. Thank goodness. It is extremely hard sometimes but boy is it worth it!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Dianne, thank you dear one. I didn’t know Davis was 16, they grow up way too soon. I know Maddie loves spending time with you. It is hard, but you are correct…it is worth it. Have a wonderful week!

I love the Bald Eagles! That is very special.
I also love the sunset and haven’t heard the expression singing sky before but I like it.
Ella Mae looks so sweet with Pam’s doll. I know it warms Pam’s heart that she likes it.
We are grateful the only damage we had from the bad weather yesterday is a lot of small limbs everywhere. The wind was fierce with hard rain and lots of thunder and lightning.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I am so glad you didn’t have any damage Bonnie. Yes, the wind was very fierce with lots of rain. Have a good week!
