“…aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”
2 Corinthians 13:11
Hello dear readers. Yesterday was a day full of blue skies with sunshine and our weatherman has forecast a few more delightful days. It is amazing how a little sunshine makes these days of social distancing easier. I decided on treating myself to a simple little pleasure yesterday…a table for one underneath the rose arbor. I saved you a virtual seat!
“Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy…
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I’d make a wish for sunshine all the while.”
-John Denver
A cup of Earl Grey tea and home-made lemon poppyseed muffins (one of my favorites) make for a perfect mid-day treat…
…with my current favorite flower book…
…underneath the Lady Banks rose arbor!
Two years ago the Lady Banks roses were stunning, I pulled up a photo on my iPhone so you could see!
“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
-C.S. Lewis
Over the past few months of busyness, I have missed having the time to read some of my favorite magazines…a simple pleasure.
The sweet butterfly teapot was ordered a couple of years ago from Pier 1. Johnson Brothers “willow” has been gracing our tables for more than forty years. A small vase of snowball viburnum in different stages of bloom and a moss bunny…
…combine with a pretty floral April Cornell tablecloth (several years old) to complete my little table!
“Blossom by blossom the spring begins.”
-Algernon C. Swinburne
“Spring makes its own statement, so loud and clear that the gardener seems to be only one of the instruments, not the composer.”
-Geoffrey B. Charlesworth
I hope that your visit underneath the rose arbor offered a respite from all that troubles your heart. God loves you my friends!

dear Pam, what a beauty everything … EVERYTHING. the garden is already very beautiful and that little table of tea that you have prepared is simply beautiful … I love the butterfly teapot, I love the tablecloth, I love the photos …
Thank you because you have lifted my spirits. I am a little in poor shape, my spirit begins to feel this from having to be locked up in my house and every day it becomes more strict to be able to go out because there is surveillance so that people do not walk without reason. The issue of coronavirus is very very serious, there are hundreds of people who die every day …
You are an air of health and beauty, which I really appreciate.
With love

Amor y abrazos, Pam

What a wonderful respite and a delightful moment we had! I enjoyed your muffins… what a treat! And I have not stopped swooning over that tea pot!
Our neighbor behind us has yellow Lady Banks that climb up over the wall and bloom on our side of the wall as well! Every time they bloom I think of you and your Lady Banks!
I need to get a picture of them. But the lighting is not the greatest in that area as we have a large shade tree in that area. Happy Thursday! And enjoy the sunshine!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good evening my friend. Sorry I am late in replying, but I have been weeding the garden all day. The hubby might have to help me out of bed in the morning 😉 I am glad you enjoyed the muffin. How nice that you get to enjoy your neighbor’s Lady Banks.
I hope you are doing well and staying safe!

Wow, Pam, those photos could just as easily be the ones in that Victoria magazine you had opened there. I really like the one with the garden statue’s profile silhouette on the right, table on the left! The teapot is so pretty.

Thank you Rita. I hope you and hubby are staying safe and well.

Your tea time respite is the ideal way to let the stress wash away. I love the tea pot and it goes so well with the blue willow. I had to stop buying tea pots. They were overtaking the house so I gave away all that were made in China and kept all those I thought were safe to serve tea. Some were gifts and that made me sad but didn’t fill right serving others or myself from them. Today is cold and rainy so I’ll keep your post so I can see the beautiful sun and garden. Stay vigilant .

It’s turning out to be such a lovely spring, and yet so many ugly things are gong on in the world. Thanks for turning the focus back to God’s beauty and natural gifts.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Leslie Anne. Spring continues even when the world is unsettled. God never changes and that is a truth we can hold and not be fearful!

Like everyone else, I am swooning over your teapot and your Lady Banks rose! Just looking at the cover of A Year in Flowers makes me happy! 💕. Yesterday I mowed grass for 3 hours; it felt so good to be out in the sunshine and fresh air. It seems like my snowball viburnum and the weeds exploded over night! Mostly I feel content being home and not anxious, but I do have moments when it just seems surreal like a very bad dream.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Roxanne. I am content at home, enjoying the beautiful spring has been amazing!
