“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19
A slightly different approach to our simple southern Sunday since we are staying mostly close to home these days. We usually feature things from the area or somewhere in the south, as well as right around our place, but today it’s all about taking a little walk!
Wild azaleas are found along the ridge near the river.
Some of the azaleas are a deeper pink than these but they haven’t completely bloomed out yet. Maybe next week! We shall see.
The creek is finally settling down to a more normal flow after a few days free of heavy rainfall. A lot of Oak Leaf Hydrangeas grow along this part of the creek and their leaves are coming on quickly now.
Our azalea at the east end of the house, is a Pride of Mobile about 20 years old and is probably 10 feet tall. It blooms later than other azaleas in the area. This bloom is on a special plant because it is one of Pam’s Mother’s and brings sweet memories when it flowers each year by her dads front porch.
Emma Kennedy turned one last Thursday and she is making sure everyone knows her age!
Big sister is apparently preparing for an evening out?
The redbuds are peaking and the bees are loving it!
We had a closeup of a bee (we thought) and he or she did not want to pose and left quickly. The flower was still quite pretty so the bee lost a chance to be featured!
We thought this “might” be a blackish purple Russula, and if so, it would be an edible mushroom. However, that particular member of the genus usually doesn’t show up until late summer. Maybe a different Russula? As you might guess, we are not mushroom experts and these were left in the woods!
We called this dogwood delight. There is something about the angle of early morning or late evening light that takes beauty to another level!
The Mayapple contains a toxin that is poisonous to us, but we discovered the toxic chemical is used in several prescription medications that are beneficial to us. Native Americans recognized the medicinal value as well. The plant will usually appear in colonies. It will flower soon and then bear a small apple-like fruit. We understand that the fruit is the only part of the plant that is not toxic.
The new leaves on this Japanese Maple have an autumn look but it is only March!
”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”.

Good morning Pam and Butch! What a delightful walk around your place!! It is reassuring to me that Spring is continuing right on schedule even though our world has turned upside down. Love the pictures of the girls! I have a framed photo sitting on my dressing table of my sister and me in curlers that I treasure…she was 2 and I was 18. Precious memories. Stay safe and be well.

Roxanne, spring goes on irregardless of our circumstances…a beautiful sign that God never changes! Stay well my friend ♥️

It was enjoyable to take a walk with you close to home. Your photos are lovely.I love the picture of the sky with the clouds.
The dogwoods have been so pretty this year. We have lost so many to anthracnose and they have not been healthy in recent years but this year they are looking good.
You had an exciting week with Emma turning one! Sweet days!
Praying for health and safety and healing in America.

What a lovely Spring stroll around your home. It was so enjoyable! The dogwood tree is so pretty as are the azaleas. Sweet Emma Kennedy is one already? Happy birthday precious girl! Ella Mae in her curlers is adorable! I transplanted some of my Mom’s bulbs last fall and yesterday I discovered a beautiful butter yellow iris blooming. It made me smile as it reminded me of my Mom. The other bulbs are up but not yet blooming but I hope they do soon. Discovering the various varieties and colors will be interesting. Stay safe Pam and Butch! Blessings to all! Clara ♥️

Thanks so much Clara. I know transplanting your mom’s bulbs and discovering an iris blooming was a tender moment. Stay healthy♥️

Beautiful photos this morning. I always so enjoy the girls, they are way beyond adorable. So enjoyed seeing the wild azaleas, we have them in our mountains. And they are so pretty. It is amazing how far ahead your spring is over ours. Our daffodils are just in bloom. Have a lovely day and be well.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Sandra. So far, the spring has been beautiful, probably from all the rain. I know you will see it all soon♥️

Dear friends, spring is among us. Today was a beautiful day and the geraniums on my windows are showing their beautiful colors. The apple tree that I have near my window greets me with its little buds. Today is a beautiful day and that makes me very happy …
And here we are still locked in our houses … Patience …
I love to see everything you show in your garden, nature is so beautiful …
Happy Birthday to Emma K., I’m surprised that a year has passed! is incredible.
Emma and Ella Mae are very beautiful girls, they are beautiful. They are the best flowers in your garden without a doubt!
Half the world is in mourning, but let us trust God and pray that this madness will soon pass and the weeping of the whole world will end.
With love

With this bright sunny day, it would seem the Lord is pouring down reassurance upon us that
to everything there is a season and the beauty of this one is the light that mantles the concerns
we share. Happy Birthday, precious Em….so glad you chose the right finger. Our Ella would
put a Chanel accessory showing to shame…coordinated, creative and with the perfect model.
Let us hold on to Proverbs 3:5-6 and accept that this, too, shall pass and lead us to greater understanding and wisdom. Be vigilant and hold our beloved Nation and the world up in prayer.
Peaceful Sabbath to all. Bless you Pam and Butch for the stroll through Springtime at Home.

Mary, your beautiful writings are always so inspiring. Thank you my friend, God is in control and with that truth we have hope ♥️

Spring will surely come to Colorado but in the meantime I’m enjoying seeing Spring from your camera. And thanks for our Sunday dose of the two princesses that are growing like weeds. Is the picture of the Mayapple plant what I used to call Maypops? I never knew they were toxic and we played with them all the time
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, I know spring will come to Colorado. Butch is in the lower forty working this afternoon. I googled if mayapple and maypop were the same, and it said they were. Have a blessed week Alice♥️

I must confess. Again, my favorite photos are the ones of Emma and Ella Mae. As much as I love flowers and flowering trees, they do not compare to the photos of those precious girls! I am sure that you are amazed at how fast they are growing. My friend, the time only goes faster as the years continue to pass. I can’t fathom that our oldest, Mary Grace, is now 15! And our Elsie is 13, Virginia 7, and Drew 2. I suppose that means that I am old! But I did also, of course, enjoy the other photos in this post. Praying that all there stay safe, and that we return to normal soon, although it will be a new normal.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear friend. Time doesn’t stop for anyone, and it seems it is now flying. I love seeing all the photos of your girls. They all look so much like Tara. Take care and sending my love!

Thank you Jeanie. We are staying put right here at home!
