My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

The peony is the favorite flower of many and this one makes a strong case for their being at the top of the list!
What is probably a carpenter bee (our bee experts can correct us if this is a bumble bee) at work on the gold mound spirea. These pollinators are very important to have around but can be very destructive too. Makes for a dilemma!
Little Miss blue eyes in her mermaid swim suit. She is ready for the beach!
Miss brown eyes appears to be modeling in the rose garden but she isn’t the least bit aware!
We’ve never taken note of a particular bloom to see how long it takes to go from this stage to becoming fully open. With temps hitting the mid and upper 80’s this weekend, we think it will burst forth in a day!
And the fragrance of this blossom in the cool of morning just after sunrise yesterday did not disappoint!
The chive bloom is so intricate and loaded with detail but can be easily overlooked. It takes a close-up study to really appreciate!
We would love to think that deer and rabbits are fearful of large turtles and will stay clear but there is no evidence to support this idea. Oh well, he is cute and Ella Mae likes to sit on him.
A little sneak preview of Monday Morning Blooms! We wish you could smell this arrangement. So sweet. Please come back tomorrow for more. We are sorry we haven’t figured out a way to include the smell but maybe one day technology will get us there. Actually that’s a scary thought!

Good morning Pam and Butch! Spring has really burst forth in your yard! Miss EK and Miss EM are the prettiest blossoms!! Yes, somebody please identify those bees since we have them too. We had an attack of carpenter ants that completely destroyed the frame and ledger board to a door, so I don’t want a bee attack too. We actually had several honeybee hives until John developed a severe sting reaction. A kind neighbor moved our hives over to his house and now brings us jars of honey. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! 😊. Have a wonderful week, dear friends!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good morning Roxanne. Local honey is the best, supposed to be good for allergies. Have a joy-filled day my friend ♥️

What a beautiful way to start this Sunday morning. The peony, the magnolia, and the other blooms fill our senses. I can imagine the delightful smell of the magnolia. Love the sweet expressions of Miss Blue eyes and Miss Brown eyes. I spent most of my day in my garden either working or photographing. My blooms are bursting forth. A bear got into our feeders the night before and did some damage but Bob was able to repair. The beauty of the season is before us. Have a blessed Sabbath.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good morning Dianne and thank you. Oh no, yikes a bear! They have been spotted in our area, but so far we haven’t seen one. Have a joy-filled Sunday ♥️
Carole @ From My Carolina Home says
Wow, what gorgeous flowers! You are so right about appreciating the detail in the chive blossom. Love that magnolia, I wish I had one of those, but our altitude isn’t conducive to them. Late frosts have turned all the azalea flowers brown, so now I wait for the next round of beauty to come in the other bulbs and rhododendrons.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Carole. There is a little lull in my garden, but the apricot drift roses have been showing out.
the Painted Apron says
Visiting you Pam is like going to the botanical gardens! So many beautiful blooms!! I would love to have peonies at my fingertips, and your granddaughters put the flowers to shame, they are so precious! I love magnolias, they are so beautiful! Thank you for all the gorgeous photographs!

Your granddaughters are just beautiful! It’s a joy to see them growing up. My son and daughter-in-law are expecting a daughter in Oct. It’s been 12 years since our grandson was born, so we are over the moon with excitement! We are blessed.

Thank you Bonnie. I wish I could claim the peony, it was at my friend’s house. I have four peonies, three were planted last year and one this year. The plants are beautiful, but no blooms this year, hopefully next spring. Wishing you and Mike a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning, Pam. What glorious photos you have shared this morning. I so miss the magnolias and they were my mom”s favorite. Their fragrance is enchanting, but as much as I love them it is too cold for them in WV.
What a delight to see your peony, you know I love her. The blooms are all so pretty. But, I must say they do not compare to those beautiful girls. I know you thoroughly enjoy every moment with them and how wonderful for them. I believe children really miss something of greatness when they don’t know their grandparents.
Wishing you and your beautiful family a beautiful day and week ahead. Stay well, dear friend.❤
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I wish I could claim the peony. I have three that were planted last year and one this year, no blooms. Hopefully next year they will bloom. The plants are very healthy, however! Happy Sunday to you and Michael ♥️
Nancy says
Oh Good Morning Sweet Pam and Butch. Our visit to your garden was extraordinary because the peonies and magnolias are in bloom! And the princesses are loving the fragrances of both!
I can now start my day with happiness and content! Thank you!
Happy Sunday to you both!

Thank you sweet Nancy. Wishing you a lovely Arizona Day ♥️

This morning my heart feels cheated because we don’t have magnolia here. But Miss blue eyes and Miss brown eyes takes some of the sting away. You can take the girl out of the South but you can’t take the South of of the girl. I long for the South and when God lifts this pandemic off us I will ask Him to let me travel HOME.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Alice. I so hope you can travel home soon. Yes, the South is a very special place♥️

Good morning,Pam! Those sweet girls are absolutely precious. I know they bring you so much joy and happiness! As always your photographs are beautiful. We are battling carpenter bees this season. They are busy trying to destroy our deck. I can’t wait for Monday Morning Blooms. I always look forward to your stunning creations. Happy Sunday, sweet friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Shannon. Butch has a pole barn, and the carpenter bees have made holes all in it. Happy Sunday my friend!

I most often read my blogger mail as I am having breakfast and drinking coffee, around 6:30 am, and then sometimes don’t get back to comment. I am loving the garden observations, esp the magnolia, which prompted me to look at the ones along our walk path this morning (some buds developing, no blooms yet). I love seeing the girls – Emma’s eyes are SO blue, I bet being out in the sun id hard on her little eyes. Have a wonderful Sunday and start to the week. Tomorrow’s blooms look full of color!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Rita. Emma looks like her daddy and Ella Mae like her mommy. Only difference is Seth was a blonde. Have a great week my friend!

Hello Pam
This is my first time commenting. However I have followed you for years.
I think you have the most beautiful garden and inspiration I seen on a blog
Thank you for sharing with us. I love seeing your granddaughters they are beautiful young ladies
I have 5 granddaughters 2 grandsons what a blessing from God. I know why they are called “grand” they are the grand of our lives.
I also live close in the area you live in Alabama. I am living in Pell City. I have never had flowers throughout my yard but you encourage me to try.
Continue with your beautiful blog you and Butch and the things you doing are touching and inspiring to many.
Thank you
Stay Safe

April, thanks so much for following and I am so glad you commented. My daddy was born and raised in Pell City. His sister has lived there all her life, she is now in the nursing home. My first cousin still lives there, Kenny Owen, you may know him.
What blessings to have seven grandchildren and aren’t they grand?!! They are blessings from God and bring so much joy to grandparents.
Thank you for your encouraging comments and blessings to you and your family!

The South – the land of the gentle folk… I wept when I had to leave, but we got back as soon as we Easterners could, come retirement. In working the garden, our Iris are leaving, but I found two or three stalwart exquisite examples standing tall and
was reminded of the strong souls during this pandemic urging us despite what we see, to remain gallant and to continue to
bloom uplifted. Our Lord ever holds us up during challenges and restores us in time. Em and Ella are reminders of the
promise that life always offers; so beautiful.

Thank you my friend. Our Lord does hold us up with His everlasting arms. God’s promises are true. Have a joy-filled Sunday afternoon!

Hello Pam, a delight to see your post full of beautiful flowers so varied, I love them … Spring is now in all its splendor just like your granddaughters, they are beautiful and very old.
It rains around here, which is what it usually does in the month of May but it is not cold and it alternates in good weather.
A hug
