“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22
Hello sweet friends. I love the above scripture…a joyful or cheerful heart is like a good medicine. A cheerful or joyful heart doesn’t mean that everything is perfect in our lives. In fact, we can often find ourselves in very difficult circumstances. Like medication is helpful for the body when we are sick, a grateful heart filled with the spirit is medicine for the soul.
It is the third Monday of the month which means Lidy, Mary, Shirley, and I are bringing you floral inspiration and Monday Morning Blooms! Our theme of late and today is “anything goes” since flowers can be hard to find during our current situation.
A small tea table was set in the garden…
…but it is really about these gorgeous blooms!
You will find the links for my flower loving friends at the bottom of this post.
The beautiful and romantic “artist garden tablecloth” by April Cornell is the perfect foundation for an informal tea for me, myself, and I.
One of my very best friends gifted me this beautiful “Berkeley” tea set by Royal Albert. It includes what you see and a sugar, creamer, a second dessert plate and cup/saucer. It is certainly a gift that I treasure and hold dear.
I am a fan of macarons…
…and Earl Grey tea! Don’t you just love the sweet floral design on the tea set? My friend was displaying the set on a table in her living room and she saw that I was admiring it. A few days later, she called and said she wanted to drop by to bring a little something to me. Her words were, “Since you love it, I want you to have it.” She is a forever friend, and those are hard to find.
My Renaissance Man and I traveled the 25 miles to the flower farms last week… always a nice drive with my honey. I definitely hit the jackpot! I am so thankful to have these farms close enough that I can get my hands on blooms that would be impossible to find at a local grocery store.
Endless hydrangeas, burgundy and white snapdragons, and buplureum came from Deep Roots Flower Farm. The gorgeous peony, Nikko blue hydrangeas, winter honeysuckle, and Scotch broom were living at the Hydrangea Farm.
As I was moving about the garden, the sweet fragrance wafting in the breeze from the peony and apricot drift roses was heavenly!
Since “anything goes” the floral arrangement moved around and the table setting changed for different looks.
“Flowers are the music of the ground. From earth’s lips spoken without sound.
-Edwin Curran
It appears that the apricot roses are a part of the floral arrangement!
My lovely blogging friend Sandra from Maison de Jardin used this quote and I want to share it with you.
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for
when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
You will not want to miss the beautiful floral inspiration from my creative friends.

Pam, What gorgeous flowers, set off perfectly by your AC artist garden tablecloth! A trip to the flower farm would be heavenly and you picked some beauties. What a sweet friend to gift you her tea set. Tea in the garden for me, myself, and I with macarons would be a treat. 🙂 I’m all aflutter over your butterfly chair that your arrangement is sitting so pretty in too! Thank you for the beauty and flower therapy this morning. Happy Monday🌸🦋💐🫖💕

Pam, a joyful heart is good medicine. Thank you for the scripture and for sharing how it is good for the soul. In times like these we need to cling to these truths. Your beautiful post displays your heart and love for pretty color and freshness from God’s flowers.
I love the AC tablecloth so fresh with lovely flowers. Your tea set is gorgeous as is your arrangement. What a sweet friend. I love the setting also showing your lovely roses.
I agree with Mary about your lovely butterfly chair. Tea in your garden would be a treat.
I am wishing there was a flower farm nearby for us. I would be a faithful customer.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you my friend. Bonnie, these two farms are so great to visit and I would not have been able to get flowers anywhere else. Wishing you a lovely week!

Oh Pam, life is so wonderful when you have friends who truly care about you and want to “make your heart happy”… I see how special that tea set is to you and how very special it does look in your garden “tea for me” setting. How great that you and your “RM” were able to travel to the flower farms and purchase those fabulous flowers…I so miss my flowers from the previous house. I am in love with your chair! I gasped when I saw the image of it with the flowers. Truly extraordinary and enchanting! I so enjoyed the quote from Emerson. My son is such a fan of Emerson and if they were having a “boy” they were going to name him Emerson…however, I am so happy they were blessed with our Sweetie! Have a beautiful day Pam. Continue to enjoy your garden this week and we thank you for sharing it with us…and I am grateful to be sharing MMB with you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Shirley. Being able to garden and just be outdoors truly refreshes me. Emerson is a great name for a boy, but I am so glad you were were blessed with your Sweetie!

What a beautiful way to start a Monday! And you are so right… a joyful heart is what keeps us going! I have nothing but gratitude even during these strange times. God’s truth keeps our blessings flowing!
I enjoyed your tea table set out in your garden! And what a lovely friend to have given you that tea set. It is stunning… and now you think of her each time you use it!
Your flowers from the flower farm are spectacular… how fun that you can go there and choose such beauty! And your arrangement is just that… spectacular! I thought of you as we drove by the Rose Fields here in Arizona. They were wonderful to see!
I can’t leave without saying something about that lovely butterfly chair! Oh! My! Goodness! How lovely it is!
Happy Monday dear friend! Enjoy your week!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Nancy, you are such a sweetheart. The flower farms are a treat during these times, just to get out and go for a drive refreshes me. I hope you get to PA to enjoy your beautiful garden!
Nancy says
I hope so too. 🙏
Alice Genzlinger says
Pam you are so blessed to have the flower farm so close. Choosing might be a problem for me. Today your tea table makes me long to sit there with you and enjoy all the beauty around and the macarons and Earl Grey tea. Lidy sent a package of Cherries Jubilee tea with a gift I ordered and it is now my favorite and having it served out of the tea pot your friend gave you would make it even more special. You might need to keep and eye though on the April Cornell tablecloth as I love that too. Have a blessed day.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Alice. I wish I could gather all of my friends that I have made through blogging and have a tea party in the garden! Have a wonderful week!

Sometimes I open your post and all I can say is WOW! Pam has done it again…a magazine will find its way to you for this one…probably Victoria. What an awesome arrangement and the lone pink peony is the crowning touch. The AC cloth is the perfect foundation and yes the background of roses is perfect. What a special friend to gift you this beautiful tea set. I have a friend like that. They are pure gold. Your words of JOY in all circumstances is a message for all times…hence the name for my blog. The JOY of the Lord should dwell deep in our hearts so we can face such a time as this. You are a beloved friend though we have never met. Thank you for a most beautiful Monday morning of blooms.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Dianne, thank you for your sweet and encouraging words. They do mean so much to me. We choose joy and it does not depend on our circumstances, it comes from a relationship with our Lord. You are an inspiration and a blessing dear one!

Pam, this does my very soul good. To see your lovely flowers, so lovingly arranged by you on your tea table for one. Oh! How I wish to join you there to use that second cup. Not just for the sweetness of our conversation, but also because Earl Grey tea and macarons are my very very favorites! You are so blessed with the flower farm, I haven’t “seen” any flowers for two months. Hoping to remedy that next time. Love to you, dear friend.

Pam, your post just made my day. I have been unable to do much of anything in my own garden, I need knee replacement surgery. My own garden is not been tended to much and is looking rather bad but I am so inspired by this post. Your tea table is stunning and I so enjoyed your beautiful pics. Hope you are doing well.

Carolyn, it is so good to hear from you. I have missed you on Instagram. I am so sorry about your knee, will you be having it replaced. Thank you for your sweet visit. Take care of yourself.
asouthernersnotebook says
Thank you Pam, yes I need knee replacement surgery but it is not considered essential during this time of quarantine. The Dr’s. offices in FL are just beginning to reopen and they have a back log of patients. I’m not wanting to speed it along especially since I am very high risk for covid. Frankly I think here in FL everything is opening too qucikly. About the Instagram, I had to get a new phone and lost my IG account, had to open a new one under carolynghaley. I have tried to put your IG back on my new phone but can’t seem to do it. Technology????
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog.
