“And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
James 3:18
The first mowing of Spring always yields the most hay. Drier weather usually takes its toll on the later cuts. We love seeing the bales in the field although they don’t remain there very long!
The ditch lilies welcome June every year. And a rain shower only adds to their beauty!
This gate at Gibbs Gardens got our attention…such intricate detail and craftsmanship!
We recently attempted to give the clematis a new structure to climb on and maybe it is finally making the discovery!
Emma has spent too much time observing our local rabbits!
Possibly a future farm girl?
Future bloom of an Invincibelle Spirit Hydrangea!
We may be approaching those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer!
We stand amazed when considering the different ways birch bark has been used throughout centuries. The creativity and skill that it must take to use these thin, delicate looking sheets!
A heavy rain caught some of the first hay cutting still lying in the field. This is an attempt to salvage the remainder after a good dry out…
…and it appears to be successful!
Creation constantly reveals our Creator and reminds us of who we are and who He is!

Love seeing the girls as they grow from week to week. The environment in which they’re being nurtured is the best!

Rita, both girls love the outdoors!

Good morning! Your opening scripture is especially powerful with the sad events of this past week. I always love seeing the hay bales in the fields. They remind me of Monet’s paintings of haystacks. Our area broke the 1910 rainfall record for May of over 12”! The ground is too wet for me to mow our really high grass. EM and EK are just sprouting this Spring too! I thought about you yesterday while I was driving John’s truck because he keeps it tuned to the Highlands radio station. It was 91 here and in the 60s up on the mountain! Have a wonderful week, Pam and Butch.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Roxanne. Yesterday was hot here, but by late afternoon the air became dryer and the wind kicked up for a pleasant late afternoon and evening! Have a great week!

What beauty your post reveals, God in all His glory is evident in each picture. The sweet sweet princesses, the change of seasons, the hay baled for food, each and every bloom for the bees, the bark on the trees that science uses to create medicines to heal us, the pictures God paints in the skies for us to recognize His works from Heaven. And more. May God in all His Glory be praised so that He can Heal our land.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Amen and Amen, Alice. Thank you for your beautiful thoughts.

Your last photo and commentary is so true!
I enjoyed your post with the iconic hay bales, stunning day lily, and your two pretty growing girls. I love your new tuteur and the color of your clematis. Lovely and pertinent scriptures as always to guide us.
Looking forward to MMB tomorrow. We are leaving today for St. George Island to be with our daughter’s family this week.
Have a lovely Sunday.

Dear Pam, what a lovely post. Of course those sweet girls are my favorites. However, I always enjoy seeing fresh cut hay and love the smell. I can remember my dad always trying to stay ahead of the rain to get the hay in. It is beautiful in the fields.
Your clematis is beautiful and looks so healthy. They can often be a little fussy. Wishing you a wonderful day and week ahead, dear friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Sandra. There is just something about fresh cut hay, reminds me of how much I love country life. Happy Sunday my friend ♥️

Why do I love birches like this with their skin off? I imagine they are giants who need a good suit to wear on Sunday … hahahaha
Well, today I really love everything! Yes, everything … Let’s go in order: the girls are very beautiful, the little one seems more like a little bee that is resting. The oldest is a very beautiful woman.
How beautiful everything you show, without forgetting that wrought iron door that is something spectacular!
Have a good Sunday, dear friend.

Querida Dolores, siempre espero tus dulces visitas. Las chicas están creciendo demasiado rápido. ¿Has podido salir de tu casa o ver a tu familia? ¡Dios te bendiga mi amigo!

Pam, The picture of EM is frame worthy. She’s a little doll! EK appears to be enjoying the clover and is such a cutie pie! Love the hay, lilies, and clematis pics. My Mom always had such great luck with clematis but me not at all! I do love them though. The birch tree has always fascinated me and I think they’re so pretty. I enjoyed the summer compilation this week. It feels so nice and normal during this challenging time. Enjoy your day! Clara ♥️

Thank you dear Clara. Wishing you a lovely week ♥️

Just love that little bunny in the clovered field and Miss Cherry Delight grows lovelier each day. Thank you and Butch for
the needed verse and the peace and beauty of scene to restore our sense of equilibrium. May we all be peacemakers.
That gate is outstanding …must have been golden hands and a golden heart that created it… Are we not fortunate to be able to recognize and appreciate the beauty around us? Such vision is a gift. A placid and restful Sabbath to all.

One of my favorite smells is freshly mown hay! It always reminds me of my grandfather. Even though they lived in a suburban neighborhood with an apartment complex in the field across from their backyard, when that field got cut, the smell of freshly cut grass apparently stuck with me, deep in my memory and now it always brings back wonderful memories of my childhood at my grandparents house.
Thanks so much for sharing a glimpse into your life with these happy, summery pictures.
