“The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”
Psalm 145:17-18
Hello sweet friends! I am popping in for a short blog post so I can share a little secret that I have been keeping. Are you ready?
Let’s begin with a garden photo…lavender that is not only pretty but fragrant. But, this has nothing to do with my little secret.
This is finally happening! For longtime readers and new ones, I posted a blog in May of 2016 when my Renaissance Man announced that he was going to build a garden shed. I collected pins from Pinterest for inspiration and shared them with you all. That idea rocked on for a while, and then it was placed on the back burner (life was very busy), and I was perfectly ok with that.
Fast forward to early May when a photo and a hint were given in This & That No. 10!
As you can see, the garden shed is well on its way. The contractor began on Monday. How did this idea all of a sudden start happening? In late April, I mentioned to RM that a garden shed would be a perfect playhouse for the girls and me!
That was all it took to get the ball rolling! Lights came on…bells started ringing! EM and EK have Da wrapped around their little fingers!!!
The overall size of the garden shed/playhouse is 12’ x 22’ which includes a 6’ x 12’ porch. More than forty years ago I bought antique French doors that have sat in Butch’s workshop waiting to be used. Finally, they will have a home on the front of the shed.
This photo was taken yesterday afternoon as the contractor finished the day. I know things will slow down a bit as we wait for an electrician, painter, etc. I can be patient since I have only been waiting four years.
The shed will likely not be a space for potting plants, but more or less a place for playing with dishes, flowers, and of course making memories with my girls. I have been brainstorming to come up with a perfect name for the shed. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them.
I plan on keeping you updated as things progress. Thank you for your sweet visits and gracious comments. Wishing you all a joy-filled day!

Oh Pam, I feel your excitement! I guessed early on you and Butch were working on a garden shed and what a nice generous size too!! What a perfect project during these uncertain times to have plan a place for you and the girls to play and retreat to. I don’t have electricity to mine, what a wonderful bonus. Looking forward to more updates ♥
Thank you Mary, yes you did guess correctly!
How sweet it is! If I think of any names, I’ll be sure to pass them on. I’ll be living vicariously in your potting shed dream!
Thank you Rita!
Oh Pam I am squealing with delight! You will love it! It’s going to be fun, fun, fun! Oh how special this will be with the littles! 🥰
Now I’ll be brainstorming all day thinking of a name.
Congratulations to all!
Thank you for letting us know! 🥰
Happy Day to you dear Pam!
Thank you Nancy. Happy Sunday my friend!
Pam we’re so excited for you. What wonderful news and memories you’ll make. Can’t wait to see the progress on Da’s Girls She Shed. Enjoy your day! Clara ♥️
Thank you Clara ♥️
Never stop dreaming is my way of waiting for things to happen. Can’t wait to see those forty year’s worth of French door dreams go up in the garden for the Princess’, that’s Pam, EM and EK. Oh Butch, if this virus gave you time to build the playhouse, then something good came out of it. I can’t wait to play with you Pam.
Thank you Alice. I am excited!
Very exciting! Nice, they had good weather to get things going. Sounds so nice. Look forward to each stage of development.
Very nice to receive some good news today.
Thank you Bonnie. It is really difficult to get materials.

Thanks so much Cindy!
How exciting! I’m sure the girls will love it.
Thank you Della!
I feel your excitement running over and so is mine. Of all people you can make such beautiful use of this shed. I can envision a child’s table included in the decor. Are you going to have a chandelier? I have no idea for the name. It seems that Everyday Living with Ella and Emma might be one thought. I have no idea. I am just so so excited for you. I too will live vicariously through you. I have always wanted one but my neighborhood will not allow them. Oh, the French doors!
Thank you Dianne, I am over the moon excited to have this little shed to play and make memories!
How exciting! I can’t wait to see it all finished!
Thank you Penny!
I am so excited for you (and me too since I will surely glean years of inspiration from your beautiful shed!) Congratulations!
Thanks so much Amber!
Pam, how exciting. You and the girls and Butch will enjoy this so much. You know I love to have homes and buildings given a name, it adds such personality to them. I love Rita’s first remark ~ “How sweet it is.”
Enjoy the day, dear friend.❤
Thank you Sandra. I definitely want a name for this little place that memories will be made!

Jenna
Thanks so much Jenna. I am beyond excited to enjoy this little place with my girls! Happy Sunday!
Hi Pam, what a beautiful news !! I love the idea of having that “little house” to undoubtedly enjoy you and the girls and, of course, the smile of Butch, that “multitasking” husband who is a charming person and very skillful for everything that occurs to her. do.
How cute … A big hug and congratulations to Butch
Querida Dolores, muchas gracias! Estoy muy emocionado y sé que se harán muchos recuerdos en mi pequeña cabaña. ¡Te mando abrazos, amigo!
This is so sweet, what a blessing to get to share with you all. A name that came to mind was Da Doll House, as you and the girls are so beautiful, and the love between Da and his girls is so special. I am sure you will have beautiful memories and fun times…will you have tea parties, and is this where the girls will learn to perhaps embroider, and will they paint flowers from your garden? Can’t wait for your stories…
Sue, your name is so cute. Yes, I hope we paint, color, read, have tea parties, craft, etc! Thank you so much!
Oh Pam, this is so exciting! I can just imagine all the fun in the “Girl’s House” (you are one of the three!). You’ll have such fun decorating and I know the Littles will adore it. That Butch! He should give lessons to men around the world!
Thank you Jeanie. It will definitely be girls only according to Ella Mae!

So glad you’re getting your She Shed!! Looking forward to all the beauty you will be displaying along with those girls!! I enjoy my shed…..I’ve had a shed for about 20yrs but called it my garden shed. I have it decorated like a cottage inside and change porch decor seasonally.
Thank you Nancy, your garden shed sounds lovely.
OH, how exciting!!!!! This is just so sweet! Your husband is surely a kind and loving man, and you are very patient. May the Lord bless all of your efforts and make this dream a reality for you! I tried to think of a suggestion to share for the name but nothing is coming to me. I know it will be special whatever you choose to call it and can’t wait to see the finished product!
Thanks so much Cheryl. I am excited to make many wonderful memories with my girls.
It’s the perfect place to make lasting memories with your family. It will be filled with laughter, creativity, special furniture and much more!!! A She Shed or She Den with each of your grandchildren’s name etched in the wood would make it real memorable. Enjoy❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much. I like your suggestion. Have a lovely weekend!
How delightful!
Thanks so much!

And you thought the RM responded to your message, when it was someone above tapped him on the shoulder and said the time had come, let the construction begin….. So why not a glorious sign – Heaven’s Blessing….
(Heaven from whence all good things come…. and here a place in AL where all good things happen.) A creative Renaissance retreat to fill with love and laughter to the delight of your precious little ones. Oh, through French doors, no less.
Thank you Mary. I am most excited and yes, it is a blessing and a sweet gift from my RM!
Wow, that is absolutely awesome!!!
