“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””
Galatians 5:13-14
Happy Tuesday dear readers! I hope you all are enjoying the first week of summer. When I think of summer tablescapes, I immediately think of red, white, and blue. With the 4th of July fast approaching, I have joined a group of table stylists for a Patriotic Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe at Celebrate & Decorate and Andrea at Design Morsels. Please join me for a patriotic garden table!
“Freedom is one of the deepest and noblest aspirations of the human spirit.”
-Ronald Reagan
In preparation for a tablescape, I normally start with an inspiration piece. It can be flowers from my garden, dishware, or in this case a tablecloth. The blue and white checked tablecloth often graced my beloved mom’s Sunday after church lunch tables! It was my jumping off point, and everything else seemed to fall in place!
The centerpiece is a pitcher filled with Nikko and Annabelle hydrangeas and Crocosmia providing a pop of red!
All the links are provided at the bottom of this post for beautiful patriotic tablescape inspiration!
In my humble opinion, no patriotic tablescape is complete without American flags!
“I’d like to be remembered as a person who wanted to be free and wanted other people to be also free.”
-Rosa Parks
“O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea!
-Katherine Lee Bates
The flags at each place setting are the perfect takeaway gift for guests. My favorite stemware for the 4th of July was ordered years ago from Horchow and it has long been discontinued!
The plate stack…glass cobalt blue charger, Royal Stafford “Oriental Pheasant” dinner plate, American Atelier “Baroque” salad plate, and Johnson Brothers “willow” dessert plate!
“In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.”
-Franklin D. Roosevelt
I paired red and navy napkins with star napkin rings!
“If anyone, then, asks me the meaning of our flag, I say to him – it means just what Concord and Lexington meant; what Bunker Hill meant; which was, in short, the rising up of a valiant young people against an old tyranny to establish the most momentous doctrine that the world had ever known – the right of men to their own selves and to their liberties.”
-Henry Ward Beecher
Our plans for the 4th of July are much the same as always…family will come to our house for the traditional menu…
…grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with baked beans, potato salad, and homemade ice cream! Hopefully with weather permitting, we will enjoy the festivities outdoors. What are your plans?

Pam, My heart beats red, white and blue and I share your garden love so your table is extra spectacular to me! I’m not familiar with Crocosmia and I love the graceful pop of red they provide tucked among your hydrangeas. Such a beautiful plate stack topped with your cobalt glass vases of take away flags and lovely tablecloth of your beloved mom. Your Peter Marshall quote is so fitting for this time in our country. If only we would all take that to heart. So happy to be hopping with you today. ❤️🇺🇸💮💙
Thanks so much Mary. I am going to dig up some Crocosmia this fall from my friend’s hydrangea farm. It is so pretty en masse!
Another stunning table, Pam! Your plate stack is creative and I love the dramatic touch with the vases full of flags at each place setting. My eye went to your lovely blue and white vase immediately full of beautiful hydrangeas. Your Crocosmia is such a pretty red.
You shared wonderful quotes today. I’m pinning.
May your 4th of July be extra special with your family.
Thank you for pinning Bonnie!
What a festive table.Hydrangeas are amazing. I love the Chinoiserie , will pin to my tablescape board.
Thank you Maria!
What a beautiful table all ready for the 4th of July! Your plate stack is lovely along with your Mom’s tablecloth and that spectacular centerpiece full of hydrangeas. How wonderful that you have your Mother’s treasures to be used. One day Emma and Ella will do the same.
And your quote was perfect! Thank you for another lovely tablescape inspiration!
Happy Tuesday to you!
Thank you my friend.
Your beautiful garden creates such a lovely backdrop for your charming tablescape, Pam. Your hydrangeas are absolutely stunning! Pinned! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Thank you Cecilia!
Very festive, Pam! Those blue hydrangeas are perfection.
Thank you Jeanie!
Pam, this may be one of your most beautiful tables ever! I love every single detail, especially the flags at each place setting. Your scriptures and quotations are spot on. In spite of what our country is experiencing right now, we do live in the greatest country on earth. And I know that Americans are kind, loving, and generous people.
You are so sweet Roxanne.
Such a beautiful table setting! Love the patriotic theme.
Thank you Penny!
A stunning table Pam. Your Mother’s tablecloth is the perfect foundation for the beautiful red, white and blue. You have so many wonderful backdrops on your property that add such beauty to each photo. In one of the photos I could see “the beautiful spacious skies”. Perfectly done my friend. We will probably go to Jenn’s and my wonderful SIL will grill. Oma will take her ice cream maker! I loved all your quotes. God Bless America.
Thank you Dianne. Your 4th celebration sounds perfect!
Pam, your festive tablescape is just beautiful. Your tablecloth is so pretty. Your centerpiece is gorgeous. I haven’t heard of crocosmia. It’s a lovely plant that we’re going to investigate. Enjoy your Tuesday! Clara♥️
Thank you so much Clara ♥️
Spectacular, Pam!!! From every direction your table is just absolutely beautiful!!! Those hydrangeas are wonderful, I am assuming they are from your garden, if so- I would love to know if you use any type of fertilizer on them!?! They pair up with your mom’s table cloth so beautifully and you have dressed your table to compliment that!!! So pretty!! I hope you enjoy your 4th🇺🇸❤️💙
Ann, thank you for your kind comments. These hydrangeas are from my friend’s hydrangea farm. I wish I could claim them.
Pam, this is such a beautiful tribute to our beloved country! Everything looks just gorgeous from your beautiful centerpiece and lovely plate stack to the pretty tablecloth that belonged to your dear mother. I think it was the perfect inspiration piece! Happy Tuesday, sweet friend!
Thank you Shannon.
Pam a beautiful and perfect 4th of July table. I adore every little touch. And, one of these days I do know that I will be able to pull that gorgeous stemware through the screen if I keep trying. Oh, it is so pretty. Loads of inspiration here today. Have a wonderful day, my friend. ❤
Thanks so much Sandra. I would love to have at least four more glasses, I have broken two.
Red white and blue just sings in your garden Pam! Your mother’s blue checked cloth couldn’t be more perfect for a table of flags and patriotism! Your gorgeous plates and my very favorite stemware look wonderful with the flying flags and garden hydrangeas…I love all the quotes you included too, God bless the USA!
Jenna
Thank you Jenna.
Pam, everything looks so pretty. Love the soft blue with the red. Your scenery looks so peaceful and a beautiful area to relax in. Love your table.
Thanks so much Terrie!
That is SO lovely! You have quite an eye for color and design.
Thanks so much Cindie!
Every aspect of the whole is sheer perfection. Your blog could have given Horchow a windfall of sales has the stemware not
been discontinued; most of us want it…..The table just sings “God Bless America” … bless her indeed. Are we not fortunate to have shared in this united tradition every Fourth? Your choice of quotations is spot on. Many thanks for the beauty and
creative nod to patriotism.
Thank you my kind friend. I love setting a red, white, and blue table. My precious dad is a Korean War veteran and he taught my brother and me to be patriotic.
A gorgeous table Pam with the hydrangeas as the star of the table. so many of us are using the hydrangeas.
Your mother’s tablecloth is perfect with your chosen dinnerware. Love the blue. A table of flag is so perfect. I adore how each setting has the vase with flags. Loving those glasses. A delightful table to celebrate America.
Linda, thanks so much. I love setting a red, white, and blue table!
So, so beautiful. I love all the tables, so much inspiration.
Thanks so much Nonie!
You can tell I skipped lunch, because now I want those hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and potato salad! I think that will be my menu for the holiday too…if I can just wait that long! Now, let’s talk about that beautiful table! I love the choice of the chinoiserie vase for the beautiful hydrangeas! What really caught my eye, though, was the sweet little vases full of American flags! I may copy that idea next year! All in all, a lovely table that anyone would love to dine at! Thank you for once again sharing your table styling talents!
Thank you Chloe, it is always my pleasure to join the hops!
Pam HAPPY 4th OF JULY As usual your tablescape is beautiful beyond words. Love all the patriotic things.
Marilyn,Joan and Marion
Thanks so much Marion, Marilyn, and Joan!
Could those hydrangeas be any prettier?!! Wow, they are gorgeous and they coordinate beautifully with your checked tablecloth. I can’t stop staring at this stunning table. You are so talented, my friend!
Shelley
Shelley, you are so sweet.
This table is so beautiful, and being set in the garden embodies all that our forefathers worked so hard to initially achieve in America – a place to feel at liberty to live, grow and give thanks for the freedom that came with it. Pam, it’s always so interesting for me to read a stylist’s springboard for inspiration. Your mother’s tablecloth not only represents the colors for patriotism, but the legacy of our greatest generation who fought so hard for our continued freedom. Your stemware is a favorite of mine, and those bud vases on each place setting with the flags are really pretty! A joy to visit virtually, and I’m sure the best to be able to be there in person. Enjoy!
Thanks so much Rita. Yes, the greatest generation fought hard and sacrificed for our freedoms.
Love, love, LOVE how you incorporate the flag into your beautiful tablescapes! That is such a wonderful quote by Henry Ward Beecher – SO, so true. Our liberties are so in jeopardy in our great nation, and how I pray that God will have mercy on us all. It hurts me to the core to see the monuments desecrated and pulled down. And, even deeper hurt is to see how our Lord is looked upon with such disdain in our society. Such disregard for His Word and for all He bled and died for. Your beautiful post brought great comfort to me today. I so appreciate you and all you do. Many blessings to you, my friend.
Thanks so much sweet friend. I appreciate your comments and visits.
Your hydrangea arrangement is stunning! Your yard look so lush and green, what a beautiful setting for a beautiful table. Thanks for taking part in the hop.
Thank you Andrea for your work in putting together the blog hop.
Pam, what a beautiful baby blue color in your lovely tablesetting. It was most striking for me. It contrasts so splendidly with the lush green colors in your elegant garden. Your hint of bright red color adds a pop of bold and vibrant eye-catching color. Your centerpiece is stunning and your cobalt blue chargers and stemware make a lovely statement. Such a beautiful table to have all that family fun and delicious food. I could go for some of that potato salad. Have a great Fourth.
Thanks so much Marsha.
How gorgeous a Tablescape. I just love your hydrangea centerpiece with those red flowers coming out of the top. So fun hopping with you again.
Thank you Cynthia. Happy Weekend!
The vases are so awesome! They really catch the eye! Glad to be hopping with you!
Thank you Kristen!
Pam, your outdoor tablescapes are so swoon worthy with the gorgeous gardens as a backdrop. I love how you started with your mother’s blue and white tablecloth as an inspiration piece…that shade of blue coordinates so well with your hydrangeas. You have the perfect ratio of red, white and blue. The colors look so vibrant! I have the same Johnson Bros Blue Willow salad plates. They’re so classic and go with everything. I love how they look on your plate stack. It was fun joining you on the hop. Happy 4th of July!
Thank you Rebecca for your sweet comments. Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸
