“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
Psalm 119:10-11
Reflections of…what are you reflecting on this July 4th weekend?
The Tree of Heaven is a fast growing tree that is disliked by some and considered invasive but it is unique and offers some very interesting pics when the reproductive cycle hits in June and July.
This Tree of Heaven is not too far from us and every year we find ourselves stopping to get a few photos!
We noticed these vines recently and their heart shaped leaves but the blooms popped out almost overnight. A native plant in our area, it is called man of the earth, wild potato vine, wild rhubarb, and a few other common names.
Princesses at play with the older leading the way!
We promised a throwback on Sunday’s so here you go. We’ve skied this area but this day it was hard to envision snow. Vail Colorado, July 2012!
A piece of stale bread or maybe a slice of ham? That’s what we thought at first but discovered it was a mushroom. Hopefully some of our experts can identify this one.
The Busy Bees are not practicing social distancing!
Elderberry is common along our roadsides and very eye catching in June and July. We were able to get a few pics before the state mowers came by!
The Rose of Sharon is of the hibiscus group and their blooms are around for a day and then replaced by new ones. We had some young shrubs that would have provided white blooms but deer found them tasty!
The remains of the Saharan dust provided unusual color for this sunset. It rained a lot earlier this day yet the dust was still evident. We couldn’t help but wonder how dust was still in the atmosphere after heavy thunderstorm activity.
And now the dust has cleared and given way to a typical humid July afternoon!

Happy Sunday Pam and Butch! It looks like Summer Beauty is all around you… especially when the princesses skip through.
I have seen elderberry blossoms starting as well and hope to get some pictures today. I think I may need to go for a bike ride to see if I can find any.
I am sure your Fourth was lovely with family fun!
Enjoy your Sunday and thank you for such beautiful pictures of the area that surrounds you.

Thank you Nancy. Elderberry juice and syrup is a big thing right now! They do have pretty blooms. Have a beautiful Sunday my friend!

Beautiful blooms, beautiful sunsets and really beautiful granddaughters. Their dresses look like April Cornell. Interesting reflection in the pond..I am reflecting on many things during this pandemic but trying to stay in the moment as every day is a gift from God. I have never seen a Tree of Heaven..perhaps I have and didn’t know what it was. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful Sunday.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Dianne. Those are AC dresses. Have a beautiful Sunday my friend!

Happy Independence Day weekend! I love when you identify wild plants that I frequently see but don’t know their names. Tree of Heaven is a new one for me. I have Rose of Sharon, another pass along from a friend. The hummingbirds love it, but wow does it like to self sow. I love the girls’ dresses! Tomorrow is my big day, we have to be at the hospital at 9:00. I’ve spent the weekend getting projects done and putting some meals in the freezer since I won’t be able to lift more than 5 pounds for awhile (a bag of sugar!). Prayers appreciated, especially for my medical team and that John stays safe in the waiting area.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I am praying for you Roxanne and John. I will be checking FB for updates. Sounds like you are well prepared. Sending love and hugs♥️

Good morning Pam and Butch! The girls are so cute in their colorful dresses. They are having such fun and look so happy! It makes me smile. I didn’t know rose of Sharon was in the hibiscus family. I think they’re so pretty when they bloom. I hate the deer found them tasty. Our deer just stop and look at us when we interrupt them like “really, why are you interrupting us”? I always learn new facts from you; the Tree of Heaven I’ve seen but didn’t know the name. Elderberry is everywhere along our roadways. The 1st picture is a favorite. I would love to be sitting with a picnic lunch just enjoying nature with my husband. It’s a peaceful scene. Always love the sunsets. Enjoy your day! Clara ♥️🇺🇸

Thank you dearest Clara. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday ♥️

Good morning, Pam. Such beautiful photos. The Tree of Heaven has such a pretty color, I am not familiar with it. Oh, Pam those girls are so precious. Their little dresses are darling. And the sunset photos are simply glorious. The last one is my favorite.
Have a lovely day and week ahead, dear friend. Stay well.

I’m so happy to know the girls matching dresses are April Cornell. I’ve always wondered where she found all the adorable matching outfits. Maybe some are other brands along the way also. They always look so cute.
As always, I love the sunset pictures. It has been so cloudy here I’ve missed the Sahara Dust effects. I got one sunrise through the trees picture and it was such a wonder to view. I woke up during the night last night and was able to see the full moon through the fog. It was just after midnight. Such an usual scene to have fog and a full moon. I didn’t think at that time to try to get a picture but was content to see the moon. It has been a long time since I’ve seen it.
Interesting flora and fauna today. My daughter-in-law is a firm believer in the benefits of taking Elderberry for colds.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Bonnie. I bought these AC dresses for the girls along with non matching for each Princess. These are the first AC dresses they have. It sounds like seeing the full moon through the fog was amazing. Thinking of you all!

Thanks to the Lord and elderberry syrup, I don’t catch colds/flu and suspect it is a deterrent during this pandemic. Your Sabbath gallery of photos is a balm to the spirit and I can hear the princesses laughter as they try to outrun one another.
Joining the prayer circle for Roxanne and John ; that He will keep them in perfect peace and healing. Bless you Pam and
Butch for this lovely Sunday pause of prayer and the beauty that surrounds us.

Thanks dearest Mary. I know Roxanne and John appreciate your prayers. Wishing you a lovely week my friend♥️

My dear friend, I am alive … I exist … hahahaha. The past week has been a lot of family work. They were all at home, a total of 8 people. It had been 5 months since I saw my daughter Leticia and her children because of this virus … It has been a very difficult week that I did not have time to work on my blogs. Now I am alone and I can take advantage of my free time.
Beautiful trees and beautiful landscapes, but the most beautiful are these two beautiful girls who every time the samples are more beautiful and older.
The landscape of the first photo seems great to me!
A hug
