“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
Psalm 19:14
Hello sweet readers! I hope everyone has enjoyed the 4th of July weekend. I am afraid I might have overindulged with the home-made ice cream. I know that none of you would be guilty of eating too much?!
I am so glad that you have chosen to spend a little time with me. It is the first Monday of the month and that means Monday Morning Blooms with my talented friends!
“Smiling like a superstar the morning comes in singing
The promise of another sunny day
And all the flowers open up to gather in the sunshine
I do believe that summer’s here to stay.”
-John Denver
July is blooming in my garden…
…and on my tabletop!
You will find the links for my lovely friends at the bottom of this post!
I cut busy bee sunflowers, limelights, zinnias, and hosta leaves from my garden. A trip to the flower farm provided cosmos, celosia, and amaranth to create a colorful summertime bouquet!
A “Flower Market” canister by MacKenzie-Childs adds more blooms to the table. This was my first ever MC purchase…it was on sale.
In the background, vanilla strawberry hydrangeas are in bloom and are punctuated by sunshine ligustrum. Their chartreuse color highlights the dark green leaves found on the hydrangeas!
I must tell you it was entirely too hot to enjoy alfresco dining. It was 93 degrees while I was photographing and the heat index was near 100. Needless to say, we enjoyed dinner inside with the air-conditioner.
I purposely kept the table simple in order to spotlight the flowers. Sur la Table “rose garden” dinnerware by April Cornell added even more bloom!
If you have been following recently you know how excited I am about the construction of my little garden cottage. I just had to include a photo with the cottage in the background. It isn’t finished, but we are getting there!
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the blue sky, is by no means waste of time.”
-John Lubbock

So idyllic Pam. You truly get such a sense of calm and beauty when you present your beautiful table in your garden setting. Oh those vanilla strawberry hydrangeas are magnificent. I have seen them in areas our our town and they are truly a show stopper. The April Cornell Cornell dishes of cabbage roses are the perfect summertime dinnerware and how beautiful they are on your garden table. I envy those who can place hosta leaves in their floral arrangements as they are truly dessert for deer in my yard. Oh, and that MKC canister/vase just makes those flowers sing!…Happy Monday Pam and so wonderful to share this day with you and our MMB friends. Looking forward to the progress of your garden cottage!
Thank you dearest Shirley. It is always my pleasure to share Monday Morning Blooms with you!
Pam, What a beautiful arrangement of flowers from your garden and the flower farm! I love the contrast of the dark cosmos, celosia, and amaranth paired with the cheery yellow sunflowers and hydrangeas. Your MKC flower market vase makes a gorgeous vessel to showcase them and your sunshine ligustrum in the background really makes it pop! Your AC rose garden dishes are such a pretty addition to your table, as is your garden cottage in the background. It was a very hot and humid here this weekend with the heat index in the triple digits….no outdoor dining in the foreseeable future for us 🙂 As always it’s a treat to join you in the garden and for some flower therapy. Happy Monday ♥
Thank you Mary. Thankfully, is has only been in the 80’s today with could skies!
Delightful Pam! I love your MC canister as a vase and your lovely combination of flowers. The hosta leaves add a lovely dimension. The colors are complimented by the sunshine ligustrum and strawberry hydrangeas in the background. I love your new dishes. So pretty! I know you are excited by your cottage. I can’t wait to see the reveal. You have been working hard with a myriad of details I know.
The extreme humidity hit here this morning. We have had a lot of rain.
Hi Bonnie, it is only in the 80’s today with overcast skies. It has been a relief. Thanks so much for your sweet comments!
Pam, your table is just amazing. Love the AC cabbage Rose dinnerware. Your centerpiece is beautifully done and the vanilla strawberry hydrangeas are a beautiful backdrop. Beautiful photo near the garden cottage. Look forward to the progress of your garden cottage. Your quotes fit beautifully with your post. Have a great week.

Oh, my! SOOO beautiful! It is hard to imagine how hot it was when you took the photos! Thank the dear Lord for air conditioning! Have a wonderful week, my friends. 🙂
Yes, Cheryl we are so thankful for air conditioning!
Another beautiful and inspiring post, Pam. Adding the hosta leaves is great idea, and one I would never have thought of. That is probably a good indication why I don’t do blog posts on flower arranging. Have a great week where you are.
Thank you Libby. Have a lovely week!
Such a beautiful bouquet and table setting. Your garden yields amazing flowers!
Thanks so much Penny!
Pam, I love your arrangement in the MC canister. Your pretty plates are so colorful. Your table is so inviting. The hosta leaves really add a pop of chartreuse and compliments the maroon stems. Enjoy your week. Clara♥️

Love this outdoor arrangement, Pam! It’s about that time of year when it’s hard to be outside other than very early or very late in the day, but you certainly made the best of it. The photo setting conjures up good feelings of summer and being outside, no matter what the thermometer says! Your garden provides not only a perfect backdrop, but perfect floral selections too.
Thanks so much Rita! Early morning is my favorite time in the garden!

You ARE blooming — and beautifully! It’s like fantasy land to me. My blooms are never grand nor the tables so divine so I like to imagine stepping into your garden (even if it’s hot and humid!) and enjoying that setting.

Hugs,
Debbie
Thank you so much Debbie. We are having a little break in temps and I am so glad, but they will return with a vengeance!
Pam, your floral bouquet is gorgeous! The colors of the flowers are so striking and compliment each other beautifully! I spotted that AC dinnerware first off. I have been eyeing it for quite sometime on the Sur La Table website. It is difficult to have restraint, because they are so pretty! I just keep asking myself where will I store them??? Every extra cabinet is full of dishes, glassware, and table linens. I have a terrible addiction to pretty dishes and table decor! I love your new MC flower market piece. She always puts the Flower Market collection on sale in the summer. That is when both my Mom and I have purchased our pieces. I am so excited about your cottage, and I can’t wait to see all of the progress! Take care, and have a most beautiful day, dear friend!
Thank you dear Shannon. The AC dishware was purchased at half price, so that was a win. I understand about lack of storage. Wishing you a lovely day my sweet friend!
So beautiful! Your flowers are just stunning…I love the bold colors together. The plates are to die for as is your yard. So so pretty! I would love to have you join my Centerpiece Wednesday Linky party and share this post with us! https://karinskottage.com/2020/07/welcome-to-centerpiece-wednesday-july-8.html Hope to see you there!

Those sunflowers always steal the show, don’t they, Pam!
My mom was given a few and I’m trying to keep them alive. Maybe dry them to keep for the autumn days to come?!
Thank you Linda. I do dry sunflowers, they won’t hold up forever.
I always love your tablescapes and verses you choose. I love the tea setting.
Thanks so much sweet Rebecca. Have a wonderful weekend!
