New this year, the “Little Lamb” hydrangeas are blooming nicely. They’ve done really well in a season when other plants seem to have struggled or at least been slow!
A local church prayer garden is always beautiful, especially now!
A really great color for crepe myrtle and not as common as other colors maybe?
We are thinking EM is now considering herself the Queen of our hill and PJ has been reduced to Princess!
And EK doesn’t care what title she has as long as she can be released to travel where she wishes!
Our throwback this week takes us to one of the most unique places we’ve had the privilege of visiting. The ochre in these hills is a natural clay earth pigment. And the nearby village of Roussillon, France was fascinating. It is considered one of the most impressive villages in France and is situated in the heart of one of the biggest ochre deposits in the world.
It is July but the purple passion flower, or maypop as it’s commonly known, is too pretty to pass up. It is a favorite of butterflies!
An easy place to take a walk in the shade and be socially distanced!
We’ve had a struggle with zinnias this year, having replanted several times, but they are now proving they are worth the trouble!
The close of another July day. It was well after sundown and a cooler time to enjoy a stroll through the garden: if your wearing insect repellant!
With a little imagination these unusual clouds look similar to several things. The longer we stared at them the more our minds kept finding new ideas. All in the eye of the beholder!
Partly cloudy days have been common this summer providing many breathtaking sunsets! We’ve enjoyed seeing a lot of beautiful pics of sunrises and sunsets that others have posted recently. Some really amazing photos out there!

Good Morning Pam and Butch. What a lovely stroll through your gardens this morning. And I also enjoyed the church gardens as they reminded me of a church garden in Tuscany we saw last year this time.
I enjoy seeing your sunrise and sunsets. I mentioned to Sweet Man the other day that we have not made a trip across the lake to watch one as of late. He replied… the sun goes down quite late (9:15ish.) We are getting old!
The girls are as pretty as ever! Happy Sunday to you both!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Nancy, Sweet Man cracked me up. I hope you disagreed that you were not getting old. Take that trip across the lake and take some beautiful photos and tell him I said so π€£π€£ Have a delightful week!
Nancy says
Lol! We will… as the sun is going down a little earlier now. Lol!
Roxanne Bernard says
Happy Sunday! The garden photos are stunning and serene, that pale pink crepe myrtle and the prayer garden are beautiful. And Iβve never seen ochre…amazing! Princess EK is growing so quickly. There is 16 years between me and my darling sister; we decided years ago Mama would always be queen and we were the princesses! Post surgery is going well. Iβm bored, which is a good sign, because I canβt lift more than 4 pounds, twist, lean, etc. But if boredom is my only complaint, Iβm truly blessed!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Roxanne, I love the relationship you have with your darling sister. Yβall are definitely princesses. I am glad you are doing so well after surgery. I agree, boredom is not so bad!
Alice Genzlinger says
I thought the cloud looked like a pair of hands. Gods? The mosquitos have been awful here this year. I agree with Bonnieβs comment about her mom as queen and she and her sister as princesses. The crepe myrtle is one of my favorite blooms. I miss them terribly.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, I thought the same thing about the clouds. Crepe myrtles never disappoint! Have a lovely week!
Clara says
Good morning Pam and Butch! The pictures are beautiful as always. Your new hydrangeas are lovely. The girls are so cute and their dresses are adorable. I love the ochre picture; it looks like an amazing place to visit. Is that an old railroad trestle where you can socially distance? I love those. Your garden is outstanding! This year in the garden has been challenging indeed but the crepe myrtles never disappoint. They’re always so colorful. Enjoy your day and stay safe. Please be careful in this heat! Claraβ₯οΈ
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Clara, yes it is an old railroad trestle and is still in use. It is the oldest bridge that crosses our river. Wishing you a delightful week, stay cool! β₯οΈ

The prayer garden is so peaceful looking…and I’ve never seen or heard of a “Maypop” what an unusual flower! The girls always are dressed to the nines, and these outfits are adorable! Stunning sunsets for sure, have a lovely Sunday Pam and Butch!

Good Sunday morning, Pam. Such beautiful, beautiful photos today. Those girls – they become sweeter and more lovely with every photo. I know you treasure every moment you spend with them.
Pam, I have grown zinnias for over 40 years and I had trouble with them this year as well. Truly, a first for me. Mine are now growing and hope to see blooms soon.
Loved your photo of France and the sunrise and sunset. Wishing you and your family a beautiful and peaceful day. And a happy week to you, dear friend.β€

VIsiting both your lookback trip to Yellowstone/Grand Teton and today’s garden variety, it’s always a good time to pause and take in the beauty of your experiences through photos. The girls are just adorable. I love watching their looks change over the weeks. The garden is beautiful. I love the passion flower, and your new hydrangeas look pretty flanking the entry to the evening garden. Have a great week.

Between the heat, rain, critters and insects July can be challenging but it doesn’t seem to effect the overall beauty of your gardens. And the little ones are absolutely adorable in their flowery dresses. π

My dear friend, today you fill us with beauty in those original photos. I love everything…
The girls are more beautiful every day, the girl grows very fast, I can already see her as a small woman and she is also very beautiful as her sister.
I loved the photos, but I was surprised by the gray color photo which is like a strange passage, it is a great photo!
Summer is really coming, with its appropriate heat and that wears down my soul … hahahaha
On Thursday I will upload my last summer post because I will go with my daughter to Granada to enjoy a little of my grandchildren (6 and 3 years old) and I do not know if I will return at the end of August.
I wish you a good summer not too hot.
With love

what those little princesses are, Pam. The close-ups of the purple passion flower and zinnia are stunning. Many thanks to

Pam, the prayer garden is so beautiful and serene. The photos of the girls are precious. I couldn’t help but notice Ella Mae’s painted nails! They are growing up so much. Lots of love to all.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good morning Patti. The prayer garden is at FBC, it may have been established after you moved. Ella Mae is a girlie girl. Her mommy paints her nails for her and it lasts about two days. Happy Monday my friend.

I’ll tell you what, that photo looks to me like two giant hands resting over the earth, and it gave me SO much comfort! I know God has His mighty hand upon us all, and even though the world around us is reeling out of control in such disarray and craziness, our loving Heavenly Father is still completely in control of us. Praise His holy name! We can depend upon Him never changing. Those precious grandgirls just get cuter as the days go by! SO sweet! So wonderful to visit with you dear ones tonight, and again, we are SOOOO grateful to you for your kind book review and for every commenter’s encouraging words. May the Lord bless you richly!
