“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it— the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
Jeremiah 33:2-3
The morning light was so unusual for a few minutes one day this past week that it gave pics the appearance of a painting on canvas!
A short time later, with different light and no fog, everything takes on new look!
We were visited by a peacock earlier in the spring but he has now been replaced by an immature heron. Immature as indicated by the plumage and also by the fact that it decided to hang out by our front door, seemingly lost!
The Mountain Mint is once again blooming everywhere along some open areas near our house. It is native and like other true mints, it is used in cooking and making herbal tea. Pam has yet to try the tea, however maybe some day!
Emma trusts that this baby is just as happy upside down as it would be in another position!
Ella Mae realizes this baby is much older (Pam’s childhood doll) and doesn’t need to stand on her head!
August brings on another hay harvest. Not quite as dry as some years so this second cutting yielded a decent number of bales!
The sunflower backdrop has begun to fade in the last couple of days as the blooms are becoming spent with fewer new ones appearing.
Working on learning to fly and take a few drone shots. So far no crashes!
This lavender beauty showed up in some spots nearby where we did not recall seeing it in past summers. A bit of research indicates it is likely a native plant known as devil’s bit, or some sources say devil’s bite. Maybe some of you are familiar with it and can give us some facts?
Our throwback this week is found in England and is the ruins of Corfe Castle. We had traveled there from the Isle of Portland, the southernmost part of the county Dorset.
August brings out one of the sweetest fragrances to fill the air all year long, at least in Butch’s opinion. And no, it is not a native plant, but it is here and we will make the most of kudzu. Shouldn’t it make us feel better to know the plant is in the pea family?
Thanks to Appalachian Digital Media (ADM) for some truly great, “late in the day”, drone shots along the river to our southeast.
And as you fly back northwest our pasture comes into view. I will leave most of the drone work to the professional so as not to lose my drone in the river or woods to never see it again!

Good Morning Butch and Pam! Lovely shots of all the beauty that surrounds you.
The princesses are getting bigger and such beauties as well.
I thought your Drone shot was wonderful Butch!
Enjoy this beautiful Sunday!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good morning Nancy. Thanks so much for visiting with me as I am enjoying my coffee. Wishing you a most wonderful Sunday!
Rita C. says
I really love the drone shot of your own landscape garden! It’s so nice to see the overview. Kudzu may be slightly forgiven for its sweet fragrance but gosh it is SO invasive! It is everywhere along roadways in WV. ADM photos are beautiful, and so are those little girls of yours. Pam, I love how careful EM seems to be with your childhood doll, which is still in terrific condition. I bet EK can turn your whole world upside down, not just her baby doll, lol! Have a great, new week.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Rita. Kudzu has almost been eradicated on our roadsides. Yes, EK can turn everything upside down and sideways, lol! Enjoy your week!

Beautiful post. I love the drone shot looking down on your sunflowers and limelights and beyond.
The girls look beautiful and I spy some shots from the inside of your cottage! I am amazed Pam’s doll looks so good and how nice the girls can play with it.
Gorgeous sunset along the river by your son.
Your first pic of the pasture did look like a painting.
Have a lovely week. Happy Sunday.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I told Butch he could not say how old the doll is, lol! Thank you Bonnie. Wishing you and Mike a lovely week and Happy Sunday!

Such a beautiful post this Sunday morning. The first pic just stole my heart. It could have been a pic of my childhood farm. You captured such beauty..the hydrangeas with a background of sunflowers, the devil’s bit, your drone shots and the beautiful sunsets. There is something so amazingly beautiful about ruins and I really loved this pic. I want to say how beautiful things can emerge from the ashes but I am not sure why I find them so beautiful. Ella Mae grows more beautiful by the day and Emma is pure delight. What a magnificent morning at your farm. May the Love of God that passeth all understanding keep us in perfect peace today and every day.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Amen and Amen Dianne. Thanks so much for your sweet comments. Wishing you a most wonderful Sunday my friend!

Beautiful post this morning, dear friend. The girls look so angelic. I love the doll from your childhood, and wonder if it is the one Emma Mae said, “looks like Aunt Patti?”
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you and yes the doll is the one Ella Mae said looks like Aunt Patti. What do you think?
Patti Fralix says
I can see the resemblance! Ella Mae is so smart, and sweet.

Good morning Pam and Butch. Such lovely photos to begin my day. Those girls really do become more beautiful and sweet with every photo. Honestly, they do. I love the opening photo, it does look like a painting. And the sunset photos are glorious. A beautiful post.

Your grandgirls are such cuties!
I love seeing the symmetry of your garden captured in the drone shots. If I sent a drone up for a photo of my yard, I’m not sure it would know what to focus on. Ha!
I’m praying you and Butch have a blessed and beautiful Sunday.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Cindie. Wishing you a blessed week!

Pam and Butch, The pictures are outstanding. The first one really does look like a canvas. The drone shots are wonderful. Love the landscape shots. The sunsets are breathtaking. The girls are adorable and are really growing up. We had 3 cooler days with low humidity. It was heavenly! We’re back in the oven now but enjoyed the respite. Hope you have a great week! Clara ♥️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Clara. We had a couple of days with lower humidity, but not today. Have a lovely week ♥️

Love all the photos, especially the drone shot of your garden. You are correct about the first one looking like a landscape painting…are the cattle yours?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Karen. That is the pasture next to ours, the cattle are not ours!

The first picture does look like a painting. Love seeing the pictures you post on Sundays. The girls are growing so fast. Ella Mae looks so grown and photogenic with your doll. Also she favors doll…lol…cute! EM must think her doll likes standing on her head…lol I’m being teased to see a tiny shot of your Cottage.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Nancy. I haven’t been able to put the finishing touches on the cottage. Hopefully soon…have a lovely week!
lulu says
I love the tranquility of the first shot. The photos of the girls remind me of how different our girls are. They look as different as yours and when they were little it was not unusual to be asked if one was adopted.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Linda. Our girls definitely do not look like sisters!
Alice Genzlinger says
Oh I love the first picture with the beautiful light and the cows in the pasture. As we drove through Nebraska on our way to our farm in SD, we saw so many bales of hay and it is still so green from the rains they have enjoyed even in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. Here in SD everything is beautiful. The acres and acres of corn fields are so high my husband stood in the field with his hand high over his head and he couldn’t be seen. Oh by the way, the sweet corn is coming in and it’s delicious.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Alice. The corn fields sound lovely especially producing sweet corn. Enjoy the farm!
Roxanne Bernard says
I love all the pictures today. Butch, you are getting really good with your drone! My husband was building and flying RC planes for awhile…a couple are still stuck waaay up in the trees at the flying field. That is an expensive Oops. Pam, I have that same doll!! Mine is a bridal doll that Santa brought one year.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Oops, that was expensive. I told Butch he could not say how old the doll was!
