“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”
Proverbs 16:24
Hello sweet friends. I certainly hope your week is off to a good start. I haven’t shared a tablescape at the picnic table in several weeks. It is a shaded area which is most pleasant during these hot August days!
“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.”
-Camille Pissarro
The “artist garden” tablecloth by April Cornell was my inspiration for the tablesetting!
In case you haven’t noticed, I have a weakness for floral tablecloths!
The lavender luncheon napkins were purchased by a friend from an estate sale along with a beautiful matching tablecloth.
Woven placemats, Portmeirion Botanic Garden dinner plate, Noritake Reverie salad plate, Bordallo Pinheiro salad plate, and Spode Mayflower saucer bowl combine for a colorful plate stack!
Iridescent wine glasses were a pretty find at TJ Maxx last year!
The flower arrangement is so simple…limelight hydrangeas, hot pink crape myrtle blooms, and a few sprigs of coleus!
The rustic split rail fence and Rose of Sharon trees make a carefree country background for the picnic table!
Thank you for your lovely visits and gracious comments. Wishing each of you a delightful day!

Good morning sweet Pam. What a beautiful way to start my day. I love the colors in your plate stacks, the wine glass, and the beautiful background with the Rose of Sharon and fence. It’s all perfection. Blessings for a wonderful day! 💚
Swoon Pam! What a GORGEOUS tablecloth, napkins and dish stack! I’m lovin’ the view from your table to the mountains rising about the trees and green lawn…so serene. It looks so cool and I know it’s not! It’s sweltering here AND so muggy it’s hard to be outdoors long enough to walk the dogs. Stay cool ♥
Thank you Mary. The picnic area is the coolest place to be outside. It is sweltering here.
Good Morning Pam! Your table was a welcome sight today! With all the bad news in the world… I love seeing your beauty! Those napkins are absolutely stunning! Along with the tablecloth. Your yard makes for a fantastic backdrop!

Sweet tablescape Pam. I love love love the plate stack. Who but you could imagine putting those together with the beautiful April Cornell table cloth. Nature gives us all those colors and you show us how to use many colors and pull them together.

Thank you Shirley. I buy from the AC website. Wishing you a lovely day!
So stunning Pam! Of course you had me at “artist garden!” I love the combination of the pretty pinks with the limelight hydrangeas, and the luscious green lawn is a show stopper! I have been amazed driving around Bham at how lush and green everyone’s yards are after all the rain we’ve had this summer! I love the straw mats you chose to use, and the pretty plate stack, such a great texture for your outdoor picnic table! Just beautiful!!
Jenna
Thank you Jenna. The rain has definitely kept Butch busy with mowing. We have had a couple of small showers this week, but we could use more! Have a beautiful Wednesday!
It has rained here almost every day! Usually about the time my son wants to start the grill 😂
0h Pam, that tablecloth is beautiful and the tablescape is so pretty. Love the Spode dishes. They’re such a pretty color. The napkins are so elegant. The bouquet is is just perfect. Hope you have a wonderful week. Clara ♥️

Good morning, Pam! Your table is absolutely breathtaking in that gorgeous setting with the beautiful table linens, pretty flowers, and lovely plate stack. I love the sweet Spode bowls on top. I think I’m partial to Spode China. Happy Tuesday, sweet friend!
Hi Shannon. I am also partial to Spode. Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend!
Pam, your setting just say’s peace to me. The flowers are simple but oh so pretty and looks like something I might be able to do. I have kept my grandmothers tablecloths, and yours reminds me of one of hers.
Nonie, how wonderful to have your grandmother’s tablecloths. Pull them out and enjoy them!
Love the AC tablecloth. Really love her things. The simple and beautiful centerpiece is perfect with the amazing plate stack. Your beautiful surroundings always add such beauty and interest to your tables. So beautiful!
Thanks so much Dianne. Have a lovely Wednesday!
What a lovely picnic too Pam. Loving those beautiful napkins. Oh it’s so hot and humid here. Glad you have a shaded area to have such a lovely picnic. Hope your week is wonderful. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Have a wonderful Wednesday and thank you Cindy!
It looks elegant, refreshing and cool. I’m sure the “cool” is a tough act in your heat and humidity but somehow I feel if I sat there, I’d feel the loveliest breeze!
The picnic area is cooler than the garden. Thank you Jeanie!
So gracefully beautiful!!
Thanks so much!
Pam everything is so pretty. love the tablecloth. Thank You for sharing.
Marilyn
Thank you Marilyn, hope all is well with you!
Your flowers are lovely . The tablescape is breath taking. You have such a way with decorating.
Marion
Hi Marion. I hope all is well with you all!
Such a beautiful, peaceful setting! The napkins are exquisite. I love looking through old linens in antique malls, you just never know what might turn up. The wine glasses remind me of beautiful bubbles blown on a lazy summer day (I bought some bubbles to blow because I thought it would entertain the pups…wrong, it scared them!)
Thank you Roxanne. I would think the pups would love the bubbles. My girls love bubbles and so do! Happy Wednesday!
So, so beautiful! I absolutely love those lavender napkins!! You always pull everything together in the most lovely way! You have such a gift to make things beautiful. May the Lord bless you with a wonderful day, sweet friend!
Thanks so much for your sweet and encouraging words. May the Lord bless you and make His face to shine upon you, my friend!
Your linens and dinnerware really elevate the humble picnic table. And the setting is spectacular. I’m marveling how you can set alfresco tables in the heat. I’m wilting in our 99.9% humidity!
I have been wilting outside. Have a lovely Sunday!
Delightful Pam, so pretty!
Bless you sweet friend ♥
Jennifer
