“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
Revelation 4:11
Our mornings last week were not very sunny and sometimes wet. No complaints however as we consider and pray for our neighbors to the west who have suffered greatly with a powerful hurricane.
A man-made path but still natural and very inviting.
Native sunflowers are becoming quite showy in open undisturbed areas and the “critters” have taken notice!
Dahlia time!
After only 3 days of school, EM has learned almost everything she needs to know and it is now time to move on to important things, like playing!
We planted a small spot in the garden with a variety of seeds for plants we had not attempted in previous years. And, like a few other experiences this season, nothing grew! Some weeks later, while pulling weeds, we noticed something that just did not look like a weed, and chose to leave it. This Texas plume celosia is the result. We had forgotten exactly what seeds we had planted and had to do a little research to determine what it was! Maybe more patience is all that was needed as this variety takes about 90-100 days to mature!
We call this spot the happy patch!
Ironweed is really too pretty to have “weed” as part of it’s name!
A toss back to Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The High Level Bridge towers above the Swing Bridge over the River Tyne. It opened in 1849. There are two decks, with trains running on the upper level and road vehicles underneath. Of the 7 bridges that cross the river here, this one is the oldest.
The Swing Bridge opened in 1876!
I know, you don’t like spiders and snakes…but this guy joined us while on a trail ride and he (or she) was huge.
And then we were given a view of the underside whether we wanted it or not. The colors and detail are amazing even if it is a spider! Maybe someone knows what kind this is? We have no idea.
Thanks for dropping by and have a great week!

Spiders and Snakes and Bears … Oh My! Those are my frights!
Good Morning my friends… It sure is nice to see what you have seen this week. Your happy patch made me smile! Iron weed is new to me but it sure is pretty.
And Emma is right … playing is what it’s all about! What a sweetheart.
Happy Sunday to you all! Enjoy your week! 😊

Thank you Nancy. Wishing you a most enjoyable day and week!

Happy Sunday Pam & Butch! Love your ‘happy patch’ and sweet EM! ♥

Thank you, Mary ♥️

P.S. I had to google your spider because I’m a nerd like that 🙂 It’s a Golden Silk Orb-weaver or Banana Spider. It’s harmless despite how it looks (yikes!) and is considered beneficial in the garden.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I will share this with Butch. I am glad it is beneficial, but I am not a fan of spiders and this one was huge.
Wishing you a most enjoyable Sunday!

Good morning, Pam. I am not crazy about ‘spiders and snakes,’ but I was often greeted by them at our home in Virginia. I love your “happy patch’ and what a perfect name.
My mom won a “Best in Show” award at a state flower show with her arrangement of goldenrod and ironweed. She was really partial to ironweed and it is certainly abundant here in WV.
Precious Ella looks like she must be enjoying school, she will have such fun.
Have a lovely day and week ahead, dear Pam.❤
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear one. Goldenrod and ironweed sounds lovely together, I will remember that combination. Wishing you a lovely Sunday!

The “happy” patch is the perfect name for such a lovely, tranquil spot. Love it! EM must be enjoying pre school as she is all smiles. It’s been rainy and stormy here too since the hurricane. Looking at the travel pictures each week is a wonderful reminder of times past and adventures we all experienced. Now just going to the grocery store without pre ordering on a Saturday is our biggest adventure! Lol The stroll through the lovely flowers was delightful. I don’t care for spiders either and the large garden ones are especially intimidating! They’re generally not poisonous like the small brown recluse. Those really scare me! Have a wonderful week! Clara♥️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Clara, isn’t it funny how just a ride in the car is now exciting. We have had lots of clouds and some rain, even in today’s forecast. Have a wonderful week ♥️

Happy Sunday friends. I agree ironweed should not be a weed. The happy patch is just that…happy! Seeing sweet Ella Mae is always a joy.

Thank you Dianne. Wishing you a lovely week!

No thank you to the spider, they do not scare me as much as snakes do, but still not on my favorite list. I do love EM and she is correct, time to move on to important things like play.
I look forward to your posts, and your word from God.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Blessings sweet Nonie and thank you!

Pam and Butch, I wrote a long comment and the electricity went off just as I hit the send button so I lost the comment. It was a power surge only and came back on but still lost the comment.
I enjoyed the post and was very complimentary.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Bonnie. I totally understand writing a long comment and losing it. Thank you and enjoy your Sunday!

Oh what a lovely Sabbath pause….The happy patch and ironweed. And those bridges are a marvel.
Ella Mae ~ Calculus (check) Astronomy (check) Rocket Science (check) Husbandry (check) Creation (check) OK, I got it … now on to play. That spider wears a lovely raiment and is harmless to boot. Weather here has cleared with intermittent showers, but our sights and prayers turn to those who have experienced the ravaging storms.. A blessed week to all.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Mary. Wishing you a lovely week!

Spiders, not so much but some are lovely! Snakes — well, thanks for not sharing one of those! Your world is beautiful, as always (what a darling dress your little EM has!). I know what you mean about the weather. Ours is gray, gloomy, damp and cold. But we’re not having a hurricane and all is well and safe. My thoughts to those in harm’s way.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Jeanie. Stay well and enjoy your week!

As always your Sundays are filled with beauty and your eye captures it all. I notice the butterfly in the first photo stayed more still than the one I included today. It wouldn’t stop fluttering!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Butterflies are hard to photograph, but fun to try.

Spiders give me the creeps, but it is truly amazing to see the colors and patterns put there by our Creator. He takes care of every, single detail – a good reminder to me tonight about my own life and current struggles. God bless you both!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, He is faithful over every detail!
