Hello sweet friends. Fall, my favorite season, begins one week from today. Before moving onto all things fall, I must properly say goodbye to summer. I think we can all say that the summer of 2020 will be one for the history books!
“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
James 1:19-20

And, like a dream, glides away.”
-Sarah Helen Whitman
The July garden is my favorite when limelight and vanilla strawberry hydrangeas are showing off their best blooms!
Every summer we look forward to happy sunflowers…
…and zinnia time!
Signs of summer…mimosas are blooming…
…gorgeous blue skies with white puffy clouds…
…and roadsides of Queen Anne’s lace!
Summer fun with our girls!!!
Sister love!
Fun times in their Daddy’s Jeep!
What would summer be without garden tablescapes and flowers? Tea and hydrangeas is a favorite!
Who doesn’t love a Patriotic Garden Table?
July is blooming on the table and in the garden!
The heat index was at 101 as I set this heavenly hydrangeas’ table.
With sunflowers, zinnias, and hydrangeas it is a flower arrangement from the summer garden!
Hydrangeas in a box add beauty to a summer tablescape!
With summertime travel next to impossible, we decided to build a small garden cottage instead. We took you along on the journey of, “Is This Really Happening?”
Over the next seven weeks you were able to see the progress!
Finally the Sunshine Cottage was complete!
I will miss summer sunsets!
“To say it was a beautiful day would not begin to explain it. It was that day when the end of summer intersects perfectly with the start of fall.”
-Ann Patchett
I hope you will join me as we pray for those who have been affected by the tragic wildfires and those who are in harms way of Hurricane Sally!
Thank you for your lovely visits and gracious comments! Wishing you a joy-filled day!

Nice walk through memory lane! Beautiful pictures and all your tablescapes were lovely! I am definitely praying that all those wildfires will come to an end. I know several people living in California and Washington that are being affected by them. Sally sounds like a mean hurricane, praying for those southern states. I think we are all anxious for 2020 to come to an end. Let’s pray for a better 2021 🙏🏻
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Liz. Yes, praying for a better 2021!

What a beautiful collection of summer photos from your yard. I had to pin a few, though I have probably already pinned them from the posts. Maybe this lockdown will have a long lasting positive affect on us. Seeing the beauty in our homes and yards. As seniors we missed seeing our kids and then they began working from home so we were able to have some Sundays all together. It certainly has been a year, thanks for all the lovely posts, Sandi
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Sandi. I am so glad you were able to have some time with your family. That is so hard to not be able to be with children and grandchildren.

Pam, your scripture really touched me this morning. It makes me so sad how angry everyone has become, even “friends” on social media are quick to attack the slightest thing. I have a wonderful daily devotional book this year, New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp. Yesterday’s reading was on this very subject. I really feel it is happening because so many people have turned away from God. But enough of my soapbox…your highlights of summer are beautiful. I am looking forward to the fiery sunsets we get in fall and winter. Hope you all stay safe from Sally, the weather gurus are saying we may get 7-11” of rain. Praying for our friend Leslie Anne and everyone down on the coast.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I need to check out that devotional book, I like Paul David Tripp’s writings. We might be under flash flood warnings. Prayers for all!

I enjoyed your recap of summer. The flowers are beautiful and oh my goodness. Those darling grandgirls. I think that youngest one looks like you. I surely am lifting up so many in prayer including those affected by the fires. Seems our prayer plates are full doesn’t it? YES, a summer to remember. Praying that Fall will bring a freshness for us all dear Pam. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Thank you Cindy. I can’t wait for fall to come to NE AL Blessings~

I can almost hear the closing click of the Summertime box of memories and the opening lift of Autumn’s box of promises.
I am gearing up to venture out to obtain my fair share of Chrysanthemums, Pumpkins and garlands of flaming oak leaves…
Just when the last touch is made, we will be alerted to Christmas doings.. too soon. Our Tasha Tudor had the right idea of
moving slowly, doing simply and producing much more in terms of effect. Not a peep of urgency out of her. A wonderful message for our busy preoccupations. What a delight to revisit your Summer of creativity and beauty. The princesses will
long remember, perhaps never forget, the rich surroundings your provided for their growing years. Prayers for all those in
harm’s way of storms and wildfires. May all know His peace and protection.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Mary, I can’t wait to gather pumpkins and mums. Unfortunately, we rush right into Christmas decorating before we enjoy Thanksgiving. Tasha Tudor has the right idea for certain…
Alice Genzlinger says
Oh, mimosas! I love them. Even though this Summer was so different than the past ones, I loved it. My calendar was empty and that gave us more time to work in the garden and it was the best ever, your garden is so beautiful and I thank you for sharing it and the “queens” with us.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, I am so glad you had more time to garden and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Karen (Back Road Journal) says
While this was not the summer any of us would ever have wished for, your beautiful gardens have given us such joy during these difficult times.

Coming here to your precious blog takes me away and for a few moments makes me forget the awful things going on in our world. Those two, adorable girls bring such sunshine to your lives and to all of us here, too, and I could look at your lovely flowers for ours. So thankful for your presence here, and may God bless you both!

Lovely post Pam. I was so disappointed with my limelight’s this year. I didn’t get much bloom from my night blooming jasmine either which is planted directly behind my chimney and the limelight’s are planted in front of the jasmine. I think I need to really give that bed some TLC before next years blooming. I have been thoroughly enjoying seeing pics of yours in bloom though.
Hope you don’t get too much from Hurricane Sally today. We are having heavy thunderstorms right now, 60mph winds, tornado watches up and flash flood warnings. I just heard a limb fall on the roof. The trees are so heavy from all this rain. This too will pass.

Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Carolyn. Gardening was more difficult for us this year, haven’t figured out exactly why.
Sounds like you were hit hard with Sally. We experienced rain most of yesterday and 15-20 mph winds. We were supposed to get 3-5 inches of rain, but that didn’t happen. I hope you didn’t receive any damage.

Magnificent post…You always make me smile!
