Happy Thursday sweet friends. Thank you for the lovely outpouring of birthday wishes for my precious Daddy. I read your comments to him and he was so moved with your kindness!
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
James 3:17-18
The month of October is flying by…can you believe it is half over? The Sunshine Cottage has been dressed for my favorite season and I am so happy to have you join me inside.
Velvet pumpkins with pretty stems…I am partial to the real ones and the porch is overflowing with them. If you missed the Sunshine Cottage Autumn Porch, you can view it here.
Keeping it simple, I added autumn throws and pillows!
My favorite magazines are always on hand to enjoy. I have a hard time throwing them away and keep them to enjoy again and again. Finally, when my stash becomes too large, I send them to hubby’s office and they are quickly picked up for someone else to enjoy!
Spode “woodland” dinner plates, amber colored stemware, and ceramic pumpkins have replaced the blue and white from late summer.
A pair of pilgrims rest on the top shelf on this side of the room!
For a seasonal change, the plaid throw was added to the tabletop. My first trip to TJ Maxx since the pandemic yielded this colorful throw!
The French chair got a fall pillow and throw. This is EM’s chair and she reminds anyone who dares to sit in it. I must tell you that she has thanked me for “helping her decorate” the cottage.
This cute pumpkin pillow was also found on my little excursion to TJ Maxx!
The Vietri pumpkin colored leaf is filled with the smells of autumn potpourri! It smells heavenly when you open the door. A Fitz and Floyd pheasant teapot moved from the house to the cottage.
The early evening light casts a glow on a small velvet pumpkin placed upon a bronze pedestal!
I have to be honest and admit, I am having so much fun decorating the cottage and changing it seasonally. It is really an adult playhouse. Not only are there stacks of dishes behind the curtain, but there are plenty of toys for the Princesses. I stand corrected, they are Queens according to EM.
My comfy chair where I enjoy reading, quiet time, and rocking EK! A pretty orange pillow with gold leaves graces it for a touch of fall!
An older wreath found a home for the season!
A favorite travel memento is this beautiful hand blown glass bowl from Berea, Kentucky!
A few surviving flowers from A Glorious October Afternoon found their way into the bright orange bottle!
“It was a beautiful, bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.”
-Diana Gabaldon
Thank you for your visits and gracious comments. Wishing you a delightful autumn day!

Fall looks lovely in the cottage! It’s almost like a grown up version of a doll house!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, it is. Thank you Penny!

Stunning, Pam! What fun – to be able to go to TJ Maxx (nice finds!), have EM alongside you (thanking you for helping decorate, how cute!), and to be able to use and display all the beautiful items in your inventory (the dishes, the glass, the ceramics, textiles). The Sunshine Cottage is gorgeous. Inquiring minds want to know….how do you reach those shelves, especially the top one? A 3-step stool? I know from personal experience in our booths that when a counter such as yours juts beyond the shelves above, it can be very tricky! I hope EM or better, RM, spots you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Rita. EM is taking to decorating. She has watched me fluff pillows and she does the same. RM has to place things on the top shelves. I am 5’1” on a good day. I would have to be on a six foot ladder to reach. RM can do it from a 3-step stool. As I am getting older, I have noticed balance is a little tricky.

Oh, how fun! The “playhouse” is so cozy and beautiful! EM sounds just darling and full of personality. My granddaughter was lively and funny as a little one too, and she’s lovely as a young lady now. Enjoy every moment! Please tell EM that she’s a wonderful designer. ❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Rebecca. EM has a big personality and I will pass along your compliments!

Oh my goodness Pam, I am smiling from ear to ear! The Sunshine Cottage could not be any more Fall PERFECT! I am loving visualizing you happily decorating and playing with all your beautiful autumn things! The orange bottle of blooms looks wonderful as do all the shelves and tabletops, gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your joy with us! What an incredible place to relax and enjoy, I would never leave!

Pam, what fun you are having in your cottage. It truly is a “playhouse.” You have decorated it beautifully for autumn., I know your head must be spinning thinking of what you will do for Christmas. Along, with being such a fun place for you and the girls, it is also a lovely retreat for you in our weary world.
Happy autumn and I hope the days slow down. ❤
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sandra, I am having fun which is so needed during these trying times. Enjoy your day! ♥️

Pam, The Sunshine Cottage is beautifully decorated for fall. I love your Spode dishes paired with amber glasses. EM will enjoy and have wonderful memories of your designer assistance in the Sunshine Cottage. Her responses are so clever and sweet. The colorful textiles add so much coziness to the room. Great finds! The ceramics are gorgeous, especially the pheasant teapot. Your velvet pumpkins are a favorite. Have a wonderful day sweet friend and hope you stay well and safe during this second wave of Covid19. Clara ♥️🍁

Thank you Clara. I am certainly enjoying the cottage with the girls. Hope you stay well, my friend ♥️

Happy autumn and thank you, Jean!
Heritage Hall says
Truly an enchanted cottage, made more enchanting by the presence and comments of two very special princesses. I hesitate to mention Christmas at the cottage; enjoying Autumn’s crisp hues too much. The appointments on the surfaces are fastidious in choice and I can just about catch the pungent aroma of the fragrant spices you’ve displayed. That comfy chair is tempting,
given the reading matter and atmosphere you furnish. Enjoy every sparkling moment, dear friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Mary, I am glad you noticed the reading matter. I have so enjoyed the devotion book you sent me. Happy Friday my friend!

What a most amazing getaway that is right in your backyard! Your (or is it Em’s) charming, charming cottage certainly is a place for you to play, whether it is with “the Queens” or tweaking your beautiful decor. So much beautiful detail featuring your wonderful treasures of memories. Just adore the shelf stying. What a joy to see your fabulous Sunshine Cottage transform from season to season and occasion to occasion. Enjoy your beautiful space!

I love all of your fall decorations, styling and pumpkins. But I think my fave has to be the pumpkin on the bronze pedestal! So cute! Thank you for linking up at the Friday Farmhouse link party! L 🙂

I had to laugh when you called it an adult playhouse because I was thinking the same thing! It’s beautiful, Pam. I love the throws. I have boatloads of that sort of thing but looking at your post realized I didn’t have one really autumnal one! All your details are lovely. (You also remind me, I need to bring out some of my more autumnal dishes — it’s a short season up here!
I think you have a brand new, rather expensive and quite large “toy” to play with in your cottage and I am eager for every single post showing your remarkable creativity and its charm!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jeanie. I am enjoying every minute in the cottage especially to just read and relax!
Mary says
Beautiful Pam! So much fun to putter and play in your cottage and create some seasonal vignettes! I had to chuckle at EM’s reference to ‘her cottage’. Love your fall touches. ♥

Darlene Gardner says
Pam, I love your Sunshine Cottage! (I am a John Denver fan too, so a perfect name!) I have a question, which you have probably already answered and I just missed it. Was your cottage built from scratch or did you get a premade building that you finished? And, what is the square footage? I have been wanting a she shed for several years and I am curious since yours is so very special. Thanks for the information.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Darlene, I sent you an email.
Michelle says
Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Farmhouse Friday!
