We selected a few of our favorite pics from various Simple Southern Sunday’s of 2020.
“Sunrise, sunset, swiftly fly the years…”
(From Fiddler on the Roof – 1964)
βMay God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.β
ββPsalmβ¬ β67:1-2β¬ β
Many of today’s 2020 reflections are flowers and scenes from warm sunny days, but first…
…a snowy North Carolina day and a picturesque church! We love taking pics of churches but we found it a bit more difficult to do in 2020 as our travel was very limited compared to most years. And we all know why that was the case!
Now, how ’bout something to warm us up and bring on dreams of days to come!
Wisteria is an early bloomer in our area. This was last March.
A reminder of God’s handiwork and His promises!
This field was left unplanted and rested last spring and many beautiful cover varieties popped up. We noticed this same field last week had been cultivated and planted and new growth has appeared. We are guessing winter wheat!
The Japanese quince was a surprise when we found it growing along an old fence row last March. These plants sometimes produce a few blooms in February. We can now say February is “next month”!
If you have followed simple southern Sunday you are aware that most Sundays had Princess (now self-proclaimed Queen) Ella Mae…
…and Princess Emma Kennedy somewhere in the post. I have considered starting a support group to help those of you who don’t have grandchildren, and call it, Indulge Grandparents Anonymous!
Princess EK turned 1 in 2020!
Not the “last supper” but I do think this was the last breakfast we ate out in 2020… and this was February!
Limelights speak loudly of summer!
Zinnias are one of our favorites. Easy to grow and give so many months of continual color.
One of our more unusual visitors in 2020!
I will personally be “glad” when summer arrives again. Yes, I know what you are thinking; let’s don’t rush things. And you are correct. There is beauty in all seasons!
Our riverfront at Coosa Landing provides some nice scenes and pleasant walks (or jogs) in all seasons.
The sunflowers giving it up…
…making way for the soon to come color of autumn.
A nice sunset over calm water can bring some peaceful thoughts and hopeful moments which have been much needed in 2020!
The Sunshine Cottage, seen in the background, was a new addition to the garden this past year.
A winter sunset. Sunrises and sunsets are favorites for Sunday posts!
We are very grateful for each of you, your support, and your encouragement to us in our everyday living!
Wishing you all a Happy and Blessed 2021

Oh His wonders to behold, especially Queen Ella and Princess Emma on Sundays. May we see
a brighter, more gentle year in 2021 and be transformed by the overcoming of trials and the
strengthening of trust and faith in 2020. Bless you Pam and Butch for your pronounced sensitivity in discerning verses and images that speak to and comfort one’s soul. That rainbow of promise is a profound reminder. A blessed New Year to all.

I love your beautiful pictures. I must tell you that I think “Queen Ella” is the most beautiful child I have ever seen. Every time you post her picture it just takes my breath away…..and I had 4 babies and 5 grands and 1 great! But she is just stunning. Have they ever thought of her modeling? She would be perfect for so many commercials. Just had to tell you that! love your blog. I lived in north AL for a year near there and these pics give me happy memories for sure. Thanks for sharing them.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Helen, you are so sweet and kind with your comments. EM has a sweet little personality and a big heart. She loves her little sister and is excited about a baby brother coming in May. She is definitely enjoying 4K and loves learning.
I so appreciate you following the blog. I must ask where did you live in AL?
Wishing you a wonderful and blessed New Year!
Helen Glover says
Pam we lived near Collinsville which is near Fort Payne for a year on our daughter’s farm. My husband had retired and worked there with them for a while. I loved it there! so beautiful. I had a good friend in Gadsden that I learned how to quilt with. We still keep in touch. We kept our house in the southwest corner of Georgia and decided after a year to move back here as our roots were so deep here and it kept calling us back. I love that area and always love to see what you post from there. Your pictures are great and your family posts are always interesting. Thanks for sharing your life, faith and family with us. Regards, Helen

My dear friend, with a little delay I am writing these comments for your beautiful publication.
As always I do not stop commenting on the beauty of your photos. They are wonderful…
The rainbow is showing off as my computer’s wallpaper … that photo is super beautiful !!
And what about the beautiful girls who are really beautiful …
Everything you show is really beautiful.
I hope you had a happy and loving Christmas season. We still have the Three Kings Day … The gifts … the emotion … The madness !!!
I keep improving, I already write with both hands on the PC … I’m improving little by little. Today I begin the recovery of my movements with the Physiotherapist. As you can see … everything comes and everything goes … That’s life.
With love

Such beautiful scenes of God’s handiwork all around you! He is ever faithful in all seasons. Even the troubled one we are in right now. In the video I sent out last night to our subscribers, I was talking about how I want to be faithful to HIM. Can you imagine if we were as faithful to God as He is to us? Great is His faithfulness, and His compassions fall not – no matter what is going on in this evil world.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear friend. I trust in God and His sovereignty!
