Hello sweet friends! I hope you enjoyed a nice weekend and that it is continuing today with the Martin Luther King holiday. The third Monday of the month always means it is Monday Morning Blooms with my lovely blogging friends. Raise your hand if you could use a little flower therapy!
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Psalm 73:26
Last week was a mixed bag of weather…one sunny day and the rest were gray skies, rain, and cold temperatures. I decided a cheerful table and flowers were in order!
January doesn’t provide the best of flowers. Making a quick run to the grocery store and seeing there wasn’t much to choose from, I did manage to come home with some flowers that would qualify as cheerful.
The links for Mary and Shirley are at the bottom of this post. Lidy is unable to be with us today but will return on February 1st.
As you can see, this is a little different from my usual flower arrangements. I used a favorite vintage tole tray to corral four mini vases and a peacock tiered stand. My run to the grocery store didn’t provide many flower choices. What I had planned was not going to work! Carnations in a soft peach and green, creamy white roses, and alstroemeria were what I had to work with. Then the light came on, “Artesian Road” dinnerware by Tracy Porter would work well with the flowers and happens to be one of my favorite patterns.
Dinner and salad plates, mini vases, and the peacock tiered stand are all by Tracy Porter and are discontinued. Rattan chargers, acrylic tortoise flatware, quilted placemats and napkins add to my cheerful table!
RM had bought a bag of apples that I knew would work on the tiered stand. When I opened the bag, the apples were soft and terribly bruised. So now what do I do? Faux apples to the rescue! It is ok, right?
Sweet napkin rings from a trip to Fairhope, AL several years ago. Have you ever visited this charming Southern town?
This is an easy centerpiece to make using what you might have on hand…a flat basket with a bowl of mixed fruit for the center and a couple of pint mason jars filled with flowers or herbs. I cut a few sprigs of rosemary to tuck in the vases to use as a filler and to enjoy the lovely fragrance!
Two more mini vases flank the tray. If actual guests were seated at the table, I would remove the peacock tiered stand and use a bowl for the fruit.
Be sure to visit Mary and Shirley for beautiful floral inspiration.

Pam, Your table is so inviting, fresh and colorful with your centerpiece of apples, blooms and your peach Tracy Porter dinnerware! I love the additional blooms provided by your toile tray and pretty dish stack framed with your scalloped placemats. Your mix of patterns is wonderful! Finding flowers this time of year is a challenge without a Trader Joe’s nearby and I love the sweet mini vases you created. So happy to be joining for some flower therapy on this cold winter day. Stay warm ♥

I always look forward to your cheerful tables whether they are in your gorgeous dining room or in the beautiful areas of your gardens..and now the Sunshine Cottage. You may feel your trip for flowers was less than imagined, but your imagination worked perfectly to pair these gorgeous colors with your Tracy Porter service, Pam! Oh, I love those peachy tones with blues and greens, grounded with the natural woods. These are colors I like to wear, so I am naturally drawn to them, and they make it feel so alive and spring-like. Your cheerful table and centerpiece are definite pluses for this gray time in winter. Happy Monday!

Yes, Pam we do need some cheer! You have delighted us with your challenges with a flower supply and you solved that beautifully. It is so rewarding when your frustrations turn into creative ideas! I love your Tracy Porter items. They are cheerful and so artistic. The reticulated toile tray with flowers was a perfect accent to corral your small vases of flowers and tiered tray.
Thanks for your uplifting scriptures and artistic beauty today.
The sunlight streaming in adds to the cheerful ambiance.

I absolutely love this, Pam! Your stand takes my breath away, the colors are divine. And then the Tracy Porter pieces, such great colors, she is a favorite of mine. : ) Little containers are always such a sweet idea, because anyone can do them, even if there is only one flower to put in them! Thank you for always inspiring with your beauty and your heart. I missed you, my flower friends, this Monday. Be back next time! xo Lidy
