Happy cold and wintry Monday! I know much of the country has been impacted by snow, ice, and bitter cold. Last week we had a couple of warm days before the cold hit us. We haven’t seen the sunshine in quite a while and brrr…it’s cold!
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”
Proverbs 12:25
Come in from the cold and welcome to the Sunshine Cottage where it is warm and cozy. I am serving up a fabulous blend of Valentine coffee with notes of cherry and dark chocolate to warm you. Help yourself to a warm blueberry muffin fresh from the oven. It is the third Monday of the month which means a new edition of Monday Morning Blooms with my blogging friends! I am so glad you are here to visit.
Raise your hand if you can use a dose of winter flower therapy with a little nod to spring!
Our sweet Shirley from Housepitality Designs was unable to join us, but we are excited to have a guest “bloomer” today! Welcome Sarah from Hyacinths For The Soul to Monday Morning Blooms!
All the links for beautiful floral inspiration are at the bottom of this post.
Last week the grocery stores were full of red and pink flowers, but I was on a mission to find flowers that would make me think of springtime! I was so relieved when I saw pink and white tulips. They are available most of the year, but I particularly think of them as a spring flower. At least that is when they pop up in gardens. Joining the tulips are spray roses, mums, alstroemeria, and eucalyptus.
I have a large collection of garden and flower books! It just seems proper that a flower arrangement should sit on one them! Margot Shaw is the founder and editor-in-chief of Flower Magazine and is a Birmingham native. If you love flowers, you might want to add “Living Floral” to your collection.
A pair of sweet spring figurines join the flowers and blueberry muffins!
“Happiness held is the seed; Happiness shared is the flower.”
-John Harrigan
The green urn on the green wicker chair makes me think of the greens of spring, so many varying shades when the trees begin to bud!
“Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart.”
-Victor Hugo
Have you noticed the flowers are moving around inside the cottage?
Adding to the vignette are floral plates and a floral vintage tole tray!

Pam, Your sunshine cottage offers such a cheery and welcome respite from our dreary, cold weather. We haven’t had the ice and snow a lot of folks are getting but if raindrops were snowflakes it would take us weeks to dig our way out! Love seeing your pretty bouquet moving around the cottage and framed with your pretty green wicker chair and the backdrop of dishes in the background. Thank you for the beauty this morning…it’s always a treat to join you for some flower therapy. Stay warm. ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Mary, you are always so encouraging. Hopefully we are finished with the rain for a couple of days, but tomorrow is supposed to be really cold. Stay warm♥️
Maristella says
Oh my! Such beauty…Breathtaking and inspiring! Made me smile! Thank you, dear Pam!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you sweet Maristella. Blessings and hugs!
Bonnie Morgan says
I am raising my hand! I definitely need some flower therapy. It has rained and rained and it is cold but thankfully we will see the sun tomorrow.
Pam, how delightful your post is today. I love your nod to spring and how cleverly you moved your arrangement around the Sunshine Cottage. I love each vignette. It would be hard to pick a favorite. As I scrolled I enjoyed each one. They all have personality.
I must check out “Living Floral” by Margot Shaw.
Hope you get some snow but no ice!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Bonnie. It has been a cold and rainy day in NE AL today. I don’t think we will see the sun tomorrow. Do you subscribe to Flower Magazine, it is a beautiful publication! Have a great week!
Roxanne Bernard says
Happy Monday, Pam! What a much needed dose of springtime anticipation! I love your green urn and enjoyed seeing all the glimpses of Sunshine Cottage. Although we are supposed to get another 4” of rain this week, we are spared the ice and snow others are experiencing. No power in this cold, I can’t even imagine. Heading for my MRI on my spine at 1:00 today, everyone’s prayers are much appreciated.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Good morning, Roxanne. Pouring rain this morning, but no ice or freezing rain so far. I am praying for you and the MRI, please keep me posted ♥️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I have been praying for you Roxanne. I hope the MRI went well. Blessings~
Nancy Sharp says
I love how you moved the arrangement around to different places. We see different places in your sweet cottage and shows us we don’t have to leave our arrangements in one spot. Share it wherever your going to be!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Nancy. I agree why not move it around to enjoy in different places. Wishing you a wonderful week!
the Painted Apron says
You have captured Spring in a vase Pam, love the soft pinks and greens and the flowers you chose for your beautiful arrangement! I enjoyed all the vignettes you created moving the vase around, and especially love it sitting on the floral book, so pretty! I was playing with Spring things yesterday to brighten up this freezing dreary weather! Thank you for this cheerful dose of Spring and sunshine!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jenna. It is going to be a cold night and tomorrow will stay below freezing. Stay inside and warm!
Dianne Sharpe says
Pam, I think we are all in need of this spring therapy. Your Sunshine Cottage offers a wonderful place to spotlight your beautiful floral arrangement. The spring figurines are beautiful with this arrangement. Many days of rain and cloudy skies in Asheville. Trying to keep “spring” in my heart. Beautiful post precious friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Dianne for your gracious comments. I hope you aren’t experiencing bad weather. Wishing you a wonderful week my friend!
Ruthie Miller says
Every one of your pictures is a treat and a treasure. Every location is perfect and the things you pair your beautiful arrangement with is perfect as can be. I couldn’t even pick a favorite if I had to. That green vessel really is the right size, shape and color to show off your arrangement. I am always on the hunt for different vases and containers to put my flowers in. One size doesn’t fit all-it has to be just right.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Ruthie, thank you for your sweet comments. I am also always on the lookout for unique vases and containers. I haven’t been able to do as much of that with the pandemic. Wishing you a great week!
Rita C. says
I am raising BOTH hands to the glorious hope of spring in your beautiful bouquet, Pam! We are currently under an ice storm, very deceptive if you only look out a window. Driving conditions are horrible, even dogs can’t stand up on the ice, let alone people (my daughter fell on her driveway just attempting to get into her vehicle for work). These blooms are the perfect medicine for this string of yukky days we’re having right now. Thank you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Oh, Rita it sounds like you have had enough of old man winter. I can’t imagine dealing with ice and snow on a regular basis. I feel for all those in Texas with rolling power outages and many other states dealing with horrible conditions. Stay safe and warm dear friend!
Sarah says
Pam, count me in! I’m ready for the Sunshine Cottage as we woke to gray skies and 8″ of snow. Our single digit temps are not what this Texan is familiar with! I’ll happily join you for some valentine blend coffee and a blueberry muffin.
Your pink and white tulips make my heart sing! I love the way tulips dance about from day to day and seeing your flowers move about your home reminds me of a dance of the flowers. Everything is beautiful and charming.
Pam, thank you for inviting me to join in today. What an honor!!!
Have a great week ahead. I think I’m going to sit by the fire all day dreaming of spring flowers!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Sarah for your gracious comments. It was our pleasure to have you as our “guest bloomer” today. Your creations were stunning. Stay warm by the fire and I hope you don’t lose power!
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Pam, your gorgeous bouquet has me dreaming of spring! It can’t get here fast enough! I always love a visit to Sunshine Cottage, and that flavored coffee with warm muffins sounds delicious. As I look around the cottage, I see so many pretties. Happy Monday, dear friend! Enjoy your day!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Shannon. I hope you haven’t lost power. Stay safe sweet friend!
Clara says
What a breath of spring Pam! The bouquet is so lush and the colors are stunning. I love green and pink tones together. The green vase is the perfect vessel. The coffee sounds tasty and the muffins look yummy! The Sunshine Cottage is so cozy and welcoming. Enjoy your week! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Clara. How much snow did you receive? Stay safe and warm my friend ♥️
Clara says
So far 7 inches with sleet too which is a lot for our area. It’s so dry you can’t build a snowman per the news. It’s 3 degrees here so I haven’t been out since Sunday. The grocery stores and bus system closed last evening which is most unusual. It’s brutal outside for this southern girl! Thankfully, we still have heat. Stay warm sweet friend! Clara ❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Oh my, stay safe sweet friend❤️
We have a dusting of snow and black ice so schools are closed!
marmeladegypsy says
I think you nailed springtime! I just got in from shoveling snow and five inches more expected overnight! Spring is on my mind!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jeanie, you be careful with your back out shoveling snow!
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
As always, Pam, your arrangement is beautiful. Your green vase is so pretty, I have a yellow one that is identical. I must fill it with blooms this spring. And yes, I am so ready for spring – we have ice this morning and snow on the way. So the words Sunshine Cottage lifts my heart. Wishing you a lovely week, dear one.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Oh, I know the yellow vase is pretty. Stay safe sweet friend!

This is why I love living in FL in the winter. My lemon tree is blooming and my white hibiscus is going crazy. My gardenia is also budding out. Short days call for as much light and flowers you can get. Y’all stay warm and safe in that storm – I will be thinking about everyone in its path. I am grateful my trip home to KY was the first week of Feb. not the third week!!! Keep the Sunshine Cottage articles coming!!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Your garden sounds so lovely. Thank you for commenting!

Oh yes Pam I do surely need some flower therapy and some Vit D. The weather has been rainy, and gloomy here. Your florals are always so very pretty. I wish I had your green thumb.I am really beginning to feel myself want to get outside and dig around in dirt. Mountain trip planned next week but after that….I will be wanting the beach! Thanks for praying for me and checking on me. You are so precious. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you sweet Cindy. Enjoy your mountain trip and rest and relax!

It’s a joy to join you on our Monday Morning Blooms. xo Lidy

Everything is such a spring breath of fresh air! And when it’s all in your Sunshine Cottage… it makes me smile!
The lovely dishes and green chair are lovely spots to see your vase full of lovely spring flowers!
We are doing okay in the weather department. We had 68 degrees today here in the Sonoran desert of Arizona.
Happy Monday my friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Nancy. Your weather sounds so lovely. We have had days of rain and cold weather, but compared to our other Southern states, I am not complaining. Have a wonderful evening!

I so enjoy taking a peek at the beautiful things that adorn the cottage. A wonderful Monday Morning Blooms Day!

Thank you Shirley. I am enjoying playing in my adult playhouse!
Alice Genzlinger says
Would love nothing more than to sit at your table in the cottage and have a cup of the valentines coffee. Where did you purchase it?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Hi Alice, I hope you are staying warm. The coffee is roasted by O’Henry’s in Birmingham. I also love their Snickerdoodle. A local shop in Gadsden sells it, so I don’t have to drive to Birmingham. You can order from the store in Birmingham and they will ship it. Their coffees are outstanding!
Alice Genzlinger says
Thanks Pam. I will give it a whirl.
Cheryl says
