Hello sweet friends. We are already half way through the month of March and can you believe that spring will arrive in five days?! The seasons seem to pass so quickly, but I am excited to welcome spring!
“He is not here, but has risen.”
Luke 24:6a
Last week we experienced beautiful spring weather with cool nights and several frosty mornings. But our days warmed into the seventies which was perfect for setting the picnic table for an Easter edition of Monday Morning Blooms with my blogging friends!
“Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.
~Martin Luther
You will find the links for beautiful flower inspiration at the bottom of this post.
We are excited to welcome our guest “bloomer” to Monday Morning Blooms. I know you will enjoy Kelly from My Soulful Home. She has a popular podcast, YouTube channel, and has also written a lovely book, My Soulful Home ~ A Year in Flowers.
Bright yellow blooms always make me smile!
Longtime readers know that we enjoy living in the country. We have a picnic area, next to a wooded site, that provides shade for the summer and it also provides a view of the Foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain. With warm temperatures and the promise of spring’s arrival, setting the picnic table was ideal for thoughts of Easter. The bright green grass is winter rye that my Renaissance Man plants every fall and it offers a lovely background.
With Easter approaching, I unpacked my chalk eggs that are at least twenty years old and displayed them in sweet little egg cups.
Tulips and Easter go together! As you may notice, there aren’t any in this arrangement. I checked every grocery store and even called my favorite florist and he said he had not been able to get them. What does a girl do who is waiting for her garden to come to life? You make do with what is available. A creamy white pitcher is filled with lavender spider mums, bright yellow Gerbera daisies, white button mums, and yellow daffodils that were planted years ago by the beautiful lady that previously owned the farm. She was a fabulous gardener and we are still the recipients of her beautiful blooms!
I keep proclaiming I will not buy any more dishes. But, when I saw a set of four hand-painted and signed Crown Ducal floral plates, I knew that I wanted to add them to my ever growing collection. The plates depict camellias (as shown above), poppies, chrysanthemums, and hydrangeas. The beautiful pink border accents each plate’s flowers. You will be seeing these often and I will spotlight each plate in a future post. American Atelier “Baroque” chargers and dinner plates support the beautiful floral plates. For a little interest, I added moss on the sides of the chargers.
Moss bunnies moved from the Sunshine Cottage to the picnic table!
April Cornell’s cottage rose tablecloth provides more floral abundance to enjoy. Yellow napkins, copper flatware, and “Reverie” iced beverage glasses by Noritake round out each place setting. Very soon the Rose of Sharon trees will begin to leaf out as winter turns into glorious spring and all of this backdrop will change to green!
A somewhat different view looking down on the table from the stairs of RM’s workshop! He recently added a coat of protection to the table which will quickly fade as it ages just a bit!
“Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness.”
~Floyd W. Tomkins

Swoon Pam! I can see why you couldn’t resist those gorgeous Crown Ducal floral plates! They’re perfectly paired with your beautiful AC tablecloth for a little alfresco dining! I actually gasped when I saw the fresh green background of your rye grass…so beautiful with your sweet moss bunnies and what a welcome sight after the grays and browns of winter. The weather has been glorious here too the past week. As always it’s a treat to join you for some flower therapy on these Mondays. Looking forward to hopping with you tomorrow too. ♥
Thanks so much Mary. I will see you bright and early in the morning ♥️
Such an idyllic setting for your welcome to spring in the country. I love your April Cornell cloth, moss bunnies, and those gorgeous new plates! The winter rye grass is a beautiful back drop for your charming and serene table.
Your stunning floral arrangement looks good from every angle and the beautiful colors are perfect to lift our spirits for springtime.
Have a beautiful week. Ive enjoyed my visit.
Thanks Bonnie for your gracious comments as always. Looking forward to hopping with you tomorrow!
Lovely choice in your newest plate additions, Pam! And I really love the Reverie glassware. Your choice of florals still makes the table sing even though it wasn’t your first preference for variety! And that view from Butch’s workshop stairs? My favorite photo in this post! It made the bunnies somehow come to life, as if they came straight out the woods and found your table!
Thank you Rita. I almost didn’t include that photo and Butch said it was his favorite, so I did.
Like you I will pick up random dishes that I just really want and cans on the table. Lovely table and florals this morning.
Thanks so much Linda!
Pam, I am swooning over the camellia plates! What a find, they are beautiful. This has been my most prolific year for camellia japonica blooms…there are arrangements tucked all over the house. The view of the Appalachians from your picnic table is breath taking. You must never tire of seeing that. Your table setting is perfect for welcoming Spring.
I have seen more blooms on camellias than ever before. It has been a good year for them. Thank you so much Roxanne.
Oh how pretty, I’d have a hard time resisting those plates too. Love your mossy bunnies.
Thanks so much Carole!
I love your Easter table setting and blooms!
Thanks so much, Penny!
Good morning, Pam! This table and your flowers is absolutely gorgeous! Your accompanying outdoor view is stunning. I can see why you had to have those pretty plates. I’ve made the same promise you have about dishes, but I still manage to break it. I guess it is my weakness. Every cabinet and closet is occupied by my dish collections. Happy Monday, sweet friend! Enjoy your day!
Thank you Shannon. I am afraid I give in to the dish temptation! Looking forward to hopping with you tomorrow!
What a beautiful welcome to Spring set against your beautiful background. Your new plates are perfect. You could not pass on these. I love your bunnies..perfect with the background and AC cloth is amazing. Your words are always a balm to my soul.
Dianne, you are so sweet with your encouraging comments. Wishing you a lovely week!
Pam, your table is beautiful and being in your beautiful outdoors is perfect for Easter and spring time. Your new plates were certainly a find and I love the shape and color of your glasses. Spring comes slowly here in the Hills, but we are seeing warmer days, blue skies and daffodils. So we can’t complain
Have a lovely day and week, my friend.
Thank you Sandra. I know you are enjoying your beautiful daffodils. Wishing you a delightful week!
Stunning, Pam, as always! I love the colors that you chose – they scream Spring. I have a soft spot in my heart for bunnies. I keep mine around all year. Have a wonderful week and thank you for my daily dose of eye candy.
Katie, you are so sweet and thank you for your visit!
Pam, Your picnic table setting is perfect for admiring the countryside. Your plates are so delicate and pretty. Love them! Your floral arrangement has such lovely Spring colors. The AC tablecloth is a favorite as are those gorgeous glasses! A seat at your picnic table would be relaxing and a very enjoyable experience indeed. Enjoy your day! Clara ❤️
Thank you Clara. No outdoor tables this week, we have lots of rain with possible severe weather on Wednesday.
Pam – you could not pass up those dishes! They are beautiful, as is your whole table design. Each element is lovely & the country setting divine. Thank you so much for including me in Monday Morning Blooms!
Thank you Kelly and it was a pleasure having you join us with your expertise and inspiration!
Thank you for the Martin Luther quote. And the beautiful Spring table setting.
Thank you Alice. I guess you are digging out from the snow.
27 inches of snow was the results of the storm. Heavy wet snow brought down some Tree branches. We were snowed in until a neighbor brought his new big snow blower and cleaned the drive way. Thank goodness.
Oh my, Alice. I am so glad you are safe. Take care my friend♥️
Happy Monday Morning Blooms Pam! Can you hear my “sighs” of taking in that gorgeous view with the sweetest of sweet table in the garden. You have the most incredible collection of beautiful April Cornell linens. This table is truly a most beautiful way to welcome Spring and celebrate Easter. I look forward to seeing your gorgeous Spring garden. Looking forward to MMB again! Have a beautiful week Pam!!
Thanks so much Shirley. We are looking forward to you being back with us!
The table just sings Spring, Pam. So glad you were unable to resist the dishes…just look at the “match”..The Lord’s outdoor setting is breathtaking and RM is a consummate provider of garden backdrop . I imagine most of us take childlike delight in the moss bunnies and colored eggs. The Tomkins quote just fits the lifting of Winter’s pall and the longed for arrival of Springtime. As always, you beautifully share and inspire.
RM works so hard and never stops. Mary, I confess I have a problem 🤣 Have a wonderful week!
Pam what a beautiful post. The flowers are a bright and welcome sign of Spring. Of course who can resist those adorable rabbits? HAPPY ST.PATRICK’S DAY
Marilyn,Joan and Marion
Thanks so much Marilyn, Joan, and Marion. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all!
How wonderful to set an outdoor table. And that arrangement doesn’t need tulips, lovely as they are (a fave of mine). It’s gorgeous, just the way it is. It’s a perfect Eastery table!
Thanks so much Jeanie. Wishing you a lovely week!
Your table is stunning as usual Pam. I have always liked it when you “set” the picnic table as the view is so relaxing. Your choice of flowers show your talents of flower arranging, of which I am envious. No matter how I arrange my flowers, they look as if I have just “plopped” them in a vase. Spring is definitely emerging in your neck of the woods. Your salad plates are lovely, the pattern carries out your floral theme. I have way to many dishes but I will still add more if I see something too beautiful to pass up. All in all, just perfect dear friend.
Kari
Kari, thank you sweet friend for your gracious comments. Look forward to hopping with you tomorrow!
Pam, what a fresh and inviting table you have set on your picnic table! Your flowers are beautiful, especially when joined by that darling moss bunny. Your table is truly a most stunning way to welcome Spring and celebrate Easter – all those flowers just praise the Lord and Spring!
Thank you Lidy for your sweet and encouraging comments.
Such a delightful setting Pam & that view of the foothills would keep me lingering with a cuppa in hand! 😉
Bless you sweet friend,
Jennifer
Thanks so much Jennifer. Blessings on your week sweet friend!
Thank you 😀
So beautiful Pam! The green grass is glorious and the outdoor setting is stunning, wonderful food for our winter weary souls! I am so sorry about the tulips, Trader Joe’s must have gotten them all, but daffodils always sing Spring and are the perfect addition to your arrangement. The eggs are beautiful and the plates, wow, I can see why you had to have them…I am trying not to buy another thing, but it’s awfully challenging 😂 I love your sweet moss bunnies and the pretty bright cloth. I just we are in for a lot of blooms soon with all the rain this week! 💐
Jenna
Aw, it’s nice to know Shirley will be back soon! And it was nice to meet Kelly. Will she stay on when Shirley returns? I hope so! God bless all of you ladies for all you do to bring joy to your readers.
Thank you sweet Cheryl. We are having guest bloggers in Shirley’s absence.
The flowers you used actually work SUPER with the design on the plates and tablecloth, so maybe it was meant to be! This is beautiful! And it makes me long for the gentle warmth of Spring. At least we have sunshine here now the last couple of days. That view of the mountain range is just majestic!!!!!!!!
Such a delight for the eyes. it’s so refreshing to see an alfresco table. the tablecloth is gorgeous. From the pretty flowers to those lovely plates. I especially love your Reverie glassware. A beautiful spring time table.
Thank you Linda for your sweet comments! Wishing you a lovely week!
