Happy Thursday sweet friends! Thank you for all the sweet comments and emails about Peter Rabbit’s visit to the Sunshine Cottage. I think it brought out the child in all of us…and that is a good thing!
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Ella Mae was all excited to help me decorate the Sunshine Cottage for Easter! I hope you enjoy your visit because EM is so proud of her work!
Naughty Peter hopped up to check out my Daddy’s old typewriter and decided it would be a nice spot to sit for a spell!
My precious daughter-in-love is crafty and loves doing projects with the girls. She helped the girls paint this cute flower pot for me, which was perfect for an Easter egg tree that Ella Mae decorated!
EM said we must have an Easter basket in the cottage…she put this together all by herself! She has strong decorating opinions and when she places an object, she says, “Don’t move it, PJ.”
My chair, that sometimes holds both girls and me, is a sweet place to read and snuggle!
The sun was in and out on the day I took photos. I love the way the sun danced on the vintage rabbit pedestal!
Hershey’s milk chocolate M&M’s eggs won’t last until Easter! I might be sneaking a few!
According to Ella Mae, and I wholeheartedly agree, this is the most special piece in the cottage…the cross! She wanted it placed where it would be seen. RM cut flowering redbud branches for the blue and white vase.
On the left hand shelves are Peter Rabbit salad plates, chartreuse dinner plates, and moss bunnies!
The right hand shelves hold the Pottery Barn Pasture Bunny plates, Johnson Brothers “Winchester” square salad plates, Royal Stafford “Asiatic Pheasant” transferware, and a pair of Fitz and Floyd bunnies!
This sweet bunny was given to me by a precious granddaughter of a long-time friend. She moved to Sweden many years ago and it is a beautiful remembrance of her time in the States!
If you look closely on the side of the flower pot, you see Emma’s footprints made to resemble a butterfly. EM’s are on the other side.
I couldn’t resist buying the hugging bunnies. Ella Mae said it was her and Emma…so sweet!
An Easter egg table runner softens the butcher block counter!
Late afternoon light and shadows! We had a sweet time with eggs, bunnies, candy and rabbit stories. But more important was the precious opportunity to continue celebrating the real truth of Easter with the girls…Jesus and His resurrection!
Thank you for your visits and gracious comments! Have a wonder-filled day!

Your cottage is sublime! Love EM’s strong opinions (and apparent talents!). Where in the world did you find TWO of those majolica bunny pedestals??! I did not know you had those! Beautiful spring decor, all of it.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Rita. I have had the majolica bunny pedestals for over twenty years. Bought them from an antiques dealer…they stay on my mantel most of the time!
Clara says
Pam, Ella Mae has style! The Sunshine Cottage is beautifully decorated. I especially like the cross in a prominent place. Your majolica bunnies are gorgeous! The basket of eggs are close enough to Peter Rabbit so he can hop down and hide them. Your shelves have so many pretty goodies on them that are a feast for the eyes. Love the pillow on your chair. The Easter egg tree is so cute with the hand decorated pot. How clever to make butterflies with the girls feet. Stay safe today sweet friend. The thunder is booming here! Clara ❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Clara. We are safe with no damage. The five people who lost their lives were only fifteen miles from where we live, our next door county to our southeast. So many horrifying tornadoes and destroyed homes. Stay safe, sweet friend. I saw where you may have storms this weekend🙏🏻
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Good morning, Pam. Your cottage is just the perfect Easter retreat, such a dear spot for you and your girls. I wonder where Ella Mae got her decorating skills? She did an outstanding job with her Easter basket and the placement of it. The cottage looks so happy dressed in her Easter finest. Wishing you and your family a beautiful spring.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Sandra. The cottage has provided a perfect place for the girls to play!
Mary says
Pam, I had to chuckle at “Don’t move it, PJ.” How sweet and fun for all that she wants to have a hand at decorating your Sunshine Cottage. Love all your bunnies and adorable Easter touches. Stay safe with storms rumbling your way ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Mary. Yesterday was stressful to say the least. The five people who lost their lives were in the county next door, only fifteen miles from us. So many homes destroyed and the pictures are horrific.

HE IS RISEN! The cross is why we can have peace while everything around us is in turmoil. The redbud in the blue vase is beautiful. I will definitely cut flowering branches if we get blooms this Spring. The vase your DIL painted is precious. Yes I saw the footprints. It moves my heart. I also have the bunny pedestal that I am using on the breakfast table. It is large and much loved. EllaMae is following in your footsteps and already shows her ability to construct a lovely setting.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
He is risen!! Thank you Alice, I just know the bunny pedestal is lovely on your breakfast table.
Again thanks for your love and concern ♥️

Oh Pam, this is simply wonderful. It speaks of love…love of Christ, love of family, loving of reading just for starters. Sunshine Cottage is magical all decked out for Easter. It speaks volumes that Ella Mae recognizes the true meaning of Easter. She is welcome to come here anytime and help me accessorize! EM got a double dose of the decorative gene from her mother and her PJ. The butterfly footprints are so clever!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Roxanne and for checking on us, my friend ♥️

This is just the cutest room. Oh, Pam, I love every little detail (that flower pot is clever and perfect for the tree). Of course I’m wild about the bunnies but also the eggs and the wonderful colors. But what I really love most is the fact that this was a joint project with you and Ella Mae. I love that she’s a persnickity decorator (don’t move this!) — her basket is darling! And that she saw the hugging bunnies as she with her sister. The colors are wonderful and I am simply enchanted. Biggest smiles here!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jeanie. Your sweet comments warm my heart! Happy Friday ~

Dearest Pam and Ella Mae…what joy this Sunshine Easter has brought to me. Ella Mae, your basket is perfect! It may be my very favorite thing. Each spot is beautifully decorated with special Easter pieces collected over the years. Love the footprints that turned into butterflies. The cross is central to everything you do. Thank you for that and thank you for sharing such loveliness.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Dianne. Wishing you a lovely Friday!

Nancy, it was a stressful day of tornadoes. The five who lost their lives were only about 15 miles from us in our neighboring county. The sun is out and it is a beautiful day. But, so many lost their homes 🙏🏻
Nancy says
I am so sad to hear. I thank God you all are okay.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, praise God!
Heritage Hall says
Ella Mae, dearest, you deserve applause for your Easter decorating… that basket is perfect… and I admire your knowing just
what you want and the way you want it. PJ must be so proud of you. The Sunshine Cottage, Pam, is bedecked with so many
lovely appointments, but the most endearing is the Cross being given center stage … the very heart of the cottage and the
lives lived there. We had some thunder this morning, but the skies have brightened and I hope yours have, as well. Thank
you for this Easter invitation…. it filled my heart.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Mary for your heart warming comments.
Yesterday was extremely stressful with constant tornado warnings. The fives lives that were lost lived about 15 miles from us in a neighboring county. The devastating tornadoes caused horrific loss of homes and suffering for so many families 🙏🏻
Heritage Hall says
Prayers for peace and recovery for all in that devastated community. Despite the stress, we praise that your dear homestead was spared.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, thank you and Praise the Lord!

Sweet Pam and Miss Ella Mae, you both have done a most beautiful job of decorating Sunshine Cottage for Easter. I love the beautiful Easter cross and precious Easter basket that you have displayed. Also, the Easter tree is so adorable, and the way you have styled the shelves is so pretty. I so enjoyed my visit to Sunshine Cottage. It belongs in a magazine! Happy Spring to you both!!!

Such a beautiful post! That is so funny how she tells you not to move things once she has placed them where she wants them! How adorable! Everything looks so welcome and inviting and colorful, and I just love how the light streams in through the windows. I am going to pin at least one of your photos to my board where I place these types of photos – they always remind me of my sweet Mom. God bless you and your family!

Pam, terrible damage in Alabama. Praying you and your family were not touched.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you my friend. We are ok! The tornado that hit Calhoun County is next door to Etowah where we live. There were five people killed in that county which is about fifteen miles from us. The photos are horrific!
Thanks so much for your concern, please pray for all those families who lost everything and for those who lost family!

Oh Pam, I know you had a ball with EM decorating the Sunshine Cottage for Easter, isn’t it fun to have a helper! Everything looks adorable, from the special painted pot holding the Easter egg tree, the beautiful cloth covered table displaying the cross, and the hugging bunnies EM said were here and EK, so adorable! I love the moss bunnies perched between your pretties on the shelves and of course, naughty Peter perched on the typewriter, such fun!! I’m so glad you are safe today and the storms have passed. Prayers for our beautiful Alabama 🙏
