Hello dear readers! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We worked in the garden all day Saturday and with perfect weather were able to complete several projects. Finally, we have a beginning plan for our English cottage garden!
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.”
Isaiah 55:6
It is Monday Morning Blooms with my friends Lidy, Mary, and Shirley. We are excited to welcome a guest blogger who also loves gardening and flowers. Bonnie is a fellow Alabamian and we became friends when I started blogging and she so graciously reached out to me. She is a true Southern lady with her genteel spirit and sweet personality. Bonnie blogs at Living With Thanksgiving and we welcome her to Monday Morning Blooms!
Join me in the Sunshine Cottage for dancing poppies!
I think poppies are one of the happiest flowers, and their colors are stunning!
You can find my talented friends’ links at the bottom of this post!
If you don’t know Bonnie, now is the perfect time to see her love for flowers and how she artfully arranges them!
Is there a more simple arrangement than one variety of flowers placed in a Ball jar?
As the poppies dance happily in the jars, the sunlight is also dancing across my counter!
“Through the dancing poppies stole a breeze, most softly lulling to my soul’
-John Keats
Not only are there poppies, but also vintage flasks filled with ranunculus!
Iced tea glasses in an aqua color perfectly match the vintage Ball jars.
I have been waiting to spend the money that my sweet Daddy gave me for Christmas until I found something that I really wanted. The distressed white riser is one of my purchases with my Christmas money. We have a lovely downtown gift shop called the Alabama Gift Company. Kathy carries beautiful accessories, furniture, gourmet food, and the best roasted Snickerdoodle coffee. Many items in her shop are handcrafted in Alabama. Check out her Instagram for products.
The poppies, Williams Sonoma bird plate, and a couple of bird jeweled boxes all rest on the plateau.
The springtime WS salad plates are a set of four featuring birds, a butterfly, and a bunny. I had mentioned a couple of times about my collection of jeweled trinket boxes, and many of you requested that I show them. The bejeweled butterfly box is resting on the butterfly plate…
…and a jeweled hummingbird box was placed on the hummingbird plate!
With the boxes removed, I placed the flasks of ranunculus on the plates!
You all know I love color and the poppies and ranunculus provide an ample amount!
Be sure to visit all of my talented friends for beautiful floral inspiration. In case you haven’t entered our fabulous giveaway, the details are at the bottom of this post.

Thanks so much Shirley. I didn’t grow the poppies. They came from a flower farm nearby. I should try to grow them next year!

Love your new platform. It was worth waiting for! Those poppies are real? Oh my, what a marvel they are. I have never had any luck with them on Long Island. When mentioning favorite flowers for the give away, I didn’t even think of them but just look at them in all their glory and profusion of color. I adore Ranunculus too and forgot to mention them. Love them in all the colors. Gosh, those flasks make perfect vases! Happy Day!

I spread poppy seeds for the first time this year and I’m not optimistic. Seeing this glorious post with these ravishing poppies fills me with joy (and a wee tad of envy, I’m sorry to say!). They’re simply beautiful and look so lovely in the cottage with the sun adding that extra beauty. That flower riser is pretty by itself; with your fabulous flowers it gets an even bigger upgrade! Happy week!

Jeanie, maybe your poppies will come up. Please post photos if they do!

Oh, Pam! What beautiful, sunshine-y colors! Did those all come from your garden?! I’d be sad to cut them, but wow, they are beautiful on display. Poppies are like crepe paper, so delicate, but you’d never know it by how straight they’re standing. Your jewel boxes on the complementary plates are really pretty. Great purchase with your Daddy’s gift money! You will use it many times over, I’m sure. Looking forward to your English garden plans unfolding.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Rita, poppies are like crepe paper for sure. I didn’t grow the poppies, my flower farm friend did. I hope to plant for next year! The English garden will take time, but we will get there eventually!
Rita C. says
It took me a couple years before I could get mine to start, Pam. I tried from seed first, then went to my sister’s and dug up the plants the next year, and that worked. Love those colors!

Pam, I’m finishing my day enjoying your beautiful arrangements. Love the colorful poppies, they do make you smile indeed! Your riser is so pretty and it’s perfectly decorated. Your WS plates are perfect for Spring. Love your teal glasses and ball jars. Your jewelled trinket boxes are gorgeous! Enjoy your week sweet friend. Clara ❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Clara. Have you been gardening?
Enjoy your week♥️
Clara says
Unfortunately, no. We’re under a freeze watch tonight. Can you believe it? It’s around 75 and going to drop 40 degrees tonight to mid 30s. The high tomorrow will be 59. Maybe after this cool snap passes I can plant my zinnia and marigold seeds. I must cover all the bulbs coming up. We’re doing heavy spring cleaning and donating items we no longer need. It’s quite a chore but it’s rewarding once completed. Enjoy this beautiful day! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Clara, this weather is crazy. We are supposed to be down to 32 degrees Thursday morning. I will be covering everything we can. I haven’t planted zinnias yet and it is supposed to pour rain here on Saturday.
Heavy spring cleaning always makes me feel accomplished. Take care my friend ♥️

So beautiful, Pam! Poppies are gorgeous! I have tried to grow them here at home, but no luck. I don’t have that green thumb. I got a little lump in my throat reading that you had waited to spend Christmas money from your Dad. My parents always gave us “kids” Christmas money throughout our adulthood. I would always stash it away until I found “just the right thing” to buy, too. I can go through the house and point to those items purchased with money from them. Nice memories.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alycia, thank you my friend. I understand the lump in your throat. Thank you for sharing those sweet memories.
Linda Primmer says
How beautiful your dancing poppies look at Sunshine Cottage. Having a flower farm nearby is wonderful. Beautiful WS plates and those floral napkins caught my eye. Love the jeweled trinket boxes. We always pick up a trinket box when we visit Kauai. The poppies and ranunculus looks fabulous in the jars. Such a cheerful and lovely look for the start of a new week.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Linda. I love the mix of the happy colors!
Tea With Jennifer says
What a delightful display Pam. Poppies always remind me of my childhood where my Dad would have them growing up a trellis each year. Sweet memories, thank you for the evocation. ♥
Blessings,
Jennifer

Pam, its always a treat to be in your Sunshine Cottage. And I adore poppies! I’ve tried with little success to grow them, but I’m not giving up. I pass a garden on my way to the grocery and other frequent errands, and it is full of poppies like you have here. I think these are Icelandic poppies. Your table details make me smile. Love the bright colors and fun dish stack. You inspire!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Sarah for your sweet comments.
