Happy Tuesday sweet friends. As always, I am so glad to see you here!
“Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.”
Psalm 119:89
It is hard to believe that a few packets of tiny seeds can add so much color to the garden. Let’s take a look, you might want to bring your sunnies and a hat!
Zinnias are a perfect summer flower!
This was my first year to order from Johnny’s Seeds and I have been very pleased.
Zinnias love full sun and can withstand our hot Alabama summers.
Bees love them as well as butterflies. In late summer to early fall the monarchs should return and zinnias are their flower of choice in our garden.
Zinnia is a genus of plants of the sunflower tribe within the daisy family. Members of the genus are notable for their solitary long-stemmed flowers that come in a variety of colors.
Zinnias are an annual plant that preferably grows from seed, as they dislike being transplanted. They benefit from deadheading to encourage further blooming.
They are easy to grow and will produce flowers until the first frost!
The intricate detail…
…from the Hand of our Creator…
…is amazing…
…we only have to open our eyes to see the wonder of His creation!
A butterfly, one summer day
Spoke to me as he fluttered my way
He asked me where the flowers were
And told me which he did prefer
I pointed where the zinnias grew
He thanked me, and off he flew!
As I continued on my walk
I wondered, who taught him to talk!
-Joseph May
Zinnias are a lovely stand alone flower or they mix beautifully with others. In this farm fresh flower arrangement, they joined dahlias, sunflowers, celosia, and cosmos!
Thank you so much for visiting the zinnias and for your gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled day!

I love zinnias! They’re such hardy and happy flowers. Love your arrangement on your tabletop. That’s a very nice cloth, transitioning to a late summer look.

Pam, Your arrangement is gorgeous! It’s so healthy and colorful. That tablecloth is a perfect compliment to your arrangement and is beautiful. Zinnias are a favorite. Ours is a bit behind yours but they are blooming now. Thanks for the post. Stay cool, it’s miserably hot here due to the humidity so we know you’re probably having the same type weather. Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Clara, I am happy to hear your zinnias are blooming! Yes heat and humidity make it difficult to work in the garden. Thank you ♥️

Pam, your zinnias are beautiful! Their pretty blooms and bright color make me smile. The arrangement you created is absolutely stunning! You always create the most gorgeous floral arrangements. I planted several zinnia packets last year and had pretty good luck. However, this year they are just not doing well. The have very few petals and look more like a small wildflower. I’m wondering if maybe I received some bad seeds. I may have to order from Johnny’s Seeds next year. Thanks for giving us a tour of your zinnia garden. It was the perfect start to my day! Happy Tuesday, my dear friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
This year has been difficult because of loads of rain and late frost. Thankfully, the zinnias have thrived. Thank you sweet friend!

I love zinnias! Your garden always inspires me! I grew some herbs from seeds this year and they’ve done well. Now I want to try zinnias! Thanks for sharing!

Wow those are so pretty! I especially like the shot with the sunflowers. I remember one year my mother in-law had them growing in her vegetable garden. She showed me how to open the flower and get the seeds from them I was able to take them home and plant them and in no time they were growing! Happy Days!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Liz. What a sweet memory of your grandmother. Have a wonderful week!

Thank you Nancy. So far, Johnny seeds have done well. I recommend them, they are in Maine. Not too far from your summer home.

Awww, this post is just so lovely. I was peering out over my garden from a second story window this morning and recall thinking that the garden just needs a little more pizzazz. Now, reading your post, I think that next year zinnias dotted here and there would be just the thing. Have a great day, Pam!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cindie, it is a great idea to dot some zinnias around for color!

Hi Pam,
The Zinnias are stunning! The arrangement with the other flowers is so beautiful. I remember my Aunt (who had a green thumb and a beautiful yard) grew Zinnias. She did the most beautiful flower arrangements. In fact, she did the flowers for my rehearsal dinner (which included Zinnias) and the bouquets for my wedding. I am going to have to try them next year. 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Lynda, thanks for sharing those sweet memories. I know the arrangements with the zinnias were beautiful!

A beautiful bang for the buck Pam! I’ve got to find a way to bunny proof my area to plant zinnia seeds next year.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, they are! It has been so wet that we have still had plenty of clover for our bunny population.
