Happy August sweet friends! It is unbelievable that we are already into our eighth month. Last week triple digit heat indexes were the norm, but this weeks highs are predicted to be in the 80’s. That will be a nice change!
“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.”
Psalm 90:14
It is Monday Morning Blooms with Shirley, Mary, and Lidy. Today I am celebrating white hydrangeas in the garden!
Our common theme for this edition of Monday Morning Blooms is white flowers! It makes me very happy to go out to the garden and cut flowers to make arrangements!
You will find the links for my friends’ beautiful flowers at the bottom of this post.
Our garden is full of white blooms…three different varieties of hydrangeas.
Vanilla-strawberry, limelight, and little lamb hydrangeas along with a few cuttings of white crape myrtle fill the MacKenzie Childs “flower market” canister. With large showy blooms, they practically arranged themselves.
One of three limelights that were planted in the back of the garden. Limelights are known as a garden rock star for their enormous football-shaped blooms. By the first of July, flowers develop showing off a unique celadon green, which slowly changes to bright white. As the flower ages it turns a soft shade of pink.
You catch a glimpse of the white crape myrtle in the background and two of the five vanilla-strawberry hydrangeas.
A favorite and often used tablecloth is from April Cornell. It is discontinued in this color, but “cottage rose” is available in other colors.
Vanilla-strawberry hydrangeas are beginning to turn!
This photo was taken a couple of weeks before I cut blooms for the arrangement. They had not reached their maximum large flower heads! For more info, check out gardening with limelight and vanilla strawberry hydrangeas.
Vintage Fostoria stemware that was given to me many years ago by a dear friend of my mother. You can see the vanilla strawberry hydrangeas are turning pink. In cooler climates the pink will change to a strawberry color!
The table was set simply to allow the hydrangeas to be the star!
Sur la Table “rose garden” salad plate by April Cornell rests on a majolica dinner plate with a napkin tucked between for another punch of color.
Notice the height of the vanilla strawberry in the background!
There is a lot going on in this image!! Bottom right foreground are little lamb hydrangeas that have begun to turn pink. Vanilla strawberry hydrangea takes up the middle and white crape myrtle stands tall in the background!
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the blue sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
-John Lubbock
Vanilla strawberry!
Our table is nestled beside adagio maiden grasses which provide a natural border for the planned Sunshine Cottage garden.

Swoon Pam! Your garden is beautiful and full of white blooms! I love white flowers for the illusion of ‘cool’ they provide when it’s hot and steamy outside and how they glow in the evening. Your rose garden salad plate is the perfect complement to your pretty April Cornell tablecloth, and your MacKenzie Childs flower market canister makes the perfect vessel for your table and hydrangea blooms! As always it’s a treat to join you for some flower therapy! Happy August.♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Mary. Our humidity and temps were down today. It felt wonderful!

Happy Monday Pam!…Your gardens can be in the category of many famous botanical gardens. Stunning Pam.
Every summer, I look forward to your blooming hydrangeas of the many varieties. This most “happy” table of colorful blooms would be the highlight of any garden party. I miss our Sur la Table store that recently closed. Love how you used the MKC flower market canister to beautifully display your hydrangeas. As always your table is set impeccably and I am in love with those exquisite goblets gifted to you by your mother’s friend. They must bring you special memories. Again, a beautifully set table and flowers from your garden. Have a fabulous day Pam…happy to be sharing blooms with you today!

I can just imagine the joy you must be feeling at this point to walk out and cut your garden blooms, Pam. They are prolific! And to have three choices of whites in August – that’s an immediate cooling effect. Your combination of AC tablecloth and salads plates with M-C canister adds all the color needed to showcase those white blooms. I love the adagio maiden grasses right now, and they complement the placemats perfectly. Very pretty. Happy August!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Rita. It was cooler today which was a welcome change!

Thank you Yvonda. The deer have munched on a couple of hydrangeas in our front landscape area. We live next to 250 acres of woods and they are full of deer.

Good morning, Pam. Your garden is gorgeous and your table is stunning. And, your arrangement – no words. My mom would have given you her highest praises on your magnificent white arrangement. No higher praises of those from a National Flower Show Judge. She won many honors with white arrangements.
Have a beautiful day and week, dear friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sandra, thank you for your sweet comments, especially the one about your mom!

Loving all the beautiful white blooms. Girl, it’s so hot here, humid, rain predicted a lot this week. I am about OVER the heat! LOL! I want to do a little tableacape outside by the pond but it’s been so hot these days that it about makes me sick thinking about it. Marty and I try to sit outside by the pond on Friday afternoons a bit and girl, I had run an extension cord to a fan recently just so it would blow on me! Honestly, not sure it helped but made me feel better. LOL! Hugs and blessings to you dear Pam. Cindy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Cindy! I feel your pain about the heat and humidity. We have lower temps and humidity this week and it feels wonderful!
