Merry Monday! It is only five sleeps until Christmas Day. Is it just me or do you feel like Christmas arrived rather quickly? Thanks for stopping by our final Monday Morning Blooms for 2021. Join me as we experience the wonders of Christmas!
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”
Luke 2:7
As we celebrate Christmas this Saturday, may we not forget that the greatest Gift ever given was not found under a tree, but in a lowly manger. On that night so long ago, there was no room in the inn for the King of Kings. Little has changed in the past two thousand years.
In a manger in Bethlehem, there lies a stranger in a foreign land.
Heaven’s joy in a manger makes my heart sing.
Holy Love in a manger, Christ the King!
~Butch Richardson
In the stillness of the early morning, I love the peace and quiet as I gaze at the twinkling lights!
You will find the beautiful links for Lidy, Mary, and Shirley at the bottom of this post.
I kept Christmas somewhat simple in our home this year. So many boxes weren’t unpacked and I am considering a major purge this coming year. Most of my decorating was concentrated in the Sunshine Cottage!
A tree filled with special memories!
Many of you remember the large seven piece Nativity that sat on our hearth every year. Mary, Joseph, and the Christ child are now displayed on an old French chest.
A beautiful fresh wreath from The Magnolia Company was shared on a post at the beginning of November. It has now completely dried and still remains beautiful. I have only added a candle, with everything else still original.
Don’t tell anyone, but I often indulge in a cup (or mug) of hot chocolate!
Even though this photo is only showing six, there are now seven stockings hanging from the mantel. We are so happy to have added one for Wyatt. All of the needlepoint stockings came from Horchow, but they were not available this year. I ordered Wyatt’s from L.L.Bean and I am very pleased with its quality.
The magnolia wreath was placed on a large Christmas platter and Leyland Cypress was tucked in underneath the wreath.
A view of the tree in the dining room!
The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy. I hope to slow down and enjoy the wonders of Christmas!
Lidy, Mary, and Shirley always share beautiful images and lovely sentiments. You will not want to miss visiting them!

Pam, Your home is truly beautiful! I love seeing with all your Christmas décor and the twinkling lights of your beautiful tree and mantel. I love the early morning hours too with the glow provided from the tree. We were out of town for Thanksgiving and the first weekend in December so the month flew by for me, and lots of boxes remain unpacked! Thank you for sharing the Reason for the Season and Wonders of Christmas. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas week. ♥

I love seeing all the detail of your home, Pam. It’s really beautiful. I obviously understand the desire to purge, but your things are lovely. If Alyson is willing to take some of your beauties, that should make your heart much lighter in the purge. Merry Christmas to your entire family!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Rita. Our son and DIL are rather simple, and don’t like a lot of stuff. Merry Christmas to your family. This Christmas will be so special with your precious little one!

Loved seeing your beautiful home decked out for Christmas. Your mantle, your tree, the Nativity scene are all so beautifully done. The room just invites us to come sit and drink a hot chocolate with you. What a beautiful job you have done with your blog this year. Merry Christmas. Relax and enjoy this week celebrating the birth of our Lord.

Your home looks beautiful Pam, and I can picture you sitting there in the morning or evening quiet sipping on your hot chocolate and enjoying your beautiful trees. The magnolia leaf wreath is beautiful in it’s dried state and looks wonderful on your coffee table with the candle. I didn’t get out all my decorations this year either, how did we ever acquire so much stuff 😂 I hope your week slows a little and you get more time to sit back and enjoy!

Jenna, I don’t know how I acquired so much stuff. Enjoy this week of Christmas!

Pam, Your home is beautifully adorned for Christmas! Your nativity is gorgeous. I always love seeing it. We rarely use all of our decorations each year in the past few years. We have kept everything so we can rotate items. I actually enjoy it. I pull something out that hasn’t been used in a year or two and it’s like I have found a new treasure. You have such a peaceful spot for enjoying your hot chocolate. I love the candle wreath and your mantel garland. Enjoy your week! Merry Christmas! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Clara. Rotating it is a great idea. It would feel like you have a new treasure. Merry Christmas ♥️

Oh no! I counted only 6 stockings. Does someone not have a stocking? And yes, the days are flying by for everyone including myself that I talk with. I loved the sneak peak into the foyer. The blue clock is outstanding. Is that a gift from Christmas past? MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Alice. There are seven stockings. One was turned sideways and blended into the Christmas tree. I have had the antique clock for at least 40 years, I decided to have Butch paint it blue. I never paint antiques, but decided this was a good idea and I love it. Merry Christmas ♥️

Pam, your home is gorgeous. I don’t ever remember seeing the border on your lovely rug. Oh, I do love it. I well understand wanting to make things a bit simpler. I am in that very place too. Especially since I have looked for the past several months for two gorgeous pillows and can not put my hands on them. I think it is time to clear out just a bit.
Wishing all of you a most beautiful Christmas and the best of health and happiness in the New Year.
Many Blessings, to all.

Hello Pam, I want to share this with you, so you know who is lurking in the Sunshine Cottage. My Dr. told me, to lessen the stress, create an imaginary room, one I can retreat to when things get a bit over whelming. Well, I thought why not visit the sunshine cottage. I can just hang out there for a while. So, just so you know, it is a wonderful spot retreat to.
