“And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.”
Luke 2:20
As we looked out on the porch yesterday morning we found these 3 gifts had been left secretly sometime during the night. Excitement turned to disbelief as I examined the names on them to discover P J and I were not included. They were for EM, EK, and WL. I guess this is a reflection of who is naughty and who is nice??
Christmas morning in the winter garden was cloudy but mild. I love the sunshine but P J loves a cloudy day this time of year. She says it feels more like Christmas if it at least looks wintry! I decided that it was a good day to keep things simple and reflect on “all things December” around the house. The anticipation and festivities that lead up to Christmas day keeps us all busy, but the actual day comes and goes so quickly!
I am placing a few links in today’s post that you can click on in case you missed a previous post and would like to see more!
I thought I would start with a greeting from “our door to yours“!
The Williamsburg fan gets a place of prominence every year above my shop door.
The antique doors on the Sunshine Cottage are inviting you in…
…and once inside, you can see P J has spent a lot of time making the cottage a magical place to hang out in the December days leading up to Christmas!
The girls are into the nutcracker scene this year. Since they like to party in the cottage, most of the nutcrackers moved there for the season!
From “our table to yours”…
…time spent gathered around festive tables is certainly a joy and blessing…
…and also brings about the need for a renewed diet and exercise plan to be implemented in January!
The nutcrackers did temporarily move to the dining room for a special mealtime earlier in the month!
On Christmas Day, our table is often set with plates that are part of a collection that is called Bethlehem Christmas. Each plate has a verse that shares events that surrounded the birth of Jesus. We place them around the table in order, with everyone reading the verse at their place setting before sitting down to dinner.
From “our home to yours“…
…enjoy the holidays and get some rest if you can before next weekend! Maybe??? It’s a nice thought anyway.
I did not roam around too much last week, trying to settle in and focus on the reality of Christ and Christmas. But I couldn’t let this beautiful late afternoon pass without taking it in with a walk and a camera!
”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”.

I do so enjoy the pampered feeling of your virtual hospitality. Your home is absolutely beautiful. I met Jesus as Savior after hearing the Christmas story and finally understanding that ‘story’ in light of its connection to the cross and resurrection of Christ..Thanks for faithfully lifting up His Name above all names.
Blessed, Cindie
