Hello sweet friends. Are you seeing any signs of spring around your house? We have enjoyed beautiful spring weather over the past week. I am ready for spring to make its official beginning. But, looking at the current weather across the country and our long range forecast, it is obvious these past few days were only a tease!
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 26:3
It is Monday Morning Blooms with my friends, Lidy, Mary, and Shirley!
Our common theme for this edition of Monday Morning Blooms is “green”. Have you ever noticed all the varying shades of green in early spring?
You will find the links for my talented friends at the bottom of this post.
Green flowers were in short supply at the grocery store. I managed to find a couple of mini hydrangea blooms and a few mums. I grabbed a small package of greens for filler, just in case. I knew that foraging was going to be necessary. RM took a walk outdoors and brought back several green cuttings that were perfect…magnolia leaves, yaupon holly, azalea, camellia, cherry laurel, and rosemary!
With sunny skies and temperatures in the high 70’s, the picnic table was the ideal spot for Monday Morning Blooms. My Renaissance Man plants winter rye grass in early autumn and you can see the beautiful shade of green it provides in this area. Two snowball viburnums are visible in the upper right of this photo. They are just beginning to bud and are a little later this year because of a colder February.
This photo is from last year. You can see their blooms start out a beautiful chartreuse (yellow- green) before they turn to a creamy shade of white! I am actually hoping the blooms don’t pop this week since we are expecting at least 3 nights below freezing, beginning Friday night!
The table displays many shades of green just as spring does in its beginning stages. The plate stack mimics the colors found on the paisley tablecloth.
The chartreuse dinner plate reminds of the earliest budding of trees. The triple leaf border on the Portmeirion “botanic garden” salad plate resembles leaves as they mature in spring to a darker shade of green. Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage leaf plates are a shade of green also found in nature!
Twig flatware, Noritake “reverie” ice tea glasses, and chevron green and white napkins complete each place setting.
A view of the garden as it is beginning to awaken and the Sunshine Cottage in the distance.
For texture and more green, the arrangement (I use the term loosely) was placed on a faux cedar placemat.
For additional greens, a small vase was filled with asparagus and rosemary…an edible arrangement!
“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.”
~Charles Dickens
A precious friend gave me the sweet sheep and lamb…it just says spring to me!
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures…”
Psalm 23:1-2a
Just a click away, Lidy, Mary, and Shirley are sharing beautiful “green” inspiration!

Oh Pam, I am thrilled to see a table beautifully set in your garden again. I cannot imagine how gorgeous your gardens are in the spring. I envy the fact that you can forage your gardens and property for flowers and greenery to create beautifully curated tablescapes and flower arrangements such as these today. As always your plate stacks are gorgeous. You have such a beautiful collection of dinnerware/china and stemware…not to mention your collection of gorgeous tablecloths…I love the pair of sheep…what a very sweet gift from your friend. I am in love with your statue so appropriate for you! Yes, this weather is crazy…my camellias are starting to bloom and I fear they may get zapped. It is so very lovely to join you and the wonderful ladies of MMB for such wonderful flower happiness! Have a most wonderful week Pam! 🌼
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Shirley. Our temperatures are dropping below freezing this weekend. I am afraid some of my budding trees will suffer.
Mary says
Pam, What a beautiful array of spring greens you have, from soft shades in your paisley tablecloth, plate stack and pretty foraged greenery and blooms! I love to forage for greenery and am looking forward to have flowers to cut in the garden again. The young rye grass is the most beautiful green color and a true sign of spring! All our spring shrubs and trees are later blooming this year too with our colder than average January temps…a good thing with the dip into the 20s here this weekend. As always, it’s a treat to share blooms and join you for some flower therapy. Happy Monday ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Mary. I fear my snowballs and Lady Banks rose will suffer with three straight nights below freezing. It seems to happen every year.
Penny at Enjoying The Simple Things says
How beautiful! I love all the different shades of green. Those cabbage plates are perfection!

Thanks so much, Penny!

Your setting for your table is serene and full of hope of the coming spring. I love the myriad of green shades in your arrangement, place setting, linens, and backdrop. The sweet sheep that were a gift from someone special added the perfect accent. Psalm 23:1-2 is a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
When nature is awakening with new growth it is exhilarating. I noticed some of our large deciduous trees were budding out yesterday.
As usual Pam, your use of texture is always inspiring. I love how you mixed the paisley tablecloth and chevron pattern in your napkins with the Portmeirion and Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates.
Wishing you a lovely week.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
As always, thank you for your sweet and uplifting comments. Wishing you a joy-filled week, Bonnie!

Pam, green is my favorite color (yellow, 2nd). I’m constantly looking for small ways to bring “greenery” into my little home. Our March weather took a turn and today, wind chills are in the 20’s! But I’m hopeful and positive it won’t be long until things bloom again! Happy Monday sweet, Pam! Love and prayers! 💚💚🙏🏻
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Karla. We are forecast to have three nights below freezing this weekend. Have a joy-filled week, sweet friend 💚🙏🏻💚

I am in love with the rosemary and asparagus arrangement! YES! It has been most warm here the last few days. The weather in Florida has been fickle to say the least. But, I am seeing shades of Spring everywhere. I hope that your week is lovely sweet Pam. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Oh, wow! It is so amazing how you can make beauty out of anything! Even when you have limited supplies, it always looks so impeccable. I have to be honest, I am kind of glad we are getting a bit more winter before heading full blown into Spring. It just seems like the seasons fly by so fast, and I just get settled in to be comfortable in one when it ends and a new one begins! Time goes by so fast – I must be getting old! LOL! I remember Mom and Dad talking about things like this happening as they got older. I am just so thankful to still be alive and able to enjoy it all. God is so good!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Cheryl. The seasons do rush by quickly. Winter provides a season of rest for us! God is so very good!

You are so creative dear Pam. Your thoughts of the different colors of Spring and incorporating it into your tablescape from the linens, to the plates, to the flowers along with greenery and the edible arrangement as well. Amazing dear friend.

I always wished I could paint in early spring when there are so many shades of green! This warm weather was just at tease, but it has been so wonderful. The biggest snow we have had since 1985 was in March…12”! The arrangement is lovely, and the asparagus was a clever touch. I love the little sheep!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. Our biggest snow ever was 1993 12-15 inches. We were without power for a week.
Heritage Hall says
Ahh, soothing green….. Your table setting is marvelous as ever….just love the way you combined the hues and textures
to mimic the natural setting surrounding it. Butch added his paintbrush with that beautiful rye green carpet. In doing
concentrated needlework I was admonished to look away from the linen and concentrate on something green and tired
eyes would be eased….it worked….nature’s own balm… Love the “tasteful” use of asparagus and rosemary and I suggest
you secure that precious sheep and lamb to the table so it does not leap into my tote. Thank you for this wonderful breath
of springtime.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I always love reading your descriptive comments, Mary. Happy week! 💚

Beautiful display with the different greens. Sheep and lamb say PEACE. We always plant rye grass because I don’t like a dead grass looking yard.

Dear Pam, your table is such a tribute to Spring and the month of March. March was the birthday month in my family, so it is and always has been a favorite month for me. I am so fond of chartreuse, I think it is beautiful. The Annabelle hydrangeas always begin in that color and I love to see them.
Have a good week, my friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Sandra. It is going to be below freezing for three nights this weekend. There is already trees in bloom. My snowball viburnums will be bitten. In the big picture with what is going on in our world, that pales in comparison!
thefrenchhutch says
So many shades of green to love here today Pam. Your florals and greens are stunning in your presentations as well as your table. A lovely look at early spring in our gardens with a peek to remind us of beautiful hydrangeas to come. After yesterday, the cold that’s forecast for the weekend is a bummer! Stay warm and cozy this weekend…….
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Emily. They are trees in bloom that will be bitten over the weekend. You stay warm!

I need to borrow some of your greens for the St. Patrick’s night dinner we’re having for friends. Considering this morning’s temperatures are in the 30’s, your outdoor table makes me smile. It’s hard to predict day to day weather this time of year and you found a good day for your table setting.
Sarah says
Pam, this is gorgeous! I’m obviously late to Monday Morning Blooms. I must get busy visiting the others too. Just shows what my week has been like! Love your alfresco setting with all the shades of green and the cute sheep. Have a great day!

Pam, this all looks so beautiful and makes me long for spring. We had a winter storm this week and received several inches of snow, but we were back up in the upper 60s today. Hopefully, warmer days are ahead! Sorry, I am so late commenting. I have been under the weather the past few weeks, but I am doing much better. I always love your gorgeous tablescapes with the backdrop of your lovely gardens. Wishing you a most wonderful week ahead my sweet friend!
