Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. Our weather on Sunday was perfect…sunshine, light breeze, and seventy one degrees.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7
Our peonies are in bloom and they seemed to demand that I set a table in the garden!
With more than a hundred blooms this year, I have been over the moon with excitement. Vases of pure white Festiva Maxima, pastel pink Sarah Bernhardt, and brilliant fuchsia/red Karl Rosenfield peonies have filled our home and some landed on the garden table.
A table for two was set for tea and included one of my favorites…macarons!
The table was placed in the back of the garden in front of the apricot drift roses to enjoy their lovely fragrance!
“And the wind upon its way whispered the boughs of May, And touched the nodding peony flowers to bid them waken.”
~Siegfried Sassoon
I mentioned here about buying something special with the money that Daddy gave me for Christmas. With his gift, I also purchased the Williams Sonoma “Famille Rose” teapot, cream and sugar set. Cups and saucers are by Grace Teaware and found at Home Goods years ago.
Many of you have asked about my linens in previous posts. I have been collecting April Cornell linens for years. With my love for English Country, AC’s floral tablecloths appeal to my design style. The 54 inch square breakfast cloth is called “charming tablecloth” and the 88 inch round cloth is “forget me not” in pink. I order most of mine from their website and have never been disappointed. The quality is always excellent. Both of the cloths are new and available. Many of mine are now discontinued.
By simply stacking the cups, saucers, and plates, it changed the setting!
I am more of a coffee drinker (snob) than tea. But my favorite cup of hot tea is Earl Grey!
The morning sun was casting a beautiful light on the Japanese maple!
This photo almost gives an illusion of the peonies blending into the tablecloth!
Spring has been late this year. Our flowers are at least two weeks later than normal. Hopefully, I will share a garden post on Thursday.
Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled day!

Just beautiful Pam! I love your pretty tea table with your gorgeous AC table linens! I know you’re thrilled to have that many peonies in bloom! Ours are starting to bloom too and a little behind yours. So pretty! What a perfect setting! I’m more of a coffee person, too, but I’d definitely love a tea ritual with table setting and garden as beautiful as this!

Thank you, Pam. I hate to share, but I went back to Dr this morning and was prescribed an inhaler, steroids, and cough medicine. Praise God no pneumonia! I have a school visit tomorrow so I’m headed to bed with medicine to help me rest. I’m giving myself grace and so thankful for the Godly and lovely Dr who even gave me a hug. Thank you so much for your continued prayers, love, and support. It means so very much to me. ❤️💜🙏🏻

Karla, I am so sorry to read of your continued struggle. Hopefully the meds will kick in and you will feel better really soon. Love, hugs, and prayers 🙏🏻

Pam, there’s no easy way to share ~I have cancer. I have a rare tumor in my liver, a mass on my pancreas, two lymph nodes, a place on my right skull, hip, and pelvis. My youngest flew in from Germany, my oldest and his family will be here late Wednesday. My family and I will see my oncologist on Weds. oh, Pam. I feel like it’s all a dream. I know God has me, but the reality hits me hard at times. I have faith in Christ to take me through. He’s never forsaken me. I know that you and Butch will pray with my family. I love you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕💕💕💕
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Karla, I don’t have adequate words for such devastating news. I will share with my friends on a prayer chain. You will be in my constant prayers.
I have been praying for you and have been so concerned that something more was going on. Yes, God has you and he will not let go of you. I will reply more today when my out of town company gets on the road.
I love you my friend ♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️

Thank you, Pam. Covid hit so hard and now I know why! Prayer is such an important and vital piece of healing. I’m going to try and make a short post for all my followers. It’s taken me a bit to find my words. 💛❤️💕🙏🏻

Your AC collection is growing gorgeously, Pam! This pairing reminds me of Dorothy Draper”s original combo for the Greenbrier. I love that preppy pink and green! Your Famille Rose is a perfect gift to attribute to your Daddy’s gift to you. And not to overlook the obvious beauty here….your peonies! I am so enjoying these beauties also. Given the variety I already have, I think I may need to add a Sarah Bernhardt soft pink to mine.Yours are all so pretty, and I can almost smell their sweet fragrance {almost}!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I have always loved the original DD’s pink and green. Carleton Varney seems to follow your style. Thank you, Rita!
Maureen says
You spent your Daddy’s gift wisely as that teapot set is exquisite. I have often admired that pattern. The linens are gorgeous. I wish I had a round table in my home. I would definitely have purchased those linens. Everything is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Maureen. Most of their linens come in a rectangular size, as well. Have a lovely week!

First thing that caught my eyes was the tablecloths! April Cornell does a wonderful job on their linens. I really love this tablescape, the peonies are glorious! Ours won’t be in bloom for a while yet. The dishes are wonderful and those roses are fantastic!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Liz! I can’t wait to see your garden in complete spring mode!
Clara says
Pam, Your teapot, sugar and creamer are beautiful and your AC linens are gorgeous! The table topper paired with the hot pink tablecloth are perfectly matched to the peonies. You have so many gorgeous blooms! Mine have come up but are too young to bloom yet. I’m hoping they bloom next year. Enjoy your day. It’s going to be in the 90s here! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Clara. The South seems to begin summer too early. Enjoy your week ♥️
Linda Primmer says
Beautiful table Pam with your AC table linens. I love pink, so this appeals to me. Your tea set is so pretty. So fresh and lovely and with your backdrop of beautiful gardens. The peonies are a favorite. I find they don’t last long once they are cut. Any tips? Have a wonderful week.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Linda. Peonies have a short vase life. The Karl Rosenfield lasts longer in the vase than the other two I have!
marmeladegypsy says
These are fabulous, Pam! I love that somehow you can get the ants out of the peonies enough that you can have them on the tea table, which is so beautifully decorated. Love the linens and all your set up and those peonies — isn’t the fragrance the best?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Jeanie. I normally give the peonies a good shake before I bring them inside. I also give them a sprinkle to remove any lingering ants!
Kris@Junkchiccottage says

Pam, your peony inspired table is gorgeous! How wonderful to have so many peony blooms to create several arrangements to enjoy throughout your home. They make such a pretty centerpiece and compliment your AC table linens perfectly. I adore pink and green so much! I am admiring that beautiful tea set and accompanying pink teacups. It is all so stunning together in your garden setting. Our spring has been late as well and I’m afraid we may have skipped right over to summer. Our heat index was 93 yesterday. I so enjoyed our visit today, and I wish you a most wonderful week sweet friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Shannon. Oh my you skipped spring and went straight to summer. Wishing you a lovely week sweet friend!

I am also over the moon about this post. A lover of everything you’ve done, the tea service, the peonies, the tablecloths from April Cornell, the apricot drift roses, the macrons. Where do you find those as can’t find them here? Have a closet full of tablecloths. Do you think I could squeeze “Charming” in?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Alice. They have them at bakery here. Also, at Trader Joe’s.
Go ahead and buy “charming”!

Lovely. Peonies always remind me of my dad. I have some of his peonies growing in my gardens. They never cease to bring back a memory and a wave of love and admiration for him.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cindie, what treasures to have some of your dad’s peonies in your garden!
Sarah says
Gorgeous tea for two, Pam! Love the April Cornell linens! I’m green with envy with your abundance of peonies. We can’t grow them here, so I rely on the flower markets. Trader Joe’s is my go to spot for peonies, but I’ve yet to get some. Last year they were limiting each person to two bunches. I hope that doesn’t happen this year. The fragrance is so wonderful. I can just imagine your home with flowers in every room.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Sarah. There isn’t a grocery that sells them here. They have been exquisite this year!
Alycia Nichols says
Hi there! April Cornell is always so beautiful. You say they’ve never disappointed, and I totally believe you!!!!!!! These 2 are certainly no exception! They’ve earned their names! They’re both perfect for the garden setting, too! My, oh my!!!!!! The SIZE of those peonies!!!!!!! And so much of your beautiful florals have already come to life! I’m still waiting for “the right time” as we’ve been inundated with rain for weeks to the point of flooding and now suddenly have highs in the upper 90s. What happened to Spring?!??!??!?!?
How incredibly generous of your Dad to gift you with enough dough to buy that William Sonoma tea set. I’ve visited Williams Sonoma and had to walk away emptyhanded and crying. SO beautiful!!! Just so elegant in every way! And I remember the Grace Teaware cups and saucers. They’re just gorgeous in this setting!
Lovely, lovely, lovely!!!!!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Alycia. Your sweet comments to warm my heart 💗

Good morning, dear Pam. Your table is glorious. Those three peonies are some of my favorites. I love the silver picotee edges of Karl Rosenfield. And the fragrance of Festiva Maxima is heavenly. Your tea service is so pretty. I am so pleased you had your garden tea – the peonies would have been so disappointed had you not.
Happy week to you, Pam. Enjoy your gorgeous blooms@
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Sandra. Festiva Maxima has a heavenly fragrance. Enjoy your garden my friend!
Gail says
Your pretty table cloth really shows off your peonies
I have about 3-4 days before mine start fully opening
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Gail. Enjoy those blooms when they open!
Roxanne Bernard says
What an idyllic setting! The peonies are exquisite, and that Karl Rosenfeld hue is just yummy! You made the perfect purchase with your daddy’s Christmas gift. I had some new landscapers trim my shrubbery yesterday since that is still on my forbidden list. They did a great job, and I was very happy until last night when I noticed my biggest hydrangea bush is now half its size. I felt like crying because it was loaded with buds. Oh well, there is always next year.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Roxanne. Oh no, they cut back your largest hydrangea. I am so sorry!
Dianne Sharpe says
Pam, your table is a wow. Your peonies are magnificent on this AC cloth. Just glorious all of it! I have been in my garden all day. There is nothing quite like growing flowers and waiting for them to bloom. You spent your gift money well. Love the WS teapot.

Thanks so much, Dianne. Your comments are so appreciated!

Oh my goodness Pam – this is so beautiful! I love your AC tablecloths and how you paired the green one over the pink one. And the WS Famille Rose and Grace teaware is perfect for your table. And those peonies are just beautiful – the smell must be incredible at your place with all those flowers in bloom! Our shrubs and trees and flowers are 2 to 4 weeks behind here as well. Enjoy that lovely garden!

Thanks so much, Kim! Your comments are always heartwarming.
