Hello sweet friends and Happy Tuesday! We enjoyed an autumn tease last week with mornings in the fifties and afternoons in the low eighties. We are now back to summer here in our Appalachian Foothills. Autumn officially begins on Thursday. Are you experiencing any fall-like weather yet?
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22
It is the third Tuesday of the month which means Tea On Tuesdays. Mary and I are welcoming a special guest today that you all know. Our guest is Lidy from French Garden House and Monday Morning Blooms. She always adds her beautiful French flair to everything she touches. We are delighted that she is sharing tea with us.
You will find the links for Mary’s and Lidy’s stunning tea settings at the bottom of this post.
Vintage “harvest time” by Johnson Brothers, with its brown multi-color fruit and leaves, reminds me of my favorite season!
My RM (Renaissance Man) has been working over the past few weeks enlarging our garden. This new space is directly behind my garden table where you see the stack of pumpkins. This area has some shade in the mornings so it seemed an ideal spot for tea!
Living in the country is always interesting and somewhat challenging with our abundant wildlife. Long-time readers know we have dealt with raccoons, deer, skunks, coyotes, armadillos, and of course those pesky and gnawing squirrels. While I went back inside for just a minute, Miss Squirrel helped herself to some bites of candy corn. When I came back, she tried to hide her naughty behavior with an acorn in her mouth! I will let you in on a secret, I am a longtime collector of this and that. I bought one enameled jeweled trinket box many years ago and then I couldn’t stop. Miss Squirrel likes to come out of hiding during the fall season.
I can’t blame the squirrel for a bite out of this delicious apple fritter with caramel glaze! There is no recipe, it came from my favorite local bakery. I will be returning for more of these apple treats. My sweet Daddy loved them!
I am still enjoying the beautiful selections of tea from a Spot of Tea. Cinnamon vanilla, a black tea with warm cinnamon and vanilla spices, was my choice to accompany the fritter. It is a perfect blend of autumn in a cup and complemented the apple fritter.
Do you like candy corn? I find that most people either love it or hate it. I fall in the category of loving it! My grands and daughter-in-love fall in the same category. I sent all of it home with them so I wouldn’t be tempted.
Fuji apples were placed in the hand crafted basket to join a favorite pillow!
Speaking of collections, I have four glass handbags that I can’t even remember where I found them. Did I just buy one? Of course not because they varied in size and shape. For years, I have used all four in a guest bedroom and while dusting it dawned on me to select one for a small bouquet. This little arrangement took no more than ten minutes, including cutting the Autumn Fire Sedum and zinnias.
A plaid tablecloth and vintage pumpkin-colored napkin add more autumn vibes to my tea table for one!
If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour.”

Pumpkin flavored macarons are a fall must-have for me!
You will want to stop in for tea with Lidy and Mary. These talented ladies never disappoint!

Good Morning Pam! Your tea for one table looks so cool inviting in your garden setting with the dappled sunlight. I love your pretty plaid tablecloth with the wide pumpkin stripes and handbag arrangement of sedum and zinnias and your apple fritter looks delicious! Harvest Time by Johnson Brothers is a favorite pattern as it was my grandmother’s and I have a few of her remaining pieces. I love it framed with your Spode plate and pretty brown border. I love to decorate with candy corn but fall into the ‘not a fan’ camp. 😊 And squirrels…don’t get me started on the havoc they wreak, but your trinket box is adorable! It’s a treat to join you for a cuppa this morning! Happy Tuesday ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Mary. Speaking of havoc, we had an armadillo visit last night and dug holes galore in front of my cottage😲
Carole @ From My Carolina Home says
Oh, my, Pam, I have a similar glass handbag! It belonged to my mother and I have it now on my bedroom dresser. It is almost the same color as yours. I think I’ll bring it down to the den this year for some autumn decor. Thanks for a lovely post!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Carole. I think the glass handbag is perfect for autumn. Happy Tuesday!
Roxanne Bernard says
Good morning Pam! Your tea for one is so inviting…I can imagine sitting there with a book or decorating magazine! My eye was immediately drawn to that sweet squirrel and the glass handbag. Both are unusual and perfect touches. Put me in the “eat candy corn until I’m sick” category! We are watching the temperatures drop into daytime 50s along the Danube, October7 is coming quickly!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. I am so excited for you and your sister. I want to hear all about it when you return. Hopefully you can post photos along the way!
Bonnie Morgan says
What a perfect spot for a cup of tea and an apple fritter! Cinnamon vanilla tea sounds delightful and your table is so pretty. Miss Squirrel is darling and your glass purse as a vase was a great idea. Autumn Fire Sedum and zinnias added just the right touch.
I enjoyed my virtual cup of tea sitting in your garden.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Bonnie. It would be a pleasure to have you join me for a cup of tea…Happy Tuesday!
Nancy says
Good Morning Pam…
What a lovely fall table for tea for you. Oh the cinnamon vanilla tea sounds delightful as I look at your plaid tablecloth and lovely tea cups.
I see the pumpkins peaking in the background. How fun.
I am one he dislikes candy corn. It’s a bit too sweet for me.
Fall is slowly creeping in here. We have had a lovely and warm September with cool mornings and evenings. Perfect!
Happy Fall Pam!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Nancy. I am ready for fall weather here in the South 🍁🧡
Carol Thompson says
I love the tea time setting in your beautiful garden which you have prepared for us. How can we be so lucky? I can’t take my eyes off your handcrafted basket and the gorgeous gold leaf pillow. Wow!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Carol. I am so happy to have you join me!
Liz says
Oh this is so charming Pam! It’s definitely feeling like fall up here but very early fall. We’re dropping into the 50’s and 60’s at night and daytime temps in the 70’s. Love the cute little squirrel and the glass purse you used for the vase. I like the sedum flower heads mixed with the zinnias! Beautiful dishes welcoming fall!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Liz. Enjoy your nice early fall days!
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Pam, your tea setting is just beautiful! I always love your autumn displays. The Johnson Brothers china is so pretty, and your arrangement is gorgeous! That sweet little squirrel is precious, and I don’t blame him for enjoying all those sweet treats. I share your pain on all those pesky critters. I love sedum, and it looks so pretty in your bouquet. This year the deer decided to eat mine. However, they didn’t like it and just spit it out. I couldn’t believe it. I guess that is country living. I so enjoyed my visit today. Everything looks just beautiful! Enjoy your day, sweet friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Shannon, thank you so much. You have certainly had your problems with the critters this year. It is so frustrating and I feel your pain!
Kris@Junkchiccottage says
Beautiful as always Pam. Your china is so pretty. That apple fritter looks so delish in the one pic. Yum!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kris! Happy week to you!
FrenchGardenHouse says
Pam, what a beautiful place for a tea party for one – and friends! You have brought the magic of fall to life with your table set so beautifully in fall’s prettiest colors. The tablecloth is wonderful, isn’t it, with those gorgeous fall and pumpkin colors? And who can not love your little squirrel? I like him much more than the real rascals we have who try to knock down our bird feeder every day by jumping on the top and swinging with all their might ( we wire the feeder on the hook so it doesn’t fall!) Sedum is one of my very favorite fall blooms to add to arrangements, and it looks so charming in that wonderful glass purse. I would love to make your table one for two of us, and share a cool fall afternoon here with you! Thank you so much for inviting me to join you, I am honored to share this Tea on Tuesdays with you and Mary. xo Lidy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Lidy. It was a joy to have you join us for Tea on Tuesdays. You are always welcome, dear friend.
Lisa C. Buick says
What a beautiful setting. And I am so anxious to see the garden expansion. I love your tea for one table setting. I have tried growing the same sedum for several years and finally, this year, have some beautiful blooms. I want to create a bouquet like you have but am so hesitant to remove a few of the sedum blooms. Just curious how long they will last and will that harm the growth of the plant in the coming years? Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and family with us.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Lisa. I have five autumn fire sedums with lots of blooms. My arrangement still looks pretty after six days. It is fine to cut the blooms, it should not hurt next year’s growth. It is my pleasure to share!
Heritage Hall says
Your rustic setting with elegant appointments just sings Autumn, Pam. That purse is perfect for your
blooms. The Erickson quote just says it all… there is something “promising” about this seasonal hour. OK – You forced me to order candy corn, with a few candy pumpkins to boot…otherwise, my
table would not qualify. My new orange/brown/gold plaid throw covers the table and awaits the rust
and orange hued china and accessories. I love playing with you, Lidy and Mary. Blessed Autumn,
with cooling breezes and the warmth of a fire while sitting to tea and holiday planning. May it bless
us all. A loving farewell to a Queen of the world who showed us the way of noblesse oblige.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Mary, your table sounds so beautiful! Please send me photos. I watched all of the coverage yesterday of the Queen’s funeral. I have been saddened about her passing.
Jenna says
So lovely Pam, I felt an instant sense of calm and relaxation as I was looking at your beautiful photos of your tea table in your garden setting. The purse vase is so unusual and soo pretty, the flowers you chose for it are just perfect! Love the autumn leaf pillow and don’t worry, your candy corn is safe from me 😝 I would love a caramel glazed apple fritter though! Your little squirrel adds a touch of whimsical fun, it’s all delightful!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Jenna. I love setting a tea table and the apple fritter was fabulous!
Alice Genzlinger says
Still can’t see what I’m typing but love your table.

That Fall fooling you sounds like! LOL! It was actually nice here on Saturday with a cool breeze and yesterday was pretty good. Today, those temps soared back to the 80’s. Your Tea time so inviting Pam. Wish I could share a cup of tea with you. Marty would love one of those Apple Fritters! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cindy, sharing tea with you would be a delightful treat! Thank you…

Your tea time table is beautiful Pam. The glass purse filled with flowers is so cute. Glad to hear your sweet Daddy enjoyed the apple fritter. I, too, like candy corn! Can’t blame that adorable squirrel for taking a few!😂 Enjoy your day. Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Clara. I must get to the bakery to buy more apple fritters!
Barbara at Mantel and Table says
SO lovely, Pam! You always set such a wonderful table! I’m in the “Will only eat candy corn if there’s absolutely no other option and people are bugging me to join in” camp. I don’t actually hate them, but there’s gotta be a caramel toffee around somewhere instead. 🤣 Good luck with your weather and wildlife. It’s starting to feel fall-ish here too! Happy Tuesday!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Barbara! Have a beautiful week!
Rita C. says
What a perfect little setup of food (and tea) among the flowers for ushering in fall. We are having weather like yours, and those days last week (up until today and tomorrow actually) have been heavenly, especially the mornings. The caramel apple fritter looks so good, and tea is the perfect accompaniment to enhance rather than kill the flavors as coffee might. Love the squirrel (I bet if he were to be opened up, there’d be your candy corns inside his belly 😉). I love candy corn, just bought a bag today. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your tea time!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
It seems there are quite a few of us that like candy corn. All three of the grands love it, so I share with them 😂 Thank you, Rita! I definitely have to go but more apple fritters!
Martha Franks says
How delightful, Pam! I’m a candy corn lover, but only in October. I have to treat myself to one small (maybe medium!) bag and I’m satisfied for the year! Love your sedum/zinnia pot. I’ve never seen a glass handbag before, but I’m off to find an autumn colored pot to do my own arrangement. Thanks for sharing your love and life with your followers!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Martha. I treat myself to candy corn for a couple of weeks and I am finished until next year. It is my pleasure to share!
Marion says
Pam thank you for sharing your beautiful Fall decorations. We love the pretty table cloths you always have on your table.

Thank you dear one and sending hugs to you!
Sarah says
Pam, I’m definitely a candy corn fan. In fact, I’m treating myself to a few kernels as I type. And I love a solitary tea time in the garden! I often do that for myself out on our terrace when the weather is cooler. Sadie sitting by my feet, and me almost meditating in the quiet. Your garden spaces are all lovely, that I could find multiple spots for tea or picnics. As for the squirrels, they are at odds with me, but not much I can do but tolerate them. I do like your lovely squirrel enamel box. Last year I stopped in to a neighborhood estate sale on a whim. It was late in the day, so not a lot left, but sitting there waiting for me was a darling squirrel bank. It is silver, and was so black I think no one wanted to touch it. Well, that precious squirrel polished up to a brilliant shine and is one of my favorite little pieces. My other favorite squirrel is a carved wooden squirrel that I spied in a shop window in Santa Fe. Sadly the shop was closed that day, and I was leaving the next day. About a week after returning home, it arrived in the mail. My dear friend who I was visiting in Santa Fe, bought it for me. It stay out on a table year round.
Thanks for the lovely tea time with all the pretty fall details. I’m ready for autumn!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Sarah. What a great find in the silver squirrel bank. What a precious friend to go back and purchase the carved wooden squirrel and mail it to you. I admire all of your gorgeous collections. Yes, autumn can’t come soon enough for me.
marmeladegypsy says
Your harvest tea is beautiful, Pam. I especially love those zinnias as a fall bouquet and your squirrel is darling. I like candy corn ONLY as a decoration and you found the perfect way to use it! Colorful and pretty! All in all, just darling!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Jeanie!
Kim says
Oh, that naughty Miss Squirrel but what a pretty tea table Pam! Its perfect for autumn with your plaid tablecloth and your gorgeous vintage Johnson Brothers plates! And that glass handbag is stunning for your sedum and zinnias! Your apple fritter with the caramel glaze looks delicious and I hope you got to enjoy it with your tea after setting the table. Wishing a lovely autumn for you.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kim. Yes, I did enjoy the apple fritter with the tea. Happy Friday, Kim!
Linda Primmer says
Pam, such a pretty setting to enjoy a cup of tea and that delicious looking apple fritter. Miss squirrel is so adorable. What a great idea using your glass handbag for the sedum and zinnias. Autumn has arrived. Happy weekend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Linda. I hope you are seeing signs of fall!
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Hello, dear Pam. As you can tell I am still in the catch-up mode. I try and do a little here and there. Ten days in the hospital and two weeks at home getting better sure took a toll on what I accomplish. I do love your Johnson Brothers china and I am with you on autumn. We are to have a few days in the low 50’s this week – I’m ready. I do love tea and collected tea cups and saucers for years. Coffee still has not worked its way back into a great friendship with me after being sick. I seem to enjoy tea so much more. Have a lovely day and week ahead!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sandra, I pray that every day you are stronger. Never worry about commenting. I am so glad you can enjoy tea. Thank you so much, dear one!
Cheryl says
