Hello sweet friends and Happy October! By now, you all know autumn is my favorite season. Have I mentioned that October is my favorite month?
“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!”
Romans 11:33
It is the first Monday of the month which means Monday Morning Blooms with my friends Mary and Lidy! Fall is the most ideal season for setting a table in the garden!
You will find the links for Mary’s and Lidy’s beautiful flower inspiration at the bottom of this post.
Our common theme for this edition of Monday Morning Blooms is harvest, the season for gathering crops. In our Appalachian Foothills of NE Alabama, fall is the season to harvest cotton, soybeans, corn, pumpkins, muscadine and scuppernong grapes.
Taking a closer look at the table, you can see the amber colored scuppernongs
in the foreground and the purple muscadines to the left. I visited my dear friend at the hydrangea farm last week and she insisted we pick scuppernongs and muscadines. They are delicious right off the vine and I happened to sample a few. Both make divine jelly. It doesn’t get any better than a hot homemade buttered biscuit with muscadine jelly. There are a few vineyards nearby that produce muscadine wine.
In our area, autumn is when the dahlias are the prettiest. My friend at Deep Roots Flower Farm had a gorgeous harvest of blooms for me to choose from for my arrangement. I cut zinnias from my garden and RM gathered some goldenrod from our woodlands. Chicken wire was used to support the dahlias, which tend to have thick stalks and be top heavy. I used the smallest of a three piece Italian canister set as the vase.
“Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
~Thomas O. Chisholm
As an April Cornell brand ambassador, I received this beautiful “dahlia days” tablecloth and napkins. I have been collecting AC linens for years because of their beautiful patterns and excellent quality. Many of you have asked about my linens, and almost without fail, they are from April Cornell.
I couldn’t resist the faux leather chargers that were half price last week at Hobby Lobby. Spode “woodland” dinner plate, “baroque” American Atelier salad plate, and Olfaire majolica leaf plate complete the stack. A favorite flatware pattern of acrylic tortoiseshell is from Horchow, many, many years ago.
Vintage Fostoria stemware completes each place setting.
“October is the opal month of the year. It is the month of glory, of ripeness. It is the picture-month.”
~Henry Ward Beecher
“In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October.”
~ Alexander Smith
I have many autumn favorites and a pumpkin stack is near the top of my list!
This was one of those perfect fall days as the sun began to set over the garden!
For gorgeous harvest and flower inspiration, be sure to visit Lidy and Mary!

What a beautiful April Cornell tablecloth and napkins Pam! They’re set off beautifully with the grape-colored chargers, your harvest of fruit and flowers and grape canister vase at your table! Love the maiden grass in the background highlighting your table and your colorful majolica leaf plates. Your Fostoria stemware complements your linens and table perfectly. We’ve enjoyed cooler temperatures and are looking forward to drying out and the sun’s return after Hurricane Ian and a very wet weekend. As always it’s a treat to share blooms with you. Happy October! ♥

What better complement to your floral choices and other table elements than the AC dahlia cloths, Pam! And your garden backdrops – the grasses, the pumpkin stack, the statuary – it’s all so beautiful. The added grape harvest really adds the element of authenticity to your harvest table. Beautiful!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Rita. I always appreciate your comments!

Beautiful dahlias and tablescape for the harvest season. It’s been years since I had any scuppernong or muscadine jelly but my mother made it and we loved it.
Love all your pumpkins and your plate stack. Your AC tablecloth is so lovely and adding the grapes to your table was charming and nostalgic for me.
Joining you in prayer for all those affected by hurricane Ian.

Thank you, Bonnie. Yes, continued prayers!

I have never, ever heard of scuppernongs! What rock have I been living under?🤔 We had a small grape orchard when I was a child, but this type of grape was never grown there. Too bad. They are so plump and tasty-looking! I’m glad your friend insisted on picking some!
Your linens are g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!!!!!!!! Wowza!!!!!!! Perfect for this time of year and in this kind of setting!
I have those same HL faux leather chargers, and they are perfect for this time of year! They beautifully underscore your place settings as a sort of juxtaposition to all the florals.
Nicely done, as always!!!!! Happy October to you!!!

As always, thank you for your sweet comments, Alycia! Happy Tuesday 🍂

Pam, The chargers are beautiful; I love the color. I didn’t see these at our HL. I may have to go and recheck a different HL. They pair so well with your plates. The autumn leaf plates are so cute. The tablecloth and napkins are gorgeous! Of course, so are the MMB’s! Happy Monday! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Clara. The chargers were 3.00 each with the 50% off. The stitching made them look like real leather. I hope you can find them. Have a beautiful day!

Happy October Pam. Your table and background speaks Autumn in all its glory. I too love AC linens..probably my favorites. I love how you use your beautiful items that you have collected over the years and set a completely different table. I can attest to the fact that dahlias are in their prime in October. My dahlias are huge. I especially loved the lines from one of my favorite hymns. Great is Thy faithfulness Lord unto me. Thank you for all the beauty and love Pam. Dianne Sharpe

Thank you, Dianne! I also love that hymn, one of my favorites!

Pam, I’m sorry to be late to your garden party. It’s all bountiful with your gorgeous textiles and plate stack. You have a wonderful collection of dishes and the perfect garden setting for any time of year. Thanks for sharing the inspiration for autumn decor. My table is in it’s third transition of a fall setting in preparation for Tuesday’s Halloween Tablescape Hop. My table doesn’t actually represent Halloween, but rather the essence of an adult approach for a group of my friends coming to dinner that evening. Think pumpkins and candy corn. Ha! Ha! Happy October!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Sarah. I look forward to your table next week on the hop. You have an eye for detail!
