Merry Tuesday! I cannot believe how fast Christmas is approaching, only twelve more sleeps!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6
The weather has been most unusual. It has rained for days, and on days we had little rain, the skies were dark and cloudy. We decorated outside a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday I decided to try and get photos even though there was no sun. I kept hoping for better weather, but I was running out of time!
Our small kitchen porch is where all of our family and friends enter our home. My Renaissance Man decided he would take care of the kitchen porch decorations, and I think he did a great job!
Most of you know RM cuts fresh pine for our exterior doors each year!
Faux and real greenery mixes with real and faux fruit to adorn the wagon and the fence. The Radio Flyer was a Christmas present for our son many, many years ago!
It is a short walk from the kitchen porch to the Sunshine Cottage!
The old, broken, and glued nutcrackers have returned to the cottage porch. They are anchored to the wall, hopefully to prevent the wind from blowing them off the porch again.
A festive throw and pillow moved outdoors for photos. With our steady traffic of varmints, they can’t stay outside!
The bench moved from the garden to the porch for the Christmas season!
Gift boxes add fun to the porch! The girls will be excited and want to know what’s inside!
The photos were taken around 1:00 and you can see how dark it is! I am still waiting for a brighter day to photograph the interior of the cottage.
RM’s fresh Williamsburg Fan has been appearing on his work shop door more years than we can remember! He waxes magnolia leaves and thirty apples and when dry, all are attached to a form he made. The pineapple, a symbol of hospitality, is then added.
A wreath that has seen many seasons is hung along with fresh pine and white lights. It is even more beautiful at night with accent lighting!
Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled week!

Good Morning Pam! Love seeing RM’s annual fresh Williamsburg Fan and the Sunshine Cottage with the Nutcrackers standing sentry! So glad they were repaired and hope their anchors keep them safe. It has been rainy here for two weeks and I’ve gotten nothing accomplished outdoors. The sunshine makes an appearance today and then the rain returns. Merry Tuesday. ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Mary. We are supposed to have sun on Thursday, I hope!
Carole @ From My Carolina Home says
Lovely, Pam. All that greenery is festive and must have a wonderful Christmas aroma!

Thanks so much, Carole!

The cottage porch looks so inviting! The workshop doorway is my favorite. Love the Williamsburg fan. Thank you for the inspirations. Merry Christmas
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Caron for your sweet comments. I always look forward to the Williamsburg fan!
Roxanne Bernard says
Good morning Pam and Butch! That glorious Williamsburg fan is truly a labor of love. Butch could hold workshops on how to build them! I love Seth’s little wagon full of greenery and the candle. And I’m so glad your nutcrackers are guarding the door to Sunshine Cottage! Everyone comes through our garage to enter the house to avoid climbing all the front steps (our house is on a sloped hill). I try to keep it decorated and constantly swept out, but it’s still a garage! It drives me nuts!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Hello Roxanne! I understand the issue of the guests coming through the garage. We have a front door entrance and a patio entrance, but everyone comes through the kitchen! Have a great week!
Clara says
Pam, The porches are all amazing! The Williamsburg fan looks fantastic. RM has many talents! The pine garland is awesome too. I know that must take a lot of time and patience. I love the side porch. The Radio Flyer is decorated beautifully. I’m so glad you saved and repaired the nutcrackers. They look so good on The Sunshine Cottage porch. We’ve had some really gloomy, dreary days too. Storms tonight are predicted. I have enjoyed the milder weather and we desperately needed the rain, but we’re ready to see the sun return. Happy Tuesday! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Clara. The pine garland does involve a lot of time. The forecast says sun on Thursday, I sure hope so!♥️
Liz says
Love the wagon all spruced up! The cottage looks like something out of a storybook! Love the nutcrackers. The wind sure can do a number on things! My goodness that Williamsburg Fan is a fantastic adornment! I think you are in for more rainy weather, it’s hard to get a sunlit day at this time of the year!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Liz. Tomorrow is another rainy day, but hopefully sun on Thursday!
Kris@Junkchiccottage says
It all looks so beautiful Pam. Love your nutcrackers standing guard. Love that you still have the Radio Flyer from your son to decorate so pretty. I kind of have been waiting for some sunshine days to get some pictures too. xoxo Kris

Simply beautiful Pam. I am so glad you kept the nutcrackers. The Sunshine porch looks so festive. I always admire RM’s Williamsburg Fan with the fresh cut greenery. I do a Williamsburg tree every year for the inside, a tradition of about 40 years. As we experience Advent, may our hearts rejoice because we know the reason for the season.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Dianne. Have you shared the Williamsburg tree before? It seems I remember it and it was beautiful!

I love all of the door decorations but my favorite remains Butch’s worship door. It truly is a labor of love.

It’s absolutely charming! I have always loved your nutcrackers and Butch’s Williamsburg Fan is fabulous. (I love that you can have packages on your porch and not get them bombarded with rain and snow!) It so lovely, warm and welcoming.

Heavenly days …. because so much love and talent have gone into your Christmas outdoor decor.
The gloom of the day can go almost unnoticed when coming upon the visions created by your hands.
Butch’s workshop looks more like a Williamsburg manse, given that gorgeous fan and wreath.
Christmas card-worthy. So glad the Nutcrackers could be rescued for another year…. they are so appealing. Butch works magic with the pine…not an easy element to manipulate into form…. All in all, a Christmas sigh
of gratitude to you both for this beautiful tribute to the season.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Mary for your encouragement. I hope you are having a wonderful week ♥️

The fan is so lovely and I would copy it if I had the time left, the skills as well as the items needed. It was instant like for me and a first for this holiday season. Thanks for posting. We have had rain, cloudy skies, etc., so unusual for this time in Dallas. We are sick of it. Need our sunshine!! Thanks for the inspiration.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Gayle for your visit. The Williamsburg fan is time consuming to make!
Nancy says
I always enjoy seeing the fresh Williamsburg Fan. The fresh greenery garlands are so beautiful and remind me of when we had fresh garland when I was a little girl.
I enjoyed seeing The Sunshine Cottage porch. It is so welcoming.

You guys make such a terrific team when it comes to caring for and decorating your home! I mean you guys REALLY rock!!! That takes a LOT of work!!!!!! I can’t believe Christmas is so close. I’m not ready for it to be here!!!!!!!!!!!
I studied that photo of the nutcracker attached to the dwelling. I think I will have to adopt that technique. The wind here is atrocious!!!!!!
Merry Christmas!

The porches are lovely. My favorite is your hubby’s fresh Williamsburg Fan/ It is gorgeous along with the green garlands. How fun to have the Radio Flyer. Gift boxes and goodies make the porches come to life with Christmas joy. So glad the nutcrackers were saved. Hopefully anchoring them will keep them safe. Our winds blew the new pool hutch over/ Thankfully it was sitting near the tall bushes which saved it. Merry Christmas.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Linda. I also love the Williamsburg fan. Merry Friday!
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Pam, you all have done a beautiful job decorating your porches. What a pretty and festive display to greet your family and guests! Our weather has been dark and gloomy too with lots of fog. I don’t ever remember so much fog. I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here. I wish I could slow time down. Merry Christmas season, my sweet friend!
