Happy Monday, sweet friends. I am always so happy to see you here.
“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
The Sunshine Cottage is cozy and warm…perfect for a romantic dinner with my Renaissance Man!
Last Friday was our first day of sunshine in what has seemed like weeks. During the winter months, the sun casts beautiful shadows into the cottage. I enjoy attempting to capture the beauty of the sunlight!
Our common theme for this edition of Monday Morning Blooms is Valentine’s. As you can see, the cottage table is dressed for the special occasion!
You will find the links for Lidy’s and Mary’s gorgeous Valentine’s inspiration at the bottom of this post!
The Staffordshire “Charlotte” English pitcher is filled with roses, carnations, alstroemeria, and a few twigs of spirea! I was so happy to find red, pink and white flowers at the grocery store. I love the traditional colors of Valentine’s! This arrangement required little fuss, now that is always a win!
These cute heart-shaped “Valentine Love” plates are by 222 Fifth and they purposely jumped into my cart at TJ Maxx a few years ago!
We all know that chocolate and flowers are Valentine’s must haves!
The gold antler napkin rings are the one item on the table that could be classified masculine! The exquisite linen “Royal” embroidered napkins are by Arte Italica/Crown Linen Designs!
“And suddenly all the love songs were about you.”
~Unknown
Dinner and dessert plates are Marc Jacobs “David Scarlet” by Waterford. This discontinued pattern has been impossible to find, even Replacements, Ltd. doesn’t have many pieces. I have two complete settings which are perfect for the two of us!
If you have seen my Valentine’s post in the past, you know that I have kept our cards for many years. I bring them out each year and we read them and sometimes there are a few tears!
For more Valentine’s inspiration click here and here.
I love displaying the cards and using them as part of our Valentine decor!
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful…
…it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth…
…. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things…
…Love never ends” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
My granddaughters had requested a tea party. Since the table was already set with chocolates, hearts, flowers and their favorite colors, I had the girls join me for tea in the Sunshine Cottage. Both girls were very excited to have their treats served on the heart-shaped “love” plates. EM said, “Oh PJ, are we eating on the heart plates?”
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
I believe God is continuing to write our love story, and if He allows…Butch and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, February 23!

Pam, this is so romantic, and so sentimental. I love it all. The balance of pink, red and white is perfect! The sunshine coming through the cottage windows is beautiful. I look forward to reading of you & Butch celebrating 50 years of marriage!
Rita, thank you so much. We are celebrating the entire month!
I’m so excited for your 50th wedding anniversary! Your table makes me want to get busy and plan a great Valentine’s Day dinner. We learned (the hard way) not to go out to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day!
Thank you, Leslie Anne. We are going to celebrate for the entire month!
Pam, this setting is so romantic, especially in the dappled sunlight. The colors are beautiful together, and those napkins are soooo exquisite. The girls must have been very excited to have that tea party with their PJ! February 23 is coming quickly! 💕
Thanks so much, Roxanne. We are going to celebrate all month ♥️
Good morning, Pam! Your flower arrangement is gorgeous! I just love the traditional colors of Valentine’s Day. Red and pink are just so gorgeous together! The heart plates are so pretty! I can see why those precious girls were excited to have tea at your beautiful table. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding anniversary! May God bless you two with many more happy years! Happy Monday, dear friend!
Thanks so much, sweet friend. We are celebrating all month!
Pam, Your Sunshine Cottage has a lovely Valentine’s tablescape. I know the girls enjoyed the heart shaped plates. They are a favorite! The striped plates are gorgeous. I know you and Butch are looking forward to celebrating 50 years together. It passes much more quickly than you expect! We’re a few years behind you as we’re on 44 later this year. I love the idea of revisiting the various Valentine’s cards. I have ours, but they’re mixed in with all the other holiday cards. I really hope to dig them out eventually and make stacks for the various holiday cards. They do evoke such precious memories! The flowers and pitcher make such a pretty centerpiece. The linens are stunning. Happy Monday! Clara❤️
I meant 45 later this year. Clara ❤️
Thanks so much, Clara. We have already begun a month of celebration. I also have cards from all occasions and revisit them often. It is hard to believe that it has been 50 years ♥️
I love that “God wrote your love story” And the biblical verses ! Number 50 isn’t even long enough. February 23rd will be a blessing to be treasured forever. Your table is all about love. Our world could use a large dose of it. I would so enjoy being with you and the grands at that tea.
Thank you, dear Alice. It is hard to believe how quickly the years have passed! We would have loved for you to have been with us at the tea party ♥️
I feel the romance at every image! Oh, such beautiful blooms and all those hearts! I love all the chanina, all the sweetest touches. I think Butch is in for a treat — again!
Thanks so much, Jeanie ♥️
Pam, your sweet table is such a tribute to “love never ends.” I love everything about it, mostly the love you and your Renaissance Man have for each other. The setting and flowers are beautiful- but the testimony to your love story is the best part. Mr.FGH and I are celebrating our 50th anniversary next year {we married in kindergarten : ) } and I’m planning something special. It is always such a blessing to my heart to join you for our beloved Monday Morning Blooms dear friend! xo Lidy
Thanks so much sweet friend! The years have passed too quickly. We are celebrating for the entire month ♥️
Pam, your post is beautiful! I love the sun casting shadows on your table. So lovely. It’s really sweet your anniversary is close to Valentine’s. I’m excited about your 50th.
I adore your flower arrangement and your pretty plate stack. I’m glad the girls were thrilled to get to eat on the heart plates.
The sunshine is wonderful today! Wishing you a lovely week. You can begin celebrating all month for 50 years!
Thanks so much, Bonnie. We are celebrating for the entire month and more in the fall!
So beautifully done Pam! One of my favorite Valentine tablescapes ever! I love how the shadows are cast across the table. I love the quote “And suddenly all the songs were about you.” That says so much. I also love how you incorporated the gold antler napkin rings for a masculine touch. Can I ask where you got those? And last but certainly not least I so love that you had a tea party with your granddaughters in the Sunshine Cottage and enjoyed the tablescape more than once. How precious!
Oh, Linda how sweet you are. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I found the gold antler napkin rings at a beautiful shop in Highlands, NC. When I saw them, I just knew my hubby would love them ♥️
How special and so pretty. The sunshine cottage was made just for this special day.
Thank you, Nonie!
What a beautiful romantic Valentine setting Pam. I do adore those napkin rings. I love it that you both save your Valentine cards to read again each year. Happy Week to you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Thanks so much for your sweet sentiments, sweet Maristella ♥️
Pam, I love the thought of you and your valentine will soon celebrate 50 years of marriage. Congratulations! I smile at a table for two in the Sunshine Cottage shared with Butch, but also with the grands. Heart plates! Of course you will use them.
The idea of saving all your cards was genius. I wish I had done that. I have some, but certainly not all. Actually we didn’t always give each other cards. I do have some hand written notes that Monnie gave me. Cherished for the words written in his hand.
Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy 50th Anniversary! Cherish these special moments!
Sarah, you are so gracious and kind. Loving thoughts sending your way ♥️
How incredibly special and beautiful. I especially love your tradition of re-reading your collection of Valentine cards.
Thank you, Cindie. Happy Valentine’s Day!
I suggest you not just celebrate your anniversary day, or month, but all year for such a landmark arrival. 50 years and your love bond still seems so young and ever-new, Remember Beshert – meant to be. God’s Hand passed across the page and your lives together were ever destined to be. I love your Valentine celebration table with all the flowered beauty and love cards… and how thrilled the girls must have been to find they could celebrate on those lovely heart plates…so special. Your sharing and dedication to one another is a model of what makes a marriage resonate with deep love and honor. God does such good work.
Your sentiments always warm our hearts, Mary. Thank you, dear one!
Oh what a special Valentine’s Day this will be for you both! Happy Special Anniversary! ❤️
Your flowers in the Charlotte vase are gorgeous. I love all the pinks, reds and whites. And the shadows dancing on all your pretty plates and linens make this table just perfect.
